Its has been 1 week since my last visit to sc on 3.6.2013. I have just sent them a follow up email. Will record all the conversation in written form from now on.

Stay tuned.....

Keep up the pressure bro. I know this is hard, but try not to get emotional,on the long run best to be professional. I'm pretty sure your car will be fixed. I know worst cases, like a faulty gb by the 1st week. The car was fixed, but with a time factor. I'm not going to state the time to depress you further ,but rest assure, your problem will be solved.

The delay may not be totally due to Nassim. A good share of it is by Peugeot. I say this from my experience with Airbus Industry. We have found it extremely difficult to deal with the French when it comes to support and spares. There's always a breakdown in communication and tempers fly. I've found it helps to keep calm and professional.

Best of luck buddy!

Here's something for ppl who feel only Pugs have battery problems!

Hi,

Anyone can help? My K5 almost 1 year old and mileage more then 40K. Yesterday my car battery KO. Im thought i can claim as in warranty as it yet 1 year old. Refer back to the Services Booklet. It mentioned 6 months or 20K or which ever come 1st. The battery cost me RM565.00

Anyone got same experience with me and able to do it as In Warranty claim?

Please help and advice.

Thanks
Poor K5 Driver.

Can I say the advancement in car battery is not keeping up with advancement in car electronics development? With all the electronics features in modern cars, it is consuming the battery at a faster rate?

I remember my Wira, with less electronic features, and running on non-maintenance free battery .... the battery can actually last quite long.

Wonder those T&H models are facing this battery problem?
*
I feel this car needs a higher capacity battery, mainly cos of the electronics. My last car,BMW E39,the maintenance free battery lasted 5 years. However I must also say it was a larger capacity battery and cost 1K.

If that is the case, can we switch our car battery from din55 to din66 in order to have a longer lifespan? or it is not advisable due to the voltage difference.
*
Like EP6CDTM said, this is a bigger battery and will not fit. More importantly will void warranty.

Hi I am newbie here,
I got my pug 408 turbo 4 months ago, so far so good.
Last Friday was the first time I had a long distance drive with my new car from KL to Melaka.
When I drove over 130km/h at the highway my car felt very bumpy but the steering is still steady. Its so bumpy that my wife can't even type massages with her iphone.  At certain point the car felt like sliding to left and right when I over take a big truck. I never had this experience with my old car(camry 2.2 1994).

Anyone had the same experience?
Thanks

Hi Kiamson
The bumpy ride you experienced is normal for the 408t on hwy that is undulating. 408t has a sports tuned suspension with a rigid chassis. This combination provides excellent handling. You'll be very pleased to drive this car around twisty roads,it hugs the road like a lizard. However this setup is a bit harsh on potholes as it does not absorb the shocks that well and gets bumpy on roads that are not very level. You can reduce the bumpy effect by reducing tyre pressure, changing to normal profile tyres and also changing shock absorbers and springs. Any change you do will be at the expense of handling.

Your Camry has a soft suspension and chassis setup. This setup absorbs shocks well, therefore more comfortable and less bumpy. However handling will be like a sampan, rocking side to side on twisty roads.

I was initially concerned about the bumpy ride on our Pug. With AES now in force,I tend to drive slower. Below 130kmh the car rides fine. When I'm in the mood,I take LEKAS. Done 200kmh,smooth and rock steady. Up north is also good. South from KL the hwy is not very good for high speeds.

Have a good day and enjoy your Lion!

Absolutely true, and that's why I stated some hwys you can do high speed so that you are not disappointed with the car. Try twisty roads, you'll forget it's a sedan. Lot more fun than straight out high speeds! Requires quite a bit driving skill too! tongue.gif

Same 9:00am, thought of changing it to Thursday, tapi tak pe lah, sebab warranty booklet said we can have additional 500km extension and plus it was my off day as well. I got 13 items recorded in my checklist for them to work on and battery is one of them. Are you coming to CSL for your 10k service?
*
Wow really surprised you have 13 items. Do give a run down and if they were fixed.

Hi,
I am not from KL area.
The consumption I get at the initial stages were poor. About 13 - 14 L/100 Km with lots of stops, starts and waiting.
That is almost all town and city driving as I have not got into the highway yet. I am still trying it out and is now only running in the car.

Lately I noticed that if one is a little light footed and observe the LCD indicator as a guide, I can greatly improve the consumption. That is mostly for town driving and short cruising. Once in while, I will push the car and the consumption indicator will show amuch higher consumption rate. I find this a useful TIP and in time will gradually develop a good driving habit and will save fuel. Do give it a try.

I am expecting a average consumption of 9.0 L/100 KM or better in time  icon_rolleyes.gif  nod.gif

FC will improve as your engine beds in. KL city driving is a lot of jams,I don't know if you'll get down to 9L/100km even light footed! I'm not exactly heavy or light footed,my FC is 9.6L/100KM city and 9.2L/100KM urban. Not the best FC and others do better. I guess it's all about driving styles.

However, the car is such a joy that it's really hard to be light footed. We have a few heavy foot champs here with 12L/100km,city driving! biggrin.gif

Mine is 2.0NA. Mileage around 1200km now. 90% KL city drive...12.2L/100km. This week I am trying with the manual shift mode...fuel consumption seems better at 11.7L/100km. I guess in auto shift mode...the gears only change at rpm2500 and from 3rd to 4th it changes at rpm3200 to rpm3500. Ita dragging the engine..n maybe causing the high fuel consumption. Errr...when will the engine starts to bed in???
*
I too was getting about your FC initially. FC began to improve after 6K - 7K. The 10K service is important as the engine oil is changed. After this service FC will be constant depending on your driving style.

MSIG proposed to insure Rm123k, which I think is too much.
Would like to revise the insure amount.

Inc Co are thieves la. They insist on $123K to earn higher premium. When it come to claims, they will not accept $123K,will insist on market value which is probably $110K! This time it's for us to press for market value!

You always can go for any other insurance company, each and every principle offer different market value, but the most important part is the AGREED VALUE CLAUSE which applied to your policy. This clause is useful to insured

with the free 5 years service, is it worth to get it? I am divided between this and 308 turbo
*
308t is a sexy hot hatchback with good performance.

408t carries the most advanced engine on the 240NM Prince/platform. FYI,8 mods were carried out addressing reliability issues faced by earlier 1.6t. List of mods is at pg 1 of this thread. This version of engine with 6spd Aisin gb is proving to be very reliable. If you read this and the earlier 408 thread,if not mistaken, there's no engine of gb complaints from the 408t owners!

I'm one of the very early owners.Booked this car the day Naza opened the doors on the 408. A year now of ownership,no complaints and my Lion roars healthy as ever!

Hi guys,

I accidentally went to test drive the new 1.6T 408 yesterday in Puchong showroom.
All I can say is I like the car very much.
Nasim is currently offering two options on the car
- rebate of RM8K that can be deducted from your d/p
- RM3k rebate plus 5 years free maintenance.

Drove the car from Puchong to Kesas highway and back, all i an say is the the power is there and you can use it if you need it (low end torque i mean..correctly me if I am wrong..a bit noob lol) but the problem that i had with the test car is the accelerator pedal is very small and i keep stepping and the car didnt go anywhere! Haha. Like the car very much in terms of space and the dashboard layout but really like it if it comes with the TFT screen. The SA told me its RM4k options that I can fit if I but the car. Can the current owners confirm this? It has the GPS, rear sensor, reverse camera etc.

Thanks!

Hi
I'm one of the early owners of the 408t. It is spacious for all the family needs and has adequate power for my needs.I've had more than a dozen cars, the handling on this car is easily the best, levels above! I particularly like the steering feel and feedback. This was a big plus that attracted me to this car. I'm not a speed freak, but a car that handles twisty roads well with good steering feedback is a must for me. IMO the steering feedback is more precise that the BMW F30 which I recently tested.

At launch of the car, there was no option for GPS, which was a big disappointment. After market GPS probably cost half the price quoted by Nassim, but that will void car warranty. I guess if you really want it,go for the Nassim option GPS.
