From the 2nd photo, the beach look like a distance from the Berjaya hotel. Anyone can tell me is it walking distance. eg: like in Langkasuka Hotel or the 3rd photo.

Thanks.

Will be going there next month.. and planning to stay at Langkasuka Beach Resort, anyone here stayed there before? What's your comment? And how much to rent a auto Sentra? Budget < Rm80. Also, what about the Mangrove tour? Is it worth the Rm140? Thanks. smile.gif

hey , i stayed in langkasuka, the location is good, its in the middle...though, its abit old now...haha ...overall not too bad , you shouldnt stay that long in the room anyway...

Sentra should be around that price during off peak , RM80 ...can negotiate abit though.

Mangrove tour i didnt have enough time to go , but i would suggest you to head straight to Tanjung Rhu beach, theres some good deal on mangrove tour...around rm180/boat i was quoted..

other places you should consider : Pulau Payar rm150, island hopping rm35, galeria perdana..

Hope it helps, langkawi is a really good place to relax..

Thanks for the comment. Yeah, you're right, should not be staying in the room for too long. biggrin.gif. I hope the place is not too run down/dirty like what some ppl said. Done island hopping before, would like to try something different this time. It would be either Mangrove tour or Pulau Payar, still undecided.

Ok, looks like I will proceed with Langkasuka then. Btw, how long is the Langkasuka beach? Would like to know what is there to see/do during the mangrove tour. How much you paid for it? smile.gif

is island hoping worth it?
where do they take us and is it RM35 including meals and boat transfer?
going thr next wk for 4nights not so sure what to do besides drinking cheap beer hahah.
plan to go to Telaga Tujuh and dataran helang, and pasar mlm(one of the websites says its good for foodies)
where to go to buy cheap duty free bottles? (is it same every where or do they hv price fluctuations)

what else to do? we dont want to do the aquaria thing, dont want cable car. more like lounging and relaxing doing chilled out stuff?

staying in pantai cenang, hope its good. haha.

any recommendation by ppl who recently went thr would be awesome thanks much smile.gif

Yeah island hopping is worth it considering its only RM35... no meals, approx 4 hours trip, trip incls Pulau dayang bunting, beras basah beach, and eagle feeding..why not?

Telaga Tujuh is nice, but be prepared to walk few hundred steps to reach the top..you can jungle trek there as well..

Pulau Payar is good, able to see some coral reefs, baby sharks...fish feeding...price is around RM150 incl 1 meal, and snorkeling equipment.
you can visit Galeri Perdana too to see our former prime minister's collection if you have some free time.

as for a good breakfast, I suggest Cenang Boat Quay, nice scenery, good food...location is nearby the go-kart.

I'm going to Langkawi on 26/06/09 until 01/07/09. Totally 6 days and 5 nite there. Planning to stay around Cenang Beach for its sea n sunset. Currently my option was to stay at either Malibest, Sandy beach, Best Start resort, AB motel and Beach Garden resort.

In some of ur experience, is it wise to stay let say 2 days in one hotel or move to others next hotel since they are next to each other only to get the best rate?

Try cactus located opposite Holiday Villa. Reasonable & nice food..Visited by lotsa backpackers around the world & u can see their comment written in chalk all around the restaurant including the roof.

As the name..It's derived from the cactus brand mineral water..

i noticed restaurants along pantai cenang service so so..seems they only welcome foreigners better.. just my bad experience...

the chinese restaurant (don't want to mention name)along pantai cenang offers average quality food and price is slightly more expensive than KL.

because foreigner would pay higher and they might not know the quality of chinese food.. even they pay higher it;s consider cheaper for them due to currency exchange.

I found langkawi geopark is great for family during my last stay...
but the cable car seem a bit risky as it reaches til the hill never try on it unsure.gif
