Can I change the tyre into 215 / 50 / 17 ?
I think the ori 45 series is just too thin for malaysia road,
*
Can explain what you mean by too thin?

The ride will be harsher with thinner tyres, but it'll have a bit hetter handling. The thinner tyre's sidewall will not sway as much as the thicker sidewall, thus u'll have more control, but sacrifice on comfort.

Entering a pothole on malaysian roads with a thinner tyre will absolutely be harder than with a thicker tyre. Plus it can damage the rims.
*
I get it. The sidewall is 5mm lower not thinner! That's why it's called low profile not thinner profile. The word thinner completely put me off. Yes ofcourse high profile tyres are more comfortable than low profile. The comfort is at the expanse of handling. Yes I had already decided on 50 series when time to change. biggrin.gif

Seriously? Damn! I was thinking of getting the 408T already. I guess I need to think twice now, how come Peugeot do not have balancing and alignment equipments in their blue box?
*
I'm surprised to hear you having doubts on this car over such an small issue!

Can sifu advise a good tyre shop around subang jaya? Think need to do the alignment since at certain speed, got humming sound coming from front right tyre.
*
That could be a bearing or faulty tyre. Check with SC first.

Hi, anyone been to Georgetown SC. I am thinking of going there. Hows the waiting area environment?
*
Haven't tried Georgetown SC. I believe even the small PBB has a decent customer waiting room with free coffee and wifi. On my 1st inspection,I picked up my car 15minutes after it was ready. I was too busy with my laptop on wifi in the waiting room...hehehe! biggrin.gif

As I mentioned earlier, I was pretty surprise when I got to know about this and plus my current car manufacture SC has everything under one roof. So for all sudden it triggered my sense of comparison but of course just like what you said, It is just a small issue.
*
All my years of experience with French products,I notice they concentrate on serious and important issues. Those simple or easy stuff is out sourced. Not everything is done under one roof. This way they are able to focus their resources on pushing the envelope and being innovative!

Guys need ur opinion pls..

I was informed by Balakong SC that any complaints I want to make need to do appointment.. Is it true?

Any of u right now in SC Balakong?
*
Balakong SC is always very busy. If you turn up without an appointment they may not be able to attend to your car. Even with appointment, you may need to leave your car there, depending on your problem.

Yours is very new. what problem you have?If it's alignment, don't waste time going to any PBB SC and waiting. After all the trouble you took, the car will still be the same! Go to a good trye shop!

Hi roxx,I'm not sure which model you are driving as you are not on the owners list. Send a word to jfcheong and he'll list you.

If yours is NA,then the slight jerking is normal. I think it may be the adaptive gb. Peugeot Bluetooth only supports a few soft wares, you may not get auto connect. Occasional brakes sound is normal, it's ABS neutralizing. But if it sounds everytime you press brakes, that is abnormal. I'm really surprised about the wind noise. My last trip from Penang,I was doing 200kmh at certain stretches, did not hear any wind noise!

The rest, SC should be able to sort out for you.

Hi guys,

Good to know 408 has an active forum here. Btw im driving a 308THP. Just to check with you guys whether 408T does experience the depollution system faulty as well.

thanks

Hi rayzeal
Yes we guys are pretty active. You are most welcome to join us since you are a Pug bro.

From the very start I was very concern with this 'depollution system fault' that has plagued Pugs. This is not only a problem with Pugs, all DI engines suffer from this. Some corrective measures have been done which has reduced this problem on newer Pugs. Nevertheless the root cause of the problem was not addressed.

However the Prince on the 408, was given a serious make over. Now the root cause was being addressed. Total of 8 mods were done addressing reliability issues. This Prince has been bench tested for 60k km without any carbon buildup. Some of us are coming up to a year of ownership. Glad to say,no depollution problems.

Roxx, don't worry about your engine noise. It's probably the adaptive gb getting used to your style of driving. I think the gears are changing late, as a result engine raving a little. This produces the high engine noise.

Once the gb settles in, the engine noise will not be there unless you accelerate hard.

Guys, does the steering vibrate if u drive 170km/h? Is it normal?

That is not normal. You should be able to take it to max speed without vibration. I've done 200kmh and no vibration.

Accidently found this scratch/crack in the engine  blink.gif
any though? big problem?
*
This is a heat shield on the inter-cooler outlet. The crack is on the heat shield and will not affect any thing. The shield itself may break into two in time, as the crack will expand. Even after breaking into two pieces it will not affect engine operation. But yours is a new car and this is a defective part. I would certainly get it changed and it should be FOC,under warranty.

Hi guys,

I've just returned from overseas after a few years away. Am keen to get a car that would stay with me and give me many days of happy driving. I've tested quite few cars in both C and D segments. at the end of the day, what caught my attention most, particularly from a driving, handling perspective was the 408T.

I'm just one step short of putting down my booking.

there are a few bug bears however, and I would be grateful if you guys the current owners can let me know if they are real issues you face:

1) Air cond not cold enough - I've tested three different units in three different showrooms. Including on 508. The common problem was the air cond doesnt seem to cool, despite being on the lowest temperature. Even on auto -mode same issue. My borrowed 7 year old Myvi is doing much better.

2) Radio quality - Every car i've driven has rather poor sound quality, especially when it's own radio. its not crisp and sounds fuzzy. Again, very sad that the Myvi system sounds better.

As mentioned, would really be grateful if you could share with me your experiences on the above. The air cond in particular is bothersome - in Malaysia, poor aircond is tantamount to suicide.

Thanks for your advice! notworthy.gif

1) As jfcheong said, you must tint this car to have the air-con effective. I've tinted mine and find the air-con cold even on hot mid day sun. My wife complaints of it being too cold on long journeys. Short stop and go,Myvi aircon may still be better cos of the smaller cabin volume.
2) Audio sound quality is not bad, acceptable for me. I prefer a beer while listening to my favorite jazz,so that's done relaxed at home.

Good on you bro, that's the way to go! Since you are doing about the same speeds I do on long journeys, what FC are you getting. Mine now has settled at 9.2L/100km. The best I ever got was 8.8L/100km,but have to drive uncle style la......can't drive that style with Pug la...hehehe! biggrin.gif
