Virgin mobo means you have to buy one from Samsung. If you attempt any repair, it will become "refurbished". Modern surface mount technology and chip packaging have made it extremely difficult to perform any repair.
Do note that as long as ARM remains 32 bit, you cannot get more than 4gb, and practically addressable RAM of 2, maybe 3Gb.
I'm curious, if, Samsung put the S3 mobo into the HTC M7 shell and called it the S5, will you still buy it because it's such great design?
Because with the greatnewsexydesignbutoldmobo, it's the best NEW thing isn't it?
Would you buy a Camry 2012 with the 2009 engine? Great new design

I never said M7 was great design, it was nice but not great. Who did the best design for 2013 now? - Sony Xperia Z.
If Samsung put in M7 and release as S5, I won't buy it.
You don't get my means design was important. Put in M7 and release as S5 was nothing origin as that was HTC release design.
Unless HTC never release it, then it was different story.
Also anything in world, design + spec take part together. If Samsung really release similar M7 design but with S4 spec and call it S5, I won't buy either. Because both need to run together.
This year S4 with spec but no design = it only release for stealing fans money more as they already skip the design investment. So why I need to let it steal my money? Sorry I not that kind of fans.
** every brand got it own design trademark, that one for sure. Xperia Z got previous Xperia shadow, One got HTC previous device design shadow as well. But both company did changes on it where you can clearly differentiate it. But what Samsung did to S4? It just a smaller edition of Note II only.
