Not very clear. Maybe is just confirm development in 2015. Who cares. Might just jump to Nikon D750 or Samsung NX1 that time. Even a used D610 is so tempting now below RM4k......

they said the price will be expensive than canikons/others (because of the bigger sensor)...but will be very competitive.

I dont think that will be the flagship this year.. so still got hope for full frame

Yup. Kit lens looks interesting... maybe time to replace my worn out first gen 18-55? Hopefully that kit lens will be WR and not too expensive.

The camera looks interesting too, nice looks, and a hinged LCD screen.

Damn, I didn't want to spend anything on Pentax anymore... Samsung looks sooooo tempting.

Yeah but kit lens means cheap.

Also, the NX1 is so far ahead of anything Pentax, Canon or Nikon are offering, it's not even funny anymore. That's like Proton still selling Iswaras, when everyone else is selling electric or hydrogen fuel cell cars.

I don't think Pentax can catch up. They don't have the expertise for that, their partners who they get parts from don't have it either. And even if Pentax would be able to do it, I don't know if the management is wise and progressive enough.

No doubt that the NX1 is the best APS-C size camera now in terms of image quality and video. But I doubt the Stills Focusing System would not be any better than the K-3 or the K-5II/s in low light condition without the use of the AF Assist light. But not hundred percent sure. And I still don't buy in with EVF. Maybe I am old fashion. Still prefer the optical ones. I some how have the mentality that looking at the television to close can spoil our eyes.

The K-3's focusing system is somehow quite astonishing in almost any condition. I was quite surprised, amazed and at same time disappointed that It even beats the Nikon D610's focusing in normal restaurant lighting conditions without the use of the AF Assist light for the K-3 and with AF Assist light from the Nissin Di600 flash which is rubbish. The only doubt is the 3D tracking ability which I could not be bother because I hardly use it.

For me, I would be jumping back to the Pentax 24MP AA Filterless FF if they ever release it if the focusing system specs is as good as the K-3 with the same button layout and with 4K video support and cost the same or slightly higher than the D750.
