Most high end Androids are firstly COMPUTERS with a phone function, and secondarily a camera.

Nokias were/are (in the case of Pureview) Cameras with a phone function and secondarily a PDA. Similarly the Nokia N8.

hmm.gif doesn't that sound like the Galaxy Camera???

Select ALL contacts, then BLUETOOTH over to your spanking new GN2.

I did that with my last nokia.

Unless you're using something very old.

SMS, it's quite an involved procedure. I just used PC/Ovi Suite to backup everything, then keep a copy of nbu explorer if you get hit by nostalgia. I didn't transfer my sms.

Oh. I was also using an N8.

In that case, export all contacts to CSV and import to Google, then sync to your new phone.

For sms, just leave it there and use nbu explorer.

Nokia suite can save messages as vmg files, but it is very hard to manage because it saves them according to your subject line.

All I can say is you can export your contacts quite easily, but not your sms. That is why I found nbu explorer.

Did you backup via the S-Cloud sync or something like that?

That is why I stopped using S-Note and used HandyNote, where I back up the data folder via foldersync to my PC. Your own data should be portable among your devices.

you can always check sammobile or dr ketan's thread for stock roms in xda. he's really good and has the time to spare for stuff like this despite being an ent surgeon.

depends on the type of rom. those based on stock will retain the samsung apps. those based on aosp will not.
