It is there to minize glare..... smile.gif smile.gif

but should u decide to turn it OFF...u can always do dat.....just next to the light (green color) at the rear view mirror...there is a switch...press it ONCE...and it will turn OFF....when OFF....no more "green color light" at the rear view mirror....

just curious why u want to turn it OFF.....??? hmm.gif

Hi Sifus/Gurus/Masters,

I am new to this MyForte forum and hope to learn a thing or two from all. Here is my question: Every time when I start engine, the rearview mirror antiglare system will be ON by default, is there a way to turn it off permanently until I need it on? Please kindly help.

Thanks

P/S: Forte 1.6 EX

Default is ON, you have to manually OFF it

Have anyone of you replace your stock spare tyre to smaller, save-space, lighter as below?

They worry we dont carry heavy things ... I guess...

Oh, I will leave it on during the night, but during the day I just wanna turn off things that I don't use for saving on their lifespan and also the electricity consumption (although it makes very little difference). Furthermore I always put on my sunglasses whenever I drive during the day.

Well, there is no way to set it to OFF by default I guess. Anyway, thanks for all the responses.

No need to off. It is useful not only night time. Even morning sunrise and sunset, it helps me a lot when the sun shine from back... This is good safety feature!!!

I was also thinking of getting an alarm system, but those thieves, if they want to steal, what kinda lock / alarm you put also they will angkut your car away one.

I'm actually looking for those type that you call in and they help immobilize your car. Those that you pay some yearly fees.. On the plus side, these alarm systems can be ported over to your new car if you want biggrin.gif Hence, one day (in my dreams), when i get a Ferrari, I'll shift it there tongue.gif but right now... no moneh sad.gif

If you happen to install inform me as well. I was thinking of it too. But again yeah the warranty is a pain. Install them definitely will void all the electronic parts warranty. later on any auto feature or function in the car breakdown also cannot claim. susah.

I would say this is a driver's convenience feature.. it doesn't contributes anything to the safety..

You're wrong! Imaging you have problem with your eyes and then the car from the back ... or sunlight glare your eyes .. that will make you very painful to drive and anytime will cause accident. If you want to change lane, sometimes, you want to check your back also and sunlight sometimes will block you from seeing the rear mirror clearly.

I can manually push the tiny lever forward at the bottom center of rear view mirror promptly by hand to avoid glare in conventional vehicles.. electrochromic rear view mirror like in Forte automatically does just that hands-free.. now would it be still considered added convenience to the driver instead of safety.. ?
