You can remember this better as *#*#SERVICE#*#*
  • Q: What is touch firmware 'a', 'b' and 'c'?
A: Xperia TX has 2 different types of screen. Units with touch firmware 'a'/'c' is using the 'No Air Gap' technology. Units with touch firmware 'b' is using the OptiContrast technology. Units with OptiContrast technology have a better display quality, especially in the viewing angle. More info at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010335
  • Q: How to find out my TX touch firmware/screen type?
A: Go into the 'Service' menu. Choose 'Service info' and 'Software info'. Only applicable to ICS firmware. In Jelly Bean firmware, this info is no longer available.
It is still possible to find out the screen type, by looking at the screen under a bright light or sunlight. If you can see grid of lines or circuit on the screen, then it is 'a'/'c' No Air Gap type. If no, then it is 'b' OptiContrast type.

i have two questions,
First, whats media server on power management.. it seems to take much more battery than screen.. hmm.gif

Second, does jellybean update improves battery life?
*
Mediaserver is the DLNA server for sharing out videos to DLNA enabled devices over WIFI, like newer LCD TV, PS3.

Chrome for Android is a memory hog. The OS needs to close all other running apps to free up memory for it.

Hi, does anyone know how to save "camera apps" (downloaded from the Play store) to the "external sd card" ?

I've tried and tried, and it always saves the photos to the "Internal memory".
Only the Sony Camera saves to the external sd, but all the other camera apps save to internal sd...

Anyone know how to change this??

Thank you smile.gif
*
Some camera apps can let you choose 'save location'. If an app does not have this option, then too bad...

Sony is awsm.

Already managed to stream movies/music/pics off my TX to the LCD TV brows.gif

How long can you stream thru MHL? For me, every time I stream movies to my TV, it will disconnect after around 20-30 minutes.

Wonder... Does TX support OTG USB? If yes... does it work on Samsung OTG cable?
*
Normal USB OTG cable will work. I tried with keyboard and mouse on USB hub, no problem. Its kind of funny to see a mouse cursor in Android.

Samsung OTG cable? Some Samsung cables are not a micro USB connector.

It looks like Sony need to release a few more versions until the firmware is stable for use. Just look at how many 7.0 (ICS) versions there.

While Xperia T is still on first JB release:

No wonder got bug.

After some research, I found something hmm.gif about this PTCRB site.

Xperia V users received their official Malaysia Jelly Bean release yesterday.
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2488908/+616
The version number is 9.1.A.0.490.

Xperia V's model number is LT25i. I did a search on PTCRB site:
http://www.ptcrb.com/vendor/complete/view_...m?modelid=22367
None of the version numbers there match the Malaysia JB version.

Why this picture again?

Anyway, if you look closer at the right-side phone, you will see a black spot on the bottom of the phone, near the 'XPERIA' words. What is that???

The XDA link on this discussion was already posted in V1 thread.

Personally, I find that my 'c' screen looks fabulous. Maybe I have not seen a 'b' screen yet. But I am not too eager to find a 'b' screen and do a comparison.

Right now, the only thing that I want is JB. A stable one.
