QUOTE(cowithgun @ Jan 27 2013, 11:29 PM) My highest Antutu score: 23647 Samsung, sony n apple strong point is the after sales support lol- 1.7ghz - vdd=1150000 (same as stock kernel vdd at 1.5ghz for "Fast" and "Faster" CPU) - noop IO scheduler - everything else, default, including fsync. for me, not worth to disable fsync just to get some extra speed. it is risky. Even at default 1.5ghz, managed to get: 20741 At this freq, it's only using 100000vdd, phone runs extra cool and save more battery. Galaxy Note 2 benchmark? LOL... eat my dusk! (yeah, i like to pick on Note II, coz most clueless people call it the best Android phone) Samsung sarawak service is fast. Send note2 in the morning and i get it back in the afternoon. Same case with my and my fren s3. |

I was told you need not do that @ Digi Centre, Alamanda, but having come across this thread and reading one poster's experience made me aware that this may not necessarily hold true. |

QUOTE(miloy2k @ Jan 28 2013, 07:46 AM) Samsung, sony n apple strong point is the after sales support lol Can't comment on after sales support from LG. I am not planning of sending my Nexus 4 for any support from them even though I mess with the phone so much; unlock, rooted, overclock, undervolting, etc... Phone still work! May be others are doing better, if so, shame on you LG!!! And I don't buy stuff based on brand. If it's good, it's good.Samsung sarawak service is fast. Send note2 in the morning and i get it back in the afternoon. Same case with my and my fren s3. That does not change the fact that Nexus 4 is still the best Android phone. If just comparing hardware, iPhone5 is the best phone there is (then Nexus 4, then all S4 Pro CPU phones, then xxxx, then Note 2) but I really like Nexus 4 because of Android. The experience of able to customize everything in your phone is amazing. Compiling the kernel and actually see it work on my phone is... intoxicating! So, if you talk about Android, all you S3 and Note 2 users; be prepared for major disappointment when Google announce Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie in May later. Nexus 4 users, rejoice! S3 and Note 2 users? Wait a year or 2, or buy a new phone. Faster (in months?) if you use custom ROM. If Nexus 5 going to use Tegra 4, watch how my Nexus 4 going to beat the new Nexus. Nexus 4 - This piece of device comes with among the best hardware there is in the market, and with best software support for Android ever, from Google directly. Y U NO BUY N4?! OK OK, not everyone buy a phone because of it's superior hardware and software. Some buy it for it's brand. Some buy it for it's local support, screen size, slightly better camera, etc... whatever. It's cool if you know what you want. But if you want the best Android phone there is in the market, no phone beat Nexus 4. |

QUOTE(azrash @ Jan 28 2013, 03:47 AM) do you have a big music library? I have moved mine to the cloud. i only use the itunes to manage the files that i keep locally on the PC. 20GB of songs, all in the cloud. that is one way to save your precious storage. actually, it'll be better if you can tell us the breakdown of your iphone usage. what are the main things that take the biggest space in your phone? Majority of the disk space used in my iPhone consists of app (more of games). Another chunk goes to songs which I hardly listen to all of them. Then again, lately, I've been using more for internet than any other tasks. So, 16GB might be sufficient but as usual, it's that gut feeling...Another question, in terms of syncing apps/settings (especially when you do hard reset/restore to factory settings), do we need to reconfigure the phone and download the apps one by one again or we could sync from backup file? I'm not sure how Android works and so, pardon me for the limited knowledge. This post has been edited by goliath: Jan 28 2013, 09:52 AM |

It's cool if you know what you want. But if you want the best Android phone there is in the market, no phone beat Nexus 4. I have xperia S and nexus 4 currently . Although the s4 pro should be 4 times faster than s3 dual core on paper , i cant feel the different on daily use . My normal activities is browsing lowyat , watch some video and read some book . Both of them do those job smoothly although nexus 4 might be slightly faster . I tried to play same video side by side for both device then i discovered the xperia s actually play the video better . The colour is more vibrant and is more sharp . The sound actually louder by 50% for xperia s . Then i actually like to take video . For xperia s i never run out of memory even i take 1080p video for long time . Suprisely last few day when i bring nexus 4 with me , i found that its memory is full after taking some video . I guess 16gb is just "enough" for me . Then i ve used many phone before , but all of them do have capacitive button or physical button . The on screen button of nexus 4 keep rotate when i watching video or album . This's kinda annoying . At last the accessories . My xperia S come with HDMI cable , livesound earphone smart tag and screen protector applied . Nexus 4 come with nothing . Before that i think is ok to have naked phone for awhile , but then i found that the camera glass could be scratch , so now i will be very careful before i get my screen protector and case . Although nexus 4 is a very good phone , it actually far from perfect . p/s: its dpi kinda strange also . The wallpaper looks very big while the icon looks very small (5x5 in drawer ) This post has been edited by xerox8908: Jan 28 2013, 10:27 AM |

Best is not necessary the fastest update or superior benchmarks My BEST is not your best and so is your best is not mine too Everyone of us has different needs I know you love your Nexus 4 but why you always wants to bash S3, Note 2 and other phones Be happy with what you have ; seriously why so proud ?? I also have Nexus 4 and seriously I would say is avery good phone but is not the best for me Not everyone is like you who knows how to tinker with kernels etc to get the maximum optimisation from it |
