QUOTE(dwRK @ Mar 17 2023, 07:34 PM) bad genes... didn't know until too late... knife the only option... had time to research n shop around... and didn't go for high class hospital... but my doc is 1st class... morale of the story is dun go expensive hospital n expect cheap prices lah... BTW... kwsp got sell medical/life insurance also... lol... I didn't pay attention much when logging in... QUOTE(Wolves @ Mar 17 2023, 07:36 PM) And you can pay using kwsp also. Even no buy you can withdraw from account 2 to use also. Kwsp really very very very good. Only problem is not liquid until certain age. 😂 Interesting. Mind sharing your views on KWSP insurance, the good and the bad? Thanks.

QUOTE(Wolves @ Mar 17 2023, 08:24 PM) ... I just wiggle out of that topic and now you bring me in again 😂. Ok.. let me say this one more time and i don't wanna go in again. I think medical one is a scam. I think car insurance is good but you need to make sure it covers natural disasters and other things as well. I think house insurance is good especially fire and home content. I think life/death insurance is ok. It all depends on what you can actually claim and what you couldn't claim. Medical is exception coz you don't really use it and when you do most of the time it is not covered and if you do really need, there is sosco, kwsp account 2 withdrawal and gov hospital. The point of commercial medical insurance is they should give something "better" at affordable price. The ones we have is better when premium and not better when affordable. I don't like it. Doesn't mean you shouldn't get it if you think you want it. I will however consider them IF my taxable income is higher and i wanna use them to deduct tax. Kwsp one is called i-Lindung. They offer similar stuff as privately buying. Only difference is you can use account 2 to buy. Thier partners are FWD Takaful Bhd, Prudential Assurance Malaysia Bhd, Prudential BSN Takaful Bhd, Etiqa Life Insurance Bhd and Etiqa Family Takaful Bhd. Basically the same, no discount, nothing. Coverage are similar if compare to private. So they are the same in essence except you using from account 2. Get it? Now what do i think about it? Read paragraph above again coz that's my view on insurance IN Malaysia. If you talk about other country my view is completely different due to better regulation in some countries and better coverage Thanks. Your 2nd paragraph answers my query. Comparing KWSP with others. I wasnt asking for the pros and cons of insurance.

With the global currency storm on the horizon (Saudi, Iran etc joining BRICS, etc., etc.), what are the impacts on EPF investments should there be a new global currency?
My guess is bad for EPF with its big foreign investments tied into the US$. Almost all investments are tied into the US$ anyway, unless in gold, non US currencies.
Your view?

QUOTE(Unkerpanjang @ Mar 31 2023, 10:00 AM) Wah Bro Plumberly,...Friday morning you crawl out from Aussie man cave n kacau with this topic. Now, all the experts surely share opinions. Hahaha. Have to plan what to do with my man cave just in case mah. US is facing global currency, military, and domestic problems. All these may just crack the camel's back. Seriously, no, little, medium or huge impact on EPF dividend % if a new global currency appears? My gut feeling is medium, looking at its foreign investments. EPF invests in gold and other precious metals too?

QUOTE(MUM @ Mar 4 2024, 01:25 PM) How EPF get? From the Govt budget Post 790 https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/5359044/+780Here are the highlights of Budget 2023: Government to contribute RM500 to EPF Account 1 of members aged 40 to 54 with less than RM10,000. This will benefit two million people and cost Putrajaya RM1 billion. How EPF distribute? Direct to account 1 of eligible accounts holders in their kwsp. When was it distributed? https://www.nst.com.my/business/corporate/2...savings-rm10000Call me selfish, stingy, etc, etc, like someone has said before, EPF is not a charity body but a retirement body. Can they legally do that? Feel that they are not solving the problem but just giving panadol to cancer patients with this do good move. Will getting RM500 really solve their low EPF problem? Likely yes, if they get it every year. If I get an extra RM5000 in my EPF, I doubt if that will bring me out of the EPF problem.
