QUOTE(skyblu3 @ Apr 13 2013, 03:40 PM) My wife and I finally made the decision to get the 408T this morning....Dark Blue. will be getting the car in a week time, hopefully. We actually couldn't decide which to take. 208 3-doors? Or 408T. we were even considering the 508S. But she prefer the 408T eventhough it may not be as fancy and stylish (interior and exterior) as the 208 3-doors. She chose 408 for the space, comfort, full leather, etc etc...and of course, pick up. oh yeah....now peugeot is giving free Ipad for 408 and 308. Anything but french crap?????

QUOTE(Seng21 @ Apr 13 2013, 09:49 PM) Ya, unfortunately or fortunately i tested pug 508 and i found that it's much better in overall driving experience, feel of solidness, power, handling, etc. I'm not really a car person, but the differentiation is significant enough to make meet think twice. Some more i think Mazda 6 selling quite well that my previous Mazda SA seems has less interest to feed me more information that i need, giving me soonest notification that i need, keeping the promise he made, therefore i cancelled. Anyway, the new SA that i approved is much better. Anyway, both within my budget and have it's pros and cons. I still not decided to get which car. I'm not really in rush. Usually people are patriotic, buy one brand and stick to it when upgrade. I know not all,but a large number do. For my dad,it was Volvo, from 121/122s/144/244. It is very interesting to note, for a person who is not into cars, some of the driving dynamics of the 508 made an important impression to you. Important enough for you to consider this brand. Kudos to Peugeot! This post has been edited by SKYjack: Apr 14 2013, 10:07 AM

QUOTE(sctang408T @ Apr 15 2013, 01:26 AM) Haha, me not. I won't buy another peugeot. Next will be VW or Mini Cooper. I am not patriotic either, but will still consider Peugeot or Citroen cos they are innovative. However this is subject to service and maintenance being able to keep up with innovations!

QUOTE(darrez @ Apr 15 2013, 06:42 PM) to tell you the truth...i never really concern about FC, im more toward spirited driver, i will floor the pedal whenever i hv chance i choose turbo bcoz i wan to feel the turbo but stil not satisfied though, the throttle lag is kinda annoying even in the S mode..maybe they set it like that to extend the turbo engine life. edit : does anyone hear wooo wooo sound from the dashboard esp if u slow down the car? is it from the gearbox? What you doing is right. Buy a turbo means enjoy it,not bother about FC. The woo woo sound is actually your engine ,nothing to worry about. When you slow down quickly by braking, the gears step down. As the gears change to lower gears the engine revs up.The sound is the engine reeving up!

QUOTE(brianccg @ Apr 15 2013, 01:57 PM) I am thinking of Elantra and 408 2L. The discount that i check around is 6K. Any further discount that can get? Elantra is a pretty car and the 1.8L does match 2L power. However the engine is not as refined as the engine on the 408NA. Elantra's engines strain a loud roar upon hard acceleration. Elantra does not match 408NA handling. This is where the Pug is a class above .

QUOTE(ultravilot @ Apr 17 2013, 04:48 PM) Yeah, is true. Also, there is also a common problem on Turbo charger...which due to carbon. Any idea how to prevent this? My female frend's that driving a 308T had replaced her Turbo charger once....she cant really explain how it feel when the Turbo is lack of power. There is no permanent solution for the premature carbon buildup. However there is preventive maintenance. Join 308T club at FB. Turbo charger unit is known to crack. Unfortunately no prevention, only an expensive unit to change! Anyway it's not as if every 308t has this problem. 6spd 308t comes with a remapped ECU. This has solved alot of the problems on the 4spd models. This post has been edited by SKYjack: Apr 17 2013, 09:28 PM

QUOTE(zenix @ Apr 18 2013, 09:31 AM) Oh, if the GT was available you'd have gotten it? Initially was so disappointed the GT was introduced a month after I got my 408t. Now seeing how reliable the 408t is, have settled with it. Besides I'm not sure if local expertise are sufficient to handle high-tech innovations on the 508GT. From your posting I understand you do not know the Prince engine on the 408t is different from all other Pugs. The Prince is EP6CDTM and carries 8 mods addressing reliability issues. The engine has been given a serious make over and is proving to be reliable compared with it's older brothers. Whilst premature carbon buildup has been reported on all DIs, contis & japs ,as low as 25K km, this Prince has been bench tested to 60K km without any carbon buildup. QUOTE(zenix @ Apr 18 2013, 12:20 PM) Good to know. No wonder the 408T feels more like GTI and 308T feels more like CFE Too many variations on the Prince setup, though good to see the economics of scale trickling down to us consumers -- pugs nowadays very affordable NAZA has made Pugs affordable to Malaysian. To ensure Pugs continue to grow in Malaysia it is important to provide proper customer service & support. In the past this has been rather lacking. Serious efforts are made to improve with setup of Peugeot Blue Box SC nation wide. I'm sure there's room for further improvements. Good to know efforts are being made in the right direction. QUOTE(akimzz @ Apr 19 2013, 06:33 PM) Ya..ya..ya..Engine Oil level indicator..in manual mention the oil level can be shown at display panel..erm.. There's a continues system check going on all the time which is fed back to ECU. Should the oil level drop low, a OIL light flashes on the small display screen in between the instrument cluster, audio signal is triggered and a OIL LEVEL LOW message displayed on the MFD. This can come on anytime as long as the ignition is on. A random system check from the cockpit can be done anytime with the engine running. Momentarily press the check button below the speedo meter. CHECK OK comes on after the test if no faults. Final and most conclusive oil check is the manual visual dipstick.
