FAQ
  • Q: How to unlock the bootloader?
A: Sony Mobile has provided a tool to let you do this. Get it from http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/. You may void your warranty, so read everything carefully.
  • Q: How to flash custom ROM?

  • Q: How to enter Service Menu?
On the phone dial pad, enter this *#*#7378423#*#*
You can remember this better as *#*#SERVICE#*#*
  • Q: What is touch firmware 'a', 'b' and 'c'?
A: Xperia TX has 2 different types of screen. Units with touch firmware 'a'/'c' is using the 'No Air Gap' technology. Units with touch firmware 'b' is using the OptiContrast technology. Units with OptiContrast technology have a better display quality, especially in the viewing angle. More info at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010335
  • Q: How to find out my TX touch firmware/screen type?
A: Go into the 'Service' menu. Choose 'Service info' and 'Software info'. Only applicable to ICS firmware. In Jelly Bean firmware, this info is no longer available.
It is still possible to find out the screen type, by looking at the screen under a bright light or sunlight. If you can see grid of lines or circuit on the screen, then it is 'a'/'c' No Air Gap type. If no, then it is 'b' OptiContrast type.
