tot31's post makes me wanna update to Thai firmware.

But can I still flash to custom ROM after that? Any read custom ROM that compatible with this firmware? I'm still loving Romow.

Romow v2.5 is hosted using Google Docs. I'm totally speechless.

I really had the impression where if I download DLL7 official ROM, I have to find a custom ROM that is for DLL7. I didn't know any ROM can be used.

Got it! Am I right to say, it is safe that I could just download any custom ROM, so long it is 4.1.2? I don't need to bother if it is DLL7 or DMA5?

Back to nature, back to stock.
But with Thai firmware.
Flashed ant00's zip file for keyboard with symbols. Now that is more important to me.

Finally, I'm free now. Finished restoring, arranging, beautifying my pages.

Now, I'm pretty impressed with Thai firmware. Battery drop level is acceptable. That said I have downloaded Romow v2.5 but I just want to try out stock ROM + stock kernel and see how far it fares.

All looks good for now and I'm pretty lazy to backup my stuffs for Romow, in the mean time gotta enjoy my new stock firmware.

Thanks ant00 again for the keyboard with symbols zip file, turns out to be super useful for me. Now I don't need custom ROM for that. Though I know can manually change my file using Root Explorer but it didn't work for me.

Always rooted because I only use Mobile Odin Pro and clear my recovery to have intact root.

I think Chrome also can sync all bookmarks though I didn't try before.
I was a Firefox loyalist as well but until about end of last year, my pages hardly move on my laptop. Gave up and switched to Chrome, surprisingly it loads my pages pretty well. No choice but to continue using Chrome..

You still switch off mobile data and WiFi? Only switch them on when needed?
I have a lot of WhatsApp messages, so no way to turn them off. After all, I want to enjoy my phone too.

But it is a 4.1.2 as that's the latest version for Galaxy Note II.

I used to have that too when I tried Easy Battery Saver but I noticed my WiFi especially didn't turn on by its own when my screen was lit up...

I think tot31 did show some stuffs in previous thread that indicate there are some differences.
Anyway, I have just started to use it for few hours, so my opinion may not be that accurate.
So far, the battery level drop in this firmware looks kinda OK.

Of course, I will leave it to the spokesperson - tot31 to explain further. He is really good in all these.

Worth a try.
I was quite happy with DLL7 + Romow Extreme v1.0 but just itchy hands and wanna try other official ROM.
Downloaded Romow v2.5 as well but still lazy to shift my stuffs. Let's see how this stock fares later and will decide to go custom or not.

Yes, me too always wipe clean everything. Either official or custom ROM. Wanna make sure I experience 0 issue.
Eh this Thai firmware will not clean wipe? I think I read somewhere just now that it will clean wipe. I hope I read the wrong thing.

Usually all these ROMs, they seldom have torrent links.
I'm not familiar with TA, so can't help you but probably tot31 can.

Good, I just need that when my screen is switched off, then data comes active. Once my screen is switched on, WiFi comes active and inactivate data if this logic works.
But at least, my mobile data must be switched on all the time when my screen is off.
