Thanks for the info.  rclxms.gif

But what about the battery water level? I cannot open the battery cover to look at  my battery. Anybody can advise? flex.gif

*
Can't check water level. No need to check cos this is maintenance free battery.

since warranty is limited to 12 months, i'd suggest that we peel the sticker open and add water in after that  sweat.gif

As yours is a brand new car, the faulty brake disc is a manufacturing defect. Not each and every part that is manufactured is inspected. A very small number of not so perfect units slip through. That's why we have warranty to fix these kind of stuff. It may even be something very small. So nothing to worry bro,I'd make an appointment with the SC and have it attended.

Thanks SKYjack, ya, just a small matter, but overall is a great car!  Which SC u normally send your lion to?
*
You are most welcome bro. It is a great car and you'll enjoy it more and more as you get use to it's fantastic handling.Try it on a twisty road,it handles more like a sports car than a sedan.

I do my servicing in Seremban as I live there. It's a small SC,not sure if they can handle serious problems. My car is a year old, touch wood no problems since day one. Lion's roar is healthy as ever! tongue.gif

Hi skyjack, small correction here.

if his battery is yokohama. It is called dry battery byt there are 4 holes under the sticker that allows for battery water to be refilled.

my yokohama konked at 11month. Peugeot technician came and reolaced with delkor. He peeled off the ticker and showed me. And he laughed too at yokohama battery which claimed maintenance free or dry battery which needed for battery water to be refilled too.
*
Hey tks, didn't realize that! Did they say if there's any benefit in refilling or the battery could be revived

@EP6CDTM
My apologies for wrong info.

hi. bro. just want to know more about seremban service centre , coz i also live in seremban . my 2500km inspection will on next week i also dont know where to go for the inspection kl or seremban ? coz i brought the car at kl CSL there. thx
*
2500km inspection is just a general check to unsure the car is functioning properly in use. They are only looking for leaks, levels and general condition.

I'd suggest go to Seremban SC since you live here. The SC is adequately setup and is fine for normal service. There's a small customer waiting area with free coffee, biscuits and Wifi. Although the SC is not very busy, each of my visits has taken roughly 2hrs,so take your laptop. My last visit took 3+hrs cos they said my battery is weak at the end of service. So had to wait for another 1+hr for just a battery change.

Hehehe.......very true, well said! Even your Lion is unhappy being caged all the time. Periodic wild run keeps all happy. biggrin.gif

Bro ladbrokes88, LEKAS is another good one.Best of all,no AES,and hope it stays that way. I take that every now and then or whenever Lion and me are in the mood for a wild run! biggrin.gif

Want to ask you,is Cascadia Lake Vista,Puchong a good investment. These are gated townhouses. Are people wanting to stay at this place? Is the area surrounding nice? I'm looking at long term investment.

Bro, I am not good in property investment. But I can tell you, now at Puchong, every inch of land is like piece of gold. People are crazy with it. They wont bother where is the location or what kind of property is it. The concern is, price and return rate, any DIBS..... cry.gif

I knew that place, it is inside Taman Tasik Prima, very deep inside and far away from the town. By the way, there are lots of houses and shops inside. Even KFC 24-hour is there too. Should be a good investment because slowly it becomes its own town.

I back Seremban every weekend, using LEKAS  rclxm9.gif Hopefully still no speed trap at LEKAS, so I can let my Lion runs freely there....
*
Tks for the tip on Tmn Tasik Prima. I realize it is far away and was wondering about it's potential. There's lot of stuff coming there and I suppose good on long term.

I'm usually in KL on weekends. So many times get stuck at Nillai area, fedup with the KL/Seramban HWY la! LEKAS is good, enjoy it.

By the way, feel so nice to smoke a BMW at Duke highway, the turbo engine is insane, its tooooo addictive! Fuel consumption?.... Who cares?!  rclxm9.gif

Yours small problem, nothing serious la. I wouldn't consider it lemon.

Ya, don't worry about FC,that's the way to enjoy your Lion. Most of the Bemars on the road are 2Liter NAs. No chance in hell against our Lion la.Straight roads twisty roads, they can only smell our tail pipes...hehehe! Smoke em smoke em bro. biggrin.gif

Hi Sky,

so that is minor problem ??? those sound...
worry about it ...@@
*
Ya steering sounds and brake judder are minor problems,I wouldn't worry. SC will be able to fix them.

One 508GT owner had gearbox problem the 1st week he got the car. He had to park his car for 2 months, waiting for new gb from France. His car now fixed and he is very happy. Your car problems are nothing compared to his! I'd go to SC asap.

Good luck bro! icon_rolleyes.gif

Thanks for the reply blu3. Promotion lasts till end Aug.

But if I get the car, will keep it for next 10 years at least. After 5 years free maintenance, will subsequent maintenance cost a bomb?

Pardon my basic question. Not only am I new to Peugeot, I'm actually new to err, cars. Been reading the last 50 pages of posts till my eyes are watering. So far, it seems that there have been some really bad experiences with after sales service, while some owners have relatively problem-free rides.

Am actually planning to get the car for my dad. But some past postings here are making me worried that maintenance will leave a big hassle and big hole in dad's pockets.
*
After 5 years, maintenance bills on all cars go up. That's when wear and tear on major items takes place. On Conti's you probably spend 30% more than Jap/Korean. The more complexed a machine, the greater the expense as time goes on.

Before you buy,the question is, does your dad enjoy driving and can he afford the maintenance. If both are yes than the 408NA is a good buy. Maintenance on this will be much lower when wear & tear issues appear. Also note, what ever issues owners have had so far, have all been solved. I'd say this would be a long term buy.

If your answer to the questions are no, than you should look at non Conti's. I personally prefer Korean over Jap.

Hi kayyanne78,
When I start the engine on the morning, the engine sound is quite loud..like "dak dak dak" sound, but after awhile the engine has warm up, then the "dak dak" sound will lesser but still can be hear.. Do you have the same scenario when first start engine on the day?
*
That sound is the timing chain on a cold start. The sound disappears once it's fully oiled up as the engine runs.

The aluminum foil you mentioned earlier is puzzling me. The foil is placed in between turbo out let hose and electrical cable housing. The highly charged air from the turbo also heats up. I'm not sure if the foil is acting as a heat insulator or damage protector, for the cables in the hose housing. The fact it is placed loosely is even more puzzling!

btw tailgating people is a rude behavior.

No matter fast or slow, the most important fact is have control at all times!

The functionality of the aluminium foil work as heat insulator to protect the nearby cables from the extreme heat generated by turbo hose. Skyjack you are right on this.

*
Tks for that info. I would have liked to see a more permanent fitting, instead of this ah beng kind of job!

Btw any idea how to clean the engine. Use to spry engine degrease on my old cars and hose off. This car has too much electronics, can't hose it.

Hi Pug owners,

Need your advice.

I'm eyeing on 408 Turbo as well as the Elantra 1.8 Premium.

Between these two, I already know that performance and handling is won hands down by 408T.

However, in terms of FC, maintenance and reliability, I have no idea in these categories.

Is the maintenance expensive for the Pug, especially after the warranty period?

Thank you.
*
The reason why 408t performance and handling is so good is because it's got a lot more in it. It's more complexed. The more complexed the more the service and maintenance cost. FC is about the same as Elantra.

If you are concerned about maintenance cost after warranty, then go for the 408NA. Performance and handling is better than Elantra. Elantra's engine is noisy on hard acceleration, certainly not as refined as the 408NA. After 5 years wear & tear items will cropup on any car. Maintenance on the NA after 5 years will be much lower than 408T.

But the look and the additional accessories for the Turbo version is so tempting smile.gif

Yes very tempting. Test drive......sure kena poison! After I test drove it,I was like under a spell......wanted to sign on the dotted line immediately! tongue.gif

But I can tell you bro, slightly more than a year now, never regret.Love that turbo torque! For me it's not about going flat out fast. It's about having the muscles to flex when needed! tongue.gif
