QUOTE(benny888 @ Jan 25 2013, 10:31 PM) You can flash ANY rom you want as long as is N7100 rom. The base is not important as it will be over written by your new rom. You can downgrade or upgrade anytime you want irrespective what rom you are on. There is also NO necessity to flash back any stock rom to flash any rom whether official or customs OMG, this truly enlightens me! The only thing you cannot change is usually the baseband which will remain for most custom roms. Some custom roms however will auto change the baseband too. But nothing to worry as so far all baseband is working well here I really had the impression where if I download DLL7 official ROM, I have to find a custom ROM that is for DLL7. I didn't know any ROM can be used. |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Jan 25 2013, 11:00 PM) Is easy on Note 2. Only on the Note need to be careful as the kernel type is crucial especially if one wish to flash non TW based rom ( eg CM, AOKP type). Using a wrong kernel will lead to hard bricking. Such an issue does not exist in Note 2. You can happily flash to any CM10.1 roms on any kernels Got it! Am I right to say, it is safe that I could just download any custom ROM, so long it is 4.1.2? I don't need to bother if it is DLL7 or DMA5? |

Finally, I'm free now. Finished restoring, arranging, beautifying my pages.
Now, I'm pretty impressed with Thai firmware. Battery drop level is acceptable. That said I have downloaded Romow v2.5 but I just want to try out stock ROM + stock kernel and see how far it fares. All looks good for now and I'm pretty lazy to backup my stuffs for Romow, in the mean time gotta enjoy my new stock firmware. Thanks ant00 again for the keyboard with symbols zip file, turns out to be super useful for me. Now I don't need custom ROM for that. Though I know can manually change my file using Root Explorer but it didn't work for me. Thanks tot31 for the recommendation, indeed Thai firmware looks good. QUOTE(remonx @ Jan 26 2013, 02:05 AM) Gratz, show the benchmark of the new firmware for performance wise and battery after u tested. Looking forward to flash to thai firmware. u rooted with stock firmware already? Always rooted because I only use Mobile Odin Pro and clear my recovery to have intact root. QUOTE(tot31 @ Jan 26 2013, 02:08 AM) you are most welcome, indeed the Thai DMA5 is a bit better than DLL7 (hahaha. I am not sure whether this is a placebo effect Ya, even a bit better makes difference for me. Why don't you try out Swiftkey 4 Public beta. It has symbols on the keys as well as gesture support. Oh is it? But I want number pad on top as well. So, my current keyboard is just perfect for me. |

QUOTE(tot31 @ Jan 26 2013, 03:12 AM) BBS is very easy to use. I'm using the version 1.12RC6 xda edition. Can you be more specific on the BBS ? I think Chrome also can sync all bookmarks though I didn't try before. I have been a Firefox loyalist since Netscape and then changed to Mozilla, in fact on my desktop I am using Firefox as my default browser although I have Chrome installed. Firefox for android can sync all my bookmarks and tabs that are on my Firefox desktop. I was a Firefox loyalist as well but until about end of last year, my pages hardly move on my laptop. Gave up and switched to Chrome, surprisingly it loads my pages pretty well. No choice but to continue using Chrome.. Anyway, back to your BBS, your phone was in deep sleep for 1D+? |

QUOTE(tot31 @ Jan 26 2013, 03:21 AM) Oh, I thought you really put your phone sleep for continuous 1D... But that's a really impressive results. You still switch off mobile data and WiFi? Only switch them on when needed? I have a lot of WhatsApp messages, so no way to turn them off. QUOTE(Superman7 @ Jan 26 2013, 03:22 AM) Ya, just noticed that as well. But it is a 4.1.2 as that's the latest version for Galaxy Note II. This post has been edited by fruitie: Jan 26 2013, 03:25 AM |

QUOTE(tot31 @ Jan 26 2013, 03:28 AM) My Wifi and data will switch on automatically when my screen is on and they will off when the screen is off. I am not a Whatsapp junkie nor any social media thingy like FB, Twitter etc, hehehehehe.... I used to have that too when I tried Easy Battery Saver but I noticed my WiFi especially didn't turn on by its own when my screen was lit up... |

QUOTE(Superman7 @ Jan 26 2013, 03:30 AM) I think tot31 did show some stuffs in previous thread that indicate there are some differences.Anyway, I have just started to use it for few hours, so my opinion may not be that accurate. So far, the battery level drop in this firmware looks kinda OK. Of course, I will leave it to the spokesperson - tot31 to explain further. He is really good in all these. QUOTE(Superman7 @ Jan 26 2013, 03:33 AM) Worth a try. I was quite happy with DLL7 + Romow Extreme v1.0 but just itchy hands and wanna try other official ROM. Downloaded Romow v2.5 as well but still lazy to shift my stuffs. Let's see how this stock fares later and will decide to go custom or not. |

QUOTE(tot31 @ Jan 26 2013, 03:36 AM) You should use Deep Sleep Battery Saver Pro then. It works well for me. You can set it at any interval during your screen off to wake up your wifi to swich on. I just set it off means that whenever I switch on my screen, my wifi will auto connect and all my Whatsapp messages will be coming in. Cool. But can I set it that when my WiFi is switched off, my mobile data will be turned on? |

QUOTE(tot31 @ Jan 26 2013, 03:41 AM) yes, the flash counter will not be flagged if you flash any stock rom with PC Odin. Just a tip from me, backup all your important data and do a full wipe ( I always do this just to avoid any problems, I like to have a fresh clean start ) but actually you can just flash it without any wiping of your phone. Yes, me too always wipe clean everything. Either official or custom ROM. Wanna make sure I experience 0 issue.Eh this Thai firmware will not clean wipe? I think I read somewhere just now that it will clean wipe. I hope I read the wrong thing. |

QUOTE(Superman7 @ Jan 26 2013, 03:42 AM) downloading via hotfile is slow. Any torrent link for the DMA5 ROM? btw, resetting the flash counter via Triangleaway app still doesn't work with the new bootloader? Usually all these ROMs, they seldom have torrent links. I'm not familiar with TA, so can't help you but probably tot31 can. |

QUOTE(tot31 @ Jan 26 2013, 03:43 AM) Yes it controls both Wifi and Data but for me it seems that my Data will not turn off so I'm using 3G Manager to control the off and on of my Data. Good, I just need that when my screen is switched off, then data comes active. Once my screen is switched on, WiFi comes active and inactivate data if this logic works. But at least, my mobile data must be switched on all the time when my screen is off. |
