Would appreciate advice here.
My newly acquired SME Note2 is a few days old. Unrooted, unflashed. It is still on 4.1.1. When I tried to update, it informed that it is the latest fw. Could it be that I have not registered the phone yet?
TQ.

QUOTE(tot31 @ Jan 27 2013, 03:14 PM) Samsung has already pulled out the 4.1.2 update because of the battery draining issue. You are not missing anything on this 4.1.2, nothing special actually. It was just a minor update only 0.0.1 increment. Just enjoy your Note 2. Thanks. That being the case, I would not have features like multi-view amongst others which is what I am interested in. Sad.

QUOTE(XaViErX @ Jan 27 2013, 03:22 PM) Multi-view is not a feature from 4.1.2 Hold down the back key to enable multi-view Thanks but I was referring to the dual screen mode which I believe is called multi-view available under the 4.1.2 upgrade. Correct me if I am wrong.

QUOTE(solsekuin44 @ Jan 27 2013, 11:26 PM) I knew it already What I am trying to say is there is a possibility that 4.1.2 may still be available. But of course I am not sure. Reasons I say this are : 1. Went to a Samsung store this afternoon and was told that it is still available (Of course it has been known that some of them do not know what they are talking about). 2. I have yet to register my phone and it could be due to this that it is not available to my unit yet. Will be doing so to see if I can after that.

QUOTE(noelneb @ Jan 28 2013, 12:47 AM) Got my N2 yesterday and just started playing around with it. Noticed at the notifcation bar can only set Sound, Vibrate or Mute. Even when I have set the Sound+vibration in the settings->sound, but the notification bar i still don see sound+vibrate that i can set, so now my calls and msg comes with sound and no vibrate. How to enable sound+vibrate then? You set that under Sound in Settings. Perhaps after setting, you should restart the phone. For message vibrate, I think you have to go into Messaging setting to select vibrate under notification. This post has been edited by PeeEl: Jan 28 2013, 01:50 AM

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 29 2013, 10:32 AM) Good. Maxis has started to impose quota on my plan, used to be unlimited. Now it is just 30GB, so need to plan my Internet activities. My sisters love to stream from their Note II and iPhone, so I was thinking to stop them from doing that. Since whatever they stream, I already have a downloaded copy in my laptop, thought of sharing with them and upload to their mobile phones. So it could save my bandwidth a bit. Can Maxis do that or anyone for that matter? How can they 'change the goal-post half way into the game'? And is there any change in the charges?

QUOTE(antt00 @ Jan 29 2013, 11:09 AM) As long as there is no contract, they can impose it anytime they want. She said Maxis had imposed quota on her plan. By that I assume a contract had been signed, hence my question.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 29 2013, 11:12 AM) I'm not sure but mine was registered way long time ago, in 2009. Someone in Maxis thread is doing this and preparing a lawsuit against Maxis, we do however have evidence that no quota should be implemented to our plan. You guys may have a case. On legality, it all boils down to the fine prints of whatever documents that were executed when you signed up for the plan in question. From the limited knowledge that I possess, on the principle of commercial practice, it cannot be done especially when you have had the 'benefits' for a long period of time. But then again, I could be mistaken.

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Jan 29 2013, 11:26 AM) even if you sign contract, usually there is also T&C which would state they can change terms & conditions anytime (possible with some notice period). usually there is also a fair usage clause. these two is enuff to allow most telco to change and impose quota. unifi first had quota. after kena complaint, quota was temporarily removed. if i'm not mistaken, TM have put in T&C that will allow them to impose quota at any time. but for now, i guess they will not impose any. That is what I meant by fine prints. In the early years, I believe there are no qualifications or escape clause which is why I mentioned what I stated. Again, a caveat...I could be wrong.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 29 2013, 11:28 AM) Actually I have no faith that the users will win, so I'm taking precautions steps now. Like limiting usage and have another contingency plan. You are correct in doing that but I would not take it lying down, if it were me. Good luck if you are pursuing the matter.

QUOTE(eddmecha @ Jan 30 2013, 10:23 AM) [attachmentid=3287963] joytest this is what I said last nite...one of the pin is gone I take it that you have not been following the threads diligently. If you have you would have read that the charging cable comes in two variants. One is with 4 pin, the other with 5. They are perfectly ok. Why is it so? I don't know. And I don't think anyone here knows. If someone does, I would like to know as well.

Mate, don't misunderstand. No crucification whatsoever here. Just an endeavour to afford you an answer to your query. QUOTE(brijesh.ratnani @ Feb 1 2013, 10:15 AM) Alright bro. Thanks a lot. If not sandisk, what is the common approved brand and model by all you Note 2 lovers ? SanDisk is the most popular and because of this it is cloned. There are other brands like Apacer, Kingston and Kingmax which are still ok including DNA which has been reported to be working just as well despite the perceived low standard.

QUOTE(tanlipseong @ Feb 1 2013, 01:58 PM) of those Sandisk went for RMA, are they all genuine sandisk? Sorry, but your statement is oxymoron. If not genuine, can RMA? I have claimed once for my 32gb class10. However, I really do not know how to tell the difference between genuine and fake ones. Even with the proof of originality sticker, there is no way I can differentiate.
