they will be NO jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 or iOS 7 as at now.. just wait until release. you can only upgrade to iOS 7. no other option as at now.
you will unable downgrade to IOS 6.1.2 since apple has stop sign iOS 6.1.2 long time ago.
is your choice to wait or upgrade to iOS 7...

hey thanks for your reply. So if i want to upgrade to iOS 7, i will just upgrade through setting>general>software update? Even though my phone is jailbroken, i still can upgrade the normal way?

QUOTE(overmars @ Sep 21 2013, 05:46 PM)
Hi guys, im just having a little problem that i would really appreciate if someone can give some pointers.

Currently im using iphone 4s with a JB 5.1.1. Lol I havent touched the software update for a year plus now and it serves me well. Well kind of...I have been told that the more recent iOS would improve the battery life tremendously compared to the one im using now. Having a greater battery life would be something i would look forward too. And some apps beginning to require at least iOS 6 to run smoothly.

I've been going through the threads and i realised that ive missed out on the JB of 6.1.2. But the recent introduction of iOS 7 has opened up the opportunity of downgrading again. Or at least that's what i understand from the few threads here. So my question is would it be wise for me to update to the latest ios (ios 7) just for the sake of better battery life? (i mean does it really have any significant improvement?) Or can i upgrade to iOS 6.1.2 now and JB it? (and how do i do that?)

Any pointers and insights will be really appreciated. Thanks guys!

Well for me, ios7 eats alot of juice than my 6.1.2. Killed almost all the new feature that come with the ios7 already. Maybe its just me. :/

Decided to stay jailbroken since iOS 7 is not buttery smooth enough for me. Tested on my sis iphone 5. Still preferred the smoothness of iOS 6 with customization of jailbreaking. I got my ipad if i wanna play with iOS 7. laugh.gif looks like im gonna wait for a while till iOS 7 smooth enough. Or not. brows.gif

You need to do a clean format meaning that you need to download the ipsw file manually and then usethe restore function in iTunes

http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=750 -- the link to where you can find all the firmware versions

Connect your iPhone to iTunes and then press Shift key on your keyboard and at the same time click on the Restore iPhone in iTunes.

Haven't been visiting the iPhone forum for a while ....

A lot of people claimed but no one walk the talk. Unless we see an actual jailbreak, I don't put too much stock on those news
