I wonder why people would give pets as gifts shakehead.gif That aside, I remember that my RES when they were babies would eat their pellets despite not having UVB lights. Perhaps you can try putting the aquarium outdoors (but in the shade to avoid ) to rule out UV and air temperature.

BTW you're trying to feed it pellets and not your plants right? laugh.gif

Lol. Of course! Got him that nutrafin basix pellet.

I'll give your advice a shot. Got home today to see him almost all dried up on the driftwood. Soak him in the aquarium before he starts moving.

A family friend gave my son a baby RES last Friday. We house him in a plastic aquarium, about 1ft with a piece of driftwood for him to get out of the water if he so desires.

Thing is, he never eats so far, just stays put and usually stays dry on the driftwood through the night. Could it be sick? I'm actually thinking of getting a UV lamp. Will that help? I'm a planted tank guy, so I have access to full spectrum bulbs, but I don't think that's helpful for terrapins, right?

Hi, may be u can try to put a heater for him. My RES just active n eat a lot when I put a heater(set to 25 Celsius degree) for them.

I got a baby sulcata, the weather temp is constant 28-30 day time degrees, do I need to get a heat lamp for night time? Or is it hot enuff? Btw it like to sleep and I mean a lot, one day like sleep 23 hrs, awake when I soak him in warm water
*
Hey bro Stalking about the internet looking for a sulcata. Can you let me know where you buy it and how much? Sister in law wants one for her collection. Thanks

Can you see how the front part of the plastron is bulging out and not flat? Is this normal? He kinda rocks left right when placed on flat surface..

May I have another view of the plastron itself ! And is the bulging part soft to press ?

If it is still eating good I won't worry that much !
