This.

Wireless broadband are not meant to replace your fixed broadband.
You're mobile user cannot apply landline? stop whining live with the quota then.
The telco companies don't have to please everyone to carry on with their business.

Accept the fact guys, your 'threatening' won't have any effect on Maxis, I believe they're well prepared before performing the cap.  flex.gif
Even if whole LYN Maxis subscribers terminate their subscription, Maxis will still be there.  icon_idea.gif

And no, I don't work for Maxis/telco companies.
I jut love to see people suffer sometimes.  rolleyes.gif

This is 2013, years of more mobile connected ages than ever.
Cellphones & tablets are dominating the market now.
Even kids have then nowadays, so good compared to our old times.

Anyway, I don't have a friggin' CABLE at my kampung! vmad.gif Not everyone are so lucky.

Welp, I don't mind people b****ing about it, I don't mind the 30GB cap either. But I do mind when the speed I got only quarter of the speed before 30GB cap. What's your excuse, Maxis?

Bolded part for reference.

Unlike you, and probably where you live, some forumers don't have the luxury of being able to apply for a land line. This includes me. Where I live, the only viable Telcos are Celcom, and Maxis. Others aren't even in the picture. Not YES, no P1, not U-Mobile, not even ffs DiGi. And certainly not Telekom, Astro&Maxis land-line based services.

Am I reliant on mobile services? YES.
Am I not happy with Maxis's changes? HELL YES.
However,
Am I discriminatory against land-line users? HELL NO.

and,
did i made an assumption that we need to have a landline? DEFINITELY NO.

Probably you said that in ignorance, however I'll just point out not all parts of Malaysia are properly given coverage of land-line / semi-mobile broadband coverage.

If the Time fibre were available in my hometown, I'll take the most expensive plan and ditch Maxis. But, as you can see, their coverage sucks big time!

Hmm, Time? If not because I frequently saw their office near the Satok bridge there (Kuching), I don't even know they still exists nowadays.

Last few weeks I was still so happy with Maxis. I went so friggin' far to some hutan that you hardly find a house in 1km radius, still got Maxis signal. Good work keep us connected...

Then... this 3G crap news came shakehead.gif Dunno want to congratz then on their expansion in East Malaysa or bash them now.

why maxis cs are always funny? biggrin.gif

cs 1 told me that my account has 5gb quota and usage is 250mb.

cs 2 told me that my account has 30gb quota and usage is 2gb.

cs 3 told me that my account is udp, don't worry just surf it as you can.

Are they using different system to check? doh.gif

I'm purely wireless powered on Maxis broadband and iDigi on my phone actually, no landline. smile.gif

What I'm trying to convey is just, human live till today due to their strong adeptability.
Capped at 30gb? Don't watch youtube at 1080p, I personally tried 720p and don't notice it differs much on my 23' screen. doh.gif Download 480p/720p drama/animes/podcast/whatever cast or shits.

Capped to 3gb?
Then it had reached a states where its ridiculous, just switch provider. sweat.gif

Cannot brain still how to finish 30gb in one month.

Asian mentality always make me doh.gif

^ bro, or whatever, I not sure what you watch on Youtube, maybe just a few funny clips and Gangnam Style. But I watch long hours of national geography documentaries, sports coverages such as WRC, tech commentaries, all on 360p only. But that already can consume gigs of download.

30GB is a so small numbers for users like me.

Sure, if you triple/quadruple my monthly income then I will go buy more quota or register multiple plans.

@office got Streamyx? Sure, 1mbps. I don't even want to tap on that, later the office girl cry lagging so bad.

to be frank, 30gb is not too bad. but the problem here is, they promised unlimited. if they mentioned 30gb in the first place, then, there will not be any problem at all.

and after sign 2 years contract, they changed the terms and condition. yes, they can do that. might as well give 50mb right? its their right, no? since when signing the contract makes us their b**** ?

Sounds like your package is not legacy, like mine. If so, Maxis stated that it's 3GB or 5GB only, they never promise unlimited quota for it.
