island hopping start at what time? how much the lowest can get? can we choose our own(time)?thanks.
*
There are 4 islands hopping/mangrove tour points. i.e

1) Kuah Jetty to either i. pulau Dayang Bunting (~RM30/pax) ii Pulau Payar (~RM100/pax)
2) Awana Porto Malai fishing point - To Beras Basah & Singa island (~RM40/pax)
3) Tg Rhu Beach - Mangrove/ Dendang island (~RM50-RM80/pax)
4) Mangrove tour jetty near Perdana Gallery - Mangrove tour (~RM50/pax-RM80/pax)

Which one do u choose? Anyway adviseable to go there in the Morning as most of the tour will be 1/2 to 1 day package.

I hv tried only the Daya Bunting tour, Singa Besar/Beras Basah islands hopping & mini mangrove tour at Tg Rhu (To the cave only). So far I like the Singa Besar/Beras Basah islands..as these islands having one of the best crystal clear water quaility surrounding langkawi.

However during my last Langkawi visit, I also checked on the mangrove tour but din buy the package due to lack of group..If I'm not mistaken u need to get the whole boat to fill up or else u hv to buy the whole boat which will cost me a bomb!...The mangrove tour at Tg Rhu also inc tour to 2 smaller island wth the best crystal clear water in the Northwestern part of the main Island....and from the photos....probably very close to Redang/Perhentian quality liow...but damn pricy...I think >RM100/pax..That is what I'm thinking in my nxt trip to Langkawi. Another pricy tour will be the Payar Island tour..Cheapest ~RM100 from Kuah...looking forward for this as well

A 4-star resort with 2 star quality biggrin.gif ...Well as mentioned in earlier posting, Langkasuka is sister to Helang hotel and very near to the airport but far from Kuah town & about 4-5 km away from the happening beach of Cenang. Water quality suxx and muddy...infact PD water better.

i just back from langkawi n stayed at langkasuka resort. as what stimix says, the water is muddy. i dont even dare swim there. but the beach is ok n u can watch sunset. room i got is quite big n clean though. service is ok but both western n local breakfast doesnt give much of choice.

abit dissapoint with the mangroove tour though. the tour is arrange by mr dino who is same as alexis. for the price of rm160 per pax, except for the food, the tour is kinda boring making me think island hopping might be more interesting. maybe its a different tour guide thats why the whole tour becomes boring. the guide just bring us boating around the river, showed us eagle feeding where he just pour chicken skin into the water n let the eagles grab them, took us to crocodile cave whic is just a small cave n show us some bats on top of the caves then to floating restoran for view the fish farm n eat there then just take us around the island n thats it. the only two things which interest me is the cable car at mt cincang + the hanging bridge(which is closed due to "maintenance") n the telaga tujuh waterfall which is a very beautiful place.

stimix ... maybe few reasons kua. maybe its due to 1st day raya so no mood bring us to far far place n waste too much time. maybe the guide not so good to entertain customer. alexis did say her tour guide brought them to bat cave which ours didnt. also maybe the tour starts at 2pm due to raya prayers in the morning so not enough time ... bottomline i do feel the tour is not worth rm160.

car i got is an iswara. power window not working n aircon not cold enough. charge is rm60 per day ... either its because due to peak season or i was conn lor.

my advice for forumers who is going langkawi ... check the car before u confirm(pay) n check the tour route before pay.

This thread has enough information for you to plan your 3D2N trip easily...

Very lazy to repeat myself.

To one who request for renting of bungalow... not too sure of bungalow but I remember there is one service apartment to let in Kuah Town itself... am not the type to take down number but if someone here knows well, sure can help him out here.

I just came back from langkawi on Mon..This trip considered kinda boring coz its raining season so many place cannot go.But spend alot there buying liquor, cigarettes,n chocolates..Bought so many things...i found a restaurant the food is quite nice..The restaurant name is island one..Chinese restaurant..but i tried Rootian Hokkien mee...quite nice...

For shopping i would recommend Wawasan Baru Trading Shopping centre at Kuah Town..the price is the cheapest compared to others.Their chocolates is the cheapest...

Haji Ismail Group is kinda expensive..not recommended and they dont sell liquor.

i think so, that's why ... we have to go during low seasons... rm60 for iswara is ok ar... well, really need to check the car before sign your name there...

but, u didnt bargain with him? i mean, bargain about rm100 per person in that case... but at least you learnt a lesson, hehehe ... bargain bargain lo... always can take the other people's offer whenever is good one... my island hopping is bored(from rental guy),mangrove tour is fun... mine from 10am, maybe different boatman, mine is AMIE(guy)... without the crocodile cave...
