Between the NA408 and 408 Turbo, which one would you prefer to bring up Genting, I mean going uphill with power? My current Camry is comfortable, but going up to Genting is a different story, hehehehe.
*
408t of course, without a second thought. Low end torque and sports tuned suspension will chewup those uphill twisty roads. The car handles like a sports car rather than a sedan.

408NA will be better than your Camry,but no chance against the turbo brother la!

That is so worth! If this is oil is the Total oil recommended for 308/408, can we "kiasu" buy some and keep them?? Mine 2300km, still long way to reach 10,000km.
*
Yes you can do it,if your SC allows to bring your own oil. No harm in keeping oil for 6 months by with time you have to change oil to keep warranty.

Btw let us know which SC allows own oil. I too want to do this as it brings service cost down.

OK.  No problem.  No one come here to argue.  Just stating my points.
After all, we all drive the same water boiling car.

You may speed as much as you want.  No problem.

But please do tell me which highway/road you usually use.  I would love to avoid using that road if possible  tongue.gif
*
A little regret perhaps you didn't get the turbo, and these turbo boys are blazing the trails! tongue.gif

Especially slow drivers driving at 80kph and hogging the fast lane. Tow trucks surely just inches away from ur car...saw too many, tailgated too many by the even in the middle lane at 110kph..

what irks me most is those people like to cut into fast lane when they are overtaking cars or simply wanna overtake at snailspeed and knowing there is a car coming fast from far or near....ish..simply cant understand these people.some more says other tailgating them.
*
Oh I feel like strangling these fellows,and they think they are safe drives just because they drive slow. mad.gif vmad.gif

Bro.  Bro, driving slow on the fast lane (hogging) and driving slow on an appropriate lane is two different matter bro.
Yes?  Bra?  Bro?  Bro?

Bro, So please don't stranggle me when you see me bro.  OK bro?  Thanks bro.
*
You're fine with appropriate speed on appropriate lane. Hoggers infuriate me! Don't hog ANY lane.

People money and they had own choice to drive fast and slow. If you want to smoke those 408T fanboy, just go ahead. Other wise It is not wise to teach people how to drive.

For me, I will smoke those who like to drive fast, but normal drive I just roll slow.

So, just chill
*
Ya,I don't get it. Why some people insist or must TEACH! Said your stuff.....chill! If recipient party not interested,move on!

Alrighty. Just a quick review on the new tires. I got the 215/50 R17 Toyo Teo tires at RM395. The Toyo Proxes costs RM35 ringgit more, which I would have chosen if I knew they had the later tires. Anyway, this is where i got the tires:
[attachmentid=3572025]

And as you can see, my tires are no more safe to use:
[attachmentid=3572028]

These are the new tires:
[attachmentid=3572031]

Good thing it was raining really heavily in Klang just now, so the I get the chance to test the tires. Its really quiet... and quite decent in the rain. Of course, I am quite sure, Bridgestone Turanza would be the better tires for rain. Toyo do have this model (i cant remember what) for wet... but I reckon its slightly more expensive than the Proxes.

Since its near the Raya holiday, the shop is packed... I arrived at 10am and got my car at 12.30pm. Lets see how long these tires will last me.
*
That's good price. What mileage did you get on your CCs?

Hey tks,34K is kind of low. But it's a heavy car. My wife's Myvi went on to 70K on rear tyres.

Just saw new bmw 316, 1.6 turbo.

Performance wise, to compare with 408T, which one better.
*
Good looking car,but am disappointed with performance figures - 138hp/220nm. 138hp for a 1.6t is rather poor. Korean 1.6NAs are already putting out 125hp. However the 220nm with BMW will make a difference. Need to test drive before i can comment!

I had the E46 rated at 150hp. That is a lame duck against our 408t.

I tot is 250nm?
*
I read Paul Tan's review. He quoted 138hp/220nm! I felt it was low,especially since our Prince was developed by BMW! But then it's a different gearbox. Perhaps it's 8speed gb and engine/gb combo with new technology may be good. As I said need to test drive.

any daredevils willing to chip his 408T to 190hp/300Nm when warranty is still in place?

I will try it,but not during warranty.......sure void! I don't run flat out,but flex the muscles when needed. Will be guilty of occasional Adrenalin rush with 300nm...hehehe! tongue.gif

how much the BMW 316??

any1 can explain what is chip use and how to increase the horsepower???
for information only  brows.gif  yawn.gif
*
It's F10 316 priced at $210K.

Chipping basically rewrites ECU software. On turbo models, it commands the turbo to work harder. Fuel injections steps up to the plate. The combo increases hp/nm

No Peugeot made units,many after market units available.Not everyone is happy about it. There are quite a few 308t owners selling off their units. I'm not sure why they are unhappy!
