Just use NSE till u reach Alor Setar & follow the exit showing "Langkawi" or Kuala Kedah ..This will lead u to Kuala Kedah..

Exit at Alor Setar tol only can c road signs of going to kuala kedah is it?or wat?really noob la...

No-lah *& dun worry, there are proper signages to Kuala Kedah (Langkawi) at the Alor Setar Selatan Interchange...Enter the toll go straight after the Toll plaza & the junction infront of toll plaza...go straight for another 2.5KM after the junction & turn left & go for another 7.5KM to reach Kuala Kedh Jetty.

If you feel boring waiting for ferry (If ticket available is hours away) just drive up to Alor Setar which is only 12KM away..and atleast u can kill 2 birds wth one stone....

It's all depend on how fast u drive.....Ipoh to Kuala Kedah (Langkawi Hetty) is ~300KM and if u drive at an avg 100km/hr it will be 3 hrs. So if 150km/hr =1.5hr...depending on u.. Kuala Kedah is the jetty. What I'm suggesting is u made a detour to Alor Setar if the ticket u bot is in Afternoon/Evening but u reach early in the Morning (During Raya, u might be waiting for atleast 4hr b4 the the ticket time!..so u can head up to Alor Setar for lunch & sight seing b4 return to Kuala Kedah but if managed to get ticket <2hr, then just wait at the jetty-lah

Yes most of the Malasy eateries are closed during Raya...but no problem if u r in Kuah...check al the previous posting earlier for recommendations, it has been extensively discussed earlier..no point repeating again ..anyway, Langkawi foods are not cheap..the price is equivalent to KL or even more expensive than KL except for its beers...& Most of the food outlest I have tasted are not so nice...so just go there for Holiday..probably maggi is nicer..

hahahah...ya, include very nice lunch for us... you must calculate how many girls...especially girls... are going... cause if guy more than girl, get from airport people cheaper, the car rental guy offer at rm120 per person... if more girl going, more fun... contact mr dino... haha rm80 per girl... i love it when at floating point... see some cute fish fish... actually it's not my review,it's my feeling. i feel not enough time for 4days ,next time if i get there,will go about 1week at least... beer beer beer!!

there was a restaurant name ROO TIAN RESTAURANT,located at kuah town, on the way to jetty,wat i wanna said is the service that they provided is bad, totally bad.....i went there on tue nite, which the crowd is very busy,n s our opinion, the restaurant with the most customer shud be a good restaurant, so my family n i were decide to have dinner there, there were no sitting available for us, n we just told the worker that we need a table for 6 person, then guess wat the tauke said? he just said no place with a very unpleasant emotion, it seem like if we din eat there, there is no other place at all, but wat the most angry thing is there was another lady asking for a place after us, the tauke immediately prepare a new table for them, in front of us.wat it this?????????we dun have money????????spoil my travelling mood.....dun ever ever go there to eat......ROO TIAN SEAFOOD RESTAURANT....

I am going to langkawi this weekend. the bridge on top mt cincang is still off limits? i am going there on a 3 days 2 nights trip, does that mean i cant bring back tax free chivas? chocolate got tax not? anybody got contact for good n honest agent for car rental n mangrove tour? btw, whats the difference between island hopping n mangrove tour?

as i said, both go to diff places, mangrove provide lunch, other than dat i oso wanna noe wat is the diff....it seems mangrove tour is a lot better and fun...my frens oso suggest us to take this package....island hoping seems boring to them...

er.... i think mangrove tour worth the money.... eagle feeding is nearer(no need pack with mat salleh to take picture), go to seaside also (island hopping they drop us to 3 seaside,the best part is play the paddle boat(at duno what lake,a lot of monkey,forgot name jor,need to walk 10minutes, same with titiwangsa paddle boat i play when i was small), then got food to eat... feed some fish... go crocodile cave, bat cave... if u r lucky boatman will caught fish then bbq with him lo...

i think u have 6pax can take package from airport car rental guy,bargain lo. u can always shake head. i learnt it there when i rent car, i shake head and walk away they give me the price i want. whatever it is,people can give girl at price rm80, i think u can bargain nearly till that price for 6pax hehehe...good luck...

car rent at rm60 very less choice unless u r very good at bargain like aunty at pasar... my kancil(M) rent at rm40(decrease from rm50), they offer rm50 for kelisa(M),sentra(M) rm80, iswara (A) rm70, wira i think rm80... bring ur own portable audio player better, over there only got 2radio channel and malay songs only... insurans u wan to buy also can,depends on u,i think is cheat money only la...

er... hotel i only stay at "langkapuri",as my previous post, the lady serves me well... rm70 per night,air cond,heater,tv,fridge,two single bed(me n gf sleep one bed only),2sofa,one make up table,2towels,hot water upon request,one drinking water 1.5L,2glass,got a few soaps. rm90 is for seaview..but she din give us cause she said we can walk out from the room see the seaview, it's very near to the sea... morning time can see some ships sailing... got others price at rm33 per room and rm55,rm60, i think it's not that okay...

your car rental guy n boatman seem honest n nice. is it arrange by mr din as in your previous post? if yes, i think i will make arrangement with him too.

car rental is not a very good guy,he looks like want to cheat people face.hehehe.. mr dino is the one in charge of boat, many package available,get from airport. once come out on ur left there's a tourism malaysia booth,the girl there will explain everything. then whatever brochure available just take then go to hotel and see.

Raya time almost impossible. All rental rates doubled!..That's why try to avoid public holiday in Langkawi...Time for the car rental co to cut throat... ..U will be happy if u can get it for <RM60 during that period. Even Nissan sentra which is RM70/day can shoot up to RM100-RM140!

island hopping start at what time? how much the lowest can get? can we choose our own(time)?thanks.
