thinking of going for this ROM - [ROM 4.1.2] Du@lNote AOSP 4.0 [UBDLL3] due to its AOSP theme, yet samsung stock

recall someone mentioned of the similar ROM over here few post back. any 1 tried this huh?

btw, noticed the hissing sound while charging. after mush searching around, seems its normal (http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/samsung-galaxy-note-2-problems/). was thinking of getting a replacement already! lol.

just got my phone last Saturday. so far so good. dont have to keep on switching 2g / 3g to save batt (was using slimbean in my SGS). amen for the big batt cap
*
i'm using it

was just about to comment that upgrading to v4 of the rom is problematic.

i'm giong to reinstall without the redpill 1.01 and see how the random shutdowns affects it.

IS THIS TRUE guys ?

Samsung recently released a software update (N7100XXDLL7) to the Galaxy Note II and this update is reported to suffer from battery drain.

*Owners of the Galaxy Note II who installed the new software update reported us about the battery drain issue.
We of SamMobile have also tested the new firmware and we can confirm that the new update indeed drains the battery much faster than previous firmwares.

The new software update (N7100XXDLL7) fixes the infamous Exynos vulnerability,”Sudden Death” issue and resetcode bug but brings battery drain.

*Samsung itself did not give any comment on this issue*yet, we expect a new update based on Android 4.1.2 before the newer Android version 4.2.1 / 4.2.2 firmwares.

If you have the same problem with your Galaxy Note II please let us know in the comments!

thats great to hear, eH

btw, do they have an option to change the batt icons?
what do you think of the stock camera after flashing this ROM? still great?
(sry if i asked cuz back in my SGS dayz, i faced issue on 720p recording and camera after flashing custom ROMs)
i noted that it is still based on stock Samsung, thus i can assume the functionality, picture / video quality and all should still be the same right..

cheers

nope, you would need the simplistic framework control app for that

everything works as intended with extended basic functionality

What is small letter edge? For BlackBerry you mean?
That only happens if there is no BIS.

I plugged in my yoobao charger with the cable that yoobao supplied into the 2a slot and my current avg is 1100. looks like it's fake advertising? Anyone here with the same battery brick and please report your findings.

Hye..just want to share my charging testing..
-usb charging n ori charger use ori usb cable
-yoobao charging using yoobao cable..test with ori cable also same output..
-Qi wireless charging stated at the pad output is 1A..but u can see the result..
*
from my r&d, different cable have diff charging rate...!! with the same Charger.

my findings are :

A. Original N2 2.0A charger can supply up to 2.0A current without stress ( charger over stress/over current will lead to over heat & then kaboom... )
GCC_avg reading @1800mah means our note 2 only drawing 1.8A max for charging. even we have a 5A charger it will still draw 1.8A charging rate to charge.

1. Test result with Original N2 2.0A charger-test charge for 30 min only!!

a) original N2 usb cable with GCC_avg reading @ 1800mah normal warm
b) S2 car charger non ori usb cable GCC_avg reading @ 1000mah normal warm
c) htc look a like usb cable GCC_avg reading @ 400mah normal warm
d) my wife ori G.Wonders GT-i8150 usb cable GCC_avg reading @ 1800mah normal warm

2. Test result with Original TP link 1.0A usb charger-test charge for 30 min only!!

a) original N2 usb cable with GCC_avg reading @ 1200mah charger very warm
b) S2 car charger non ori usb cable GCC_avg reading @ 900mah normal warm
c) htc look a like usb cable GCC_avg reading @ 0mah
d) my wife ori G.Wonders GT-i8150 usb cable GCC_avg reading @ 1200mah charger very warm

3. Test result with Original G.Wonders GT-i8150 0.7A usb charger GCC_avg reading @ 700mah (accurate!!!) -test charge for five min only!!

4. Test result with Non Original G.Wonders GT-i8150 0.7A usb charger GCC_avg reading @ 300mah -test charge for five min only!!

just to share only...! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

is normal the charging rate drops slowly cos the amount of C to be charge in the batt is getting lesser.

Using ipad charger with stock samsung cable, i tested few days and tried on different battery percentage level

Plug in at 2% - avg 1300 mA wake up avg 1800
Plug in at 24% - avg 1500 mA wake up avg 1800
Plug in at 40% - avg 1600 mA wake up avg 1600

unlike samsung stock charger, 1800mA all the way
