Hi guys.just install unifi 5 this morning.
Was wondering izzit their setup correct o not.
There is no fibre cable to my modem.
The setup is phone line to modem.modem to router.router to Iptv box.
I thought unifi is using fibre optic cable?

hi..

understood asus n66u router could perform vlan for iptv with ethernet connection.

now i want to use the iptv with wireless way using wireless with lan repeater, is there anyway instead of connecting another wireless router to share out the iptv port? something like ssid? if no choice then i will get another wireless router, and anyone could share out how's the quality if i setup in this way..

because i don't want to lay a long cat5e cable running around my house

Some setup box were not configured properly. Mine was only configured to output 480p over hdmi even if it was 720p content. You need go use the rivzanrvp setupbox guide, see your output config for hdmi and change

you can't use iptv on wifi 2.4Ghz. Get homeplug instead.

Actually they use a fiber optic cable from the exchange to your building's MDF room where the VDSL equipment is located. From there, it will be copper all the way to your modem.

This 239.0.0.0 is a multicast IP.

Today, people claiming to be from Telekom hq called me twice to tell me that I have been specially selected to qualify for Unifi upgrade..can get 10mbps speed! For the same price as listed on the website. I really hate these bunch of liars. Why does tm give these people my info??
*
Many times I get calls from numbers that I know very well is NOT from TM. In fact their phone number is from other telcos (e.g. Maxis, P1, etc.) but they claimed to be from TM.

I am already a UniFi user and yet they ask me whether I want to subscribe to UniFi (and I mean subscribe, NOT upgrade).

Actually these are resellers. They should NOT claim they are from TM, they should identify themselves who they are, from which company and that they are resellers.

Maybe TM should make sure all their resellers do NOT misrepresent themselves as coming from TM.

just port in to MAXIS , so it's true that when i was outiside was FULL BAR and nice SPEED DATA .

but when inside HOUSE/BUILDING , my line was unstable , keep jumping around 1-4bar , sometime no signal ...

it's normal for maxis user having this problem , because i feel when inside my room , the line are slow then DIGI . the problem is i dont understand why the line unstable , can keep jumping , sometime 1 bar , sometime fullbar line
