I am going 2nd tank for preve. First tank only can go 293. 2nd tank now half tank left and just go 145km only. Is it the fc will get better in high mileage? Kind of scary fc. Sigh...
*
If you are on short distance travel everyday in city, eg 5 to 7km per trip, that's actually a normal FC for CFE.
CFE FC is bad in short distance travel.

Wow..why too high fc...last time i fill up my cfe preve full tank can go from changlun till kl..still got 1 bar left which stated on the odometer 105km left. That time my mileage is 6k.

do u always travel in heavy traffic? Or u a heavy footer type...i travel at 120-140km/h.
*
Bro, yours basically highway driving.
Try average speed of 22km/h city driving, average 5km per trip.

Darkcloudz, RM75 to RM80 fuel for 300km has no where to go near 50cent/km...... doh.gif

Any of you guys here know a reputable place to install a reverse camera on the preve? I dont know any reputable shops around Subang/KL which sells CCD, all I asked only have CMOS.
*
Actually not necessary CMOS camera is bad in lowlight....
Try google for CMOS and CCD technology, to me its more on the manufacturer will do.

Many shops can actually help you to install the reverse camera, as long as they are not tempering the wire.
For those who are not aware how should the camera installed on the car to have warranty intact, the actual process is to tap the wire on the original wirehardness.

Tapping is allowed, tempering? No. Basically installer will peel off the wire rubber cover and tap the wire on top of it.

To those who are changing audio HU, I can also share the info how installer do to your car so that warranty will intact even if you change the HU. If you guys need such info, as I think most audio shops won't share with you into such details.

I travel over 20km per trip everyday. Basically i am in my car at least 6 hour perday.
*
That's very bad in FC, what fuel you are using now? What grade of engine oil you are using?
For your case, u should be recording something near 400km for around 40litre fuel.

I'm recording around 330km with 40litre of fuel, average 22km/h, full city driving.

Either you have a bad hand or whatever, show us the video uploaded on youtube.
If you can do that, Proton engineers and Racechip maker will be a big joke for sure. rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

Hence why many of us did our reverse camera at EA Autoworks. Their workmanship is excellent. Their price is a bit higher, but I didn't mind that due to their superior workmanship. You also did your sound proofing at EA Autoworks right?
*
Ya, I did my STP front doors (audio package) over there, coz I was told Howie does provide good workmanship on the STP installation. I have yet to see any STP installer in Ipoh though. Oh ya, the Ultra Racing bars too.
Others, I did in Ipoh with my own installers.

EA is targeting the niche market anyway, for those who can find good workmanship with cheaper price elsewhere will not be a big issue anyway. Always keep the option open because I have a friend who did his much cheaper outside, with good workmanship.

!st tank i dunno what SA pump, 2nd tank i am using shell. I have no idea what engine oil from proton also.
*
I have the best FC with BHP fuel. Good power and FC.
Somehow a friend of mine mentioned that Shell does give good FC on highway, no power though in town driving...

Preve is recommended to use 10w30 APL SM grade engine oil, you shall go for first service soon, right? Aim for 5w30, 10w30 or 10w40 grade of engine oil. Be it semi or fully synthetic.

I will avoid Petronas Syntium 1000 fully synthetic (15w50) at all cost.

Just finished my 1st tank of petrol in 3 days, 464km with 70% highway 30% city, is it ok for cfe? This evening when traveling at jalan maarof in bangsar, the engine sound very loud when went downhill without pedal, is that normal?
*
If you ask me, that's a good FC for CFE. Anything near to 500km for around 40litre is good. I have no idea how some members can achieve 600km per tank....

If u have the budget, cfe then. Not just the turbocharged engine but also other safety feature.

QUOTE(diadokmai @ Feb 4 2013, 05:20 AM)
can u gv a reason why u will avoid syntium fully 1000 15W50 at all cost?

i just used it at my 10k service...currently the performance is excellent...much more better than my last 10W40 semi sythetic oil which is tried on my preve with petronas synthium 800 10W40 (1k service) and  Shell Helix HX7 E (6k Service) . this is my first time using the petronas fully EO. some said 15W50 will make u car feel heavier...in my case i didnt even slighyly feel heavier than previous 10W40..but feel my cfe preve much lighter with 15W50 petronas fully 1000 oil ...and smoothier
i personally like Mobil 1 EO.even fill up fuel i never ever go to petronas station since my preve cfe been bought last year..always go to esso or petron station..and go to BHP sometimes if no esso station nearby...but just tried the petronas EO...and i thinks thier fully 1000 EO is ok for me, not like what other people said lo..maybe this is result from my comparation to semi petronas and shell EO...but overall it satisfied me.
im not a petronas Fan boy..just wondering the reason behind your statement.

my next target Mobil1 EO..if got more money..

syntium 1000 is the heaviest fully synthetic oil I can find from Petronas.

You actually have answered your own question. 15w50 is heavier, to me is a lot heavier.
Me using 5w30, another friend using 10w40 test drove a friend CFE with 15w50, we feel the 15w50 equipped CFE is sluggish in pick up.
Its heavy oil as compared to Syntium 3000, etc. And also why it is cheapest fully synthetic oil from Petronas, right?

I have no idea why you feel lighter with 15w50 over 10w40 but theoretically and scientifically, it isn't so. And my butt dyno told me it isn't so either.

perhaps they give u syntium 3000 with a syntium 1000 label? tongue.gif

Test drove my friend CFE from Gombak to Bentong, the car acceleration is bad....
And he wanted to switch back to 10w30 in the next service soon.

I have good experience with 5w30, 10w30 on my previous ride but never try something above 15wXX as mine all city driving. I need the good acceleration.
Again, new oil will always feel great no matter how. wink.gif

*
For the time being no, and I think very much unlikely it will come.
Preve is meant to be target young executives and executives who just started their families.

Its never aimed to be a sporty sedan.
Just like how Proton position Gen2 and Persona.

How the petrol vs money wise? Considering to get this car
*
Fully town driving with average 22km/h would give you around 23cent/km
Fully highway, should give you 15cent/km?
Some even recorded an impressive 13.5cent/km for this C segment vehicle

Front speakers slow? U mean the volume low?
I would suggest set the fader to front (ignore the back). You shall get better soundstage, else just straight away disconnect the rear speakers. wink.gif

In my opinion, i found cruise control driving experience very boring and consume more petrol n not comfort to drive...
*
Its boring to drive but a friend of mine did mentioned that with auto cruise, rpm level is slightly lower than pedal press. I have never really comparing them myself as I just whack all the way. Auto cruise to me, mainly more set the datum @ 110km/h and accelerate/brake whenever I want and then resume back to the 110km/h swiftly.

i tried duplicate it before, but HU failed to detect my duplicate SD Card.. i think there is some sort of encryption used inside the SD file system that prevent it from being copied.. didn't try image copy though.. maybe someone could try that..

but people told the map can be updated like external gps is a surprise news to me too..
*
Any SOS of modifying the CFE gps?

Try image copy, it may works. wink.gif
I do not have a microSD card reader with me now, else I can try image copy for you and upload into dropbox

QUOTE(sp3d2 @ Feb 6 2013, 09:42 PM)
guys. do you have tucking sound issues at rear seat or car boot? my preve sounds like there are plastic which is not fixed properly. i have send it to proton center. they did tightened the suspension and car exhaust but the sound still there.

i also tried to check the seat, unfold it and everything is fine. this is really annoying. it sounds like 10 years old car. anyone can help?
*
It was the rear speaker board I believe.
Take it out, put some clothes on the two clips are without foam.

Then the clips (plastic) will not direct hit the metal frame, hence the sound gone.
