Got FF. 645D. Very full frame. laugh.gif

If we are talking about properly drooling... 43 Limited la. biggrin.gif Though I wouldn't mind the FA 50 1.4, 1.7, F 50 1.7, ...

"Then comes the bokeh. In some situations, it's not that great. But when the right situation comes along (60% of the time for me), it's just astonishingly smooth and pleasant to look at. The color and contrast -- probably the most important aspect of this lens. It's like the rendering of the Limiteds. It can turn trash into treasure. It has the pixie dust. You can take a picture of the floor and it will look nice. There is so much depth in the rendering of this lens -- it's almost 3D."
Some people can write... biggrin.gif Now I want the F. laugh.gif

@delroz: Have you accidentally activated the self timer? When you have that delay, can you check? (I think it should be the up button on the cursor... it looks like an upside down Q).

isn't the self timer something we have to activate manually everytime? because this issue seems to happen on its own accord. someone told me the camera is "hunting for focus" although i have no idea what that means sweat.gif

since i'm always looking through the viewfinder so i wouldn't know, i'll try a self potrait tonight and see if the timer light blinks or not.

thanks kadajawi.

Mh... I think you have to activate it, yes. That it is hunting for focus is weird. Maybe you could record a video of you trying to take a photo, so we can see what the camera is doing in the time while you are waiting? Hunting for focus could take a second or two, but anything more than that... though you may have set the camera to only release the shutter when it has confirmed focus. But lets say you're taking a photo outdoor during daytime, pointing the camera at something with contrast (i.e. not the sky), then it should immediately take the photo.

But would digital filters not slow down the camera _after_ the photo was taken? Hm.

Do I get this right? The DA 50 will only work on APS-C cameras? The image circle isn't big enough for a FF camera?

I've checked prices for the FA 50 1.7... a FA 50 1.4 is not much more than that. The DA 50 1.8 is the only affordable option thus that has AF. Still haven't had a chance to try it out...

Where do you live? It is easier to show it to pentaxians who know.

I have seen shots from DA on slr, it looks ok so i assume it can be used on future ff.

Fa 50 1.4 is quite soft at 1.4, and people who compare these lenses 1.4 and f 50 1.7 said the latter is sharper.

Ah ok. The 1.4 may be able to get you a shot you couldn't get with the 1.7 though, even if it is a bit soft. But the 1.7 seems to be really damn good.

haven't shown it to anyone yet, just discovered this problem a couple weeks back. find it weird because if it's shutter speed related, then the view finder will black out while the mirror is "opened". but the viewfinder can still see through during the 10-15 seconds delay, and then suddenly "ka-chak"!!!.

i tried it on mountains, buildings, indoor, people, etc. and still have the same problem. I believe it's something to do with advance settings because when it's on P mode or SCN mode it's ok. i was meddling with all the settings one night and then this happened, but i forgotten what i set sad.gif should really have RTFM

hoping someone could give me an idea on what happened.

it is quite difficult because we cant really see the camera right now.it is either you record a video of it happening or you meet some pentaxians around your area.

Yeah, try to reset, but otherwise... maybe something is defect on your camera. A software bug or something like that. Maybe you can try to time how long exactly the camera does nothing. And can you still operate it, i.e. will it focus if you half press the shutter or press the AF button, or will it go into the menu, ...

Tried the DA 50 today. While I'm not 100% confident about the build quality... my God is the lens beautiful. Manually focusing during video shouldn't be much of an issue without the distance scale, the shallow DoF will help. The bokeh is beautiful, I aimed into lights and barely got flares, ... though I do like the massive amounts of lens flare my old 50mm gives me laugh.gif It's almost like a Holga lens...

Anyway, there's one less 50mm available now. And apparently during the Pentax event on Sunday they managed to sell 6 lenses or so. biggrin.gif

doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

it WAS the self-timer function.

apparently it stays "on" within that mode until you turn it off, and i must have accidentally set it "on" for potrait and landscape mode.

since the self-timer blinking indicator is located at the grip, my fingers were blocking it and nobody noticed it at all

doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

thanks guys. now let's get back to some shooting!

Yeah. There's a ton of discussions going on at the Pentax Forum...

From what I see so far I'm thinking... ooooooooooooooh. Nice. But we'll have to see the rest, and I really didn't intend to buy a new camera anytime soon.

us-ricoh-imaging make a blunder by publishing info on K3 early...kind of officially officiate things, gah I don't manage to see the details specification...although there is the leak spec...
