QUOTE(arslow @ Jan 18 2013, 02:29 AM)
and I'm wondering since when does updating kernel version gives more performance.....the only thing it does it make future android versions easier to port for those devices. Google is planning to slowly merge both mainline Linux kernel and android kernel in time, which is all only for compatibility and not performance lol. Unless there are some OTHER stuffs which get introduced in Linux which so happens would make Android run better somehow, but requires a higher kernel version to be supported then yeah, a new kernel might bring better performance but its not because of the kernel version itself....
*
Actually the kernel can influence performance. In my limited knowledge from having casually used linux over the last 15 years, the compiler flags can optimise the binary for your target architecture, and can provide up to a 10% performance boost. You can compile the kernel from source for YOUR OWN PC and it will give you at least 5% boost.

Sometime last year the Linaro group provided some ARM optimisations that nearly doubled linux performance on ARM, and i think they provided this back to the community. That is why you see some kernel chefs state they have ARMEABI optimisations with linaro flags.

note 2 charger is rated 2A.

i think that's already high... dun think there's any that is higher than 2A for gadgets...

if you want 'instant battery', perhaps you can look into getting a 2nd battery instead. that way, plug in when you need new battery... and charge the old one.
*
I have seen a 5V 3A charger for some kind of router. But if our friend needs minimal charge downtime, a spare battery will be better for him.

not rooted yet.

OTA says no update. oh well, what to do... mati2 must have 32GB Note 2. so now, stuck with this one... :S

but ya, i've not tried Kies yet and no intention to. dun wanna install it on my notebook. last time i did that, it killed my Windows (BSOD everytime i shutdown Windows).
*
Why don't you install just the Samsung USB drivers? The Note2 rooting toolkit has it. With that you can at least connect it to your PC for MTP transfers.

[PEDANT]

bare (adj) means lacking clothing, naked, exposed to view, or lacking adornment.
bare (v) means to make bare, to uncover, or to expose

bear it - phrasal verb - tahan

[/PEDANT]

Very common error. tongue.gif

have anyone here bought a lamborghini flip case for their phone? want to know if the quality is good or not

IMHO, if it doesn't cover the entire bezel, whatever perceived "quality" will not amount to much. Obviously you pay for the merchandising markup to use the Lamborghini name.

Petaling street? Or a 1:16 scale model? tongue.gif

It seems that the classic car used in the last James Bond movie was 3D printed to a slightly smaller scale than the real thing for all the destructive scenes. Nobody had any more real ones to spare.

So, when 3D printing gets mainstream I think we can all mod/design our own cars. rclxm9.gif

its a flip cover so i think i should cover the entire bezel. the thing is, im looking for cover that uses genuine leather so that it can last longer. my current one kalaideng brand are pretty beat up already after 1 month of usage. my last htc phone uses genuine leather case from capdase and hell it last for years of abuse untill i actually lost that phone cry.gif .
so right now my option are either case from zenus or this one since both of them stated they are using genuine leather not synthetic one and for zenus it is priced at rm170-190 iinm and this lamborghini from imobo are priced at rm150
*
I've not seen a flip case so far that covers the entire bezel. They all leave a strip at the top and bottom for aesthetic purposes.

This:
http://www.melkco.com/scripts/main/viewite...2BKLC-NOTE.html

is a real flip case. Unfortunately they don't have one yet for Note2.

Most flip cover or diary case have hard case inside to hold the phone . So if it's a hard case inside , how are you gonna remove your phone if it's completely covered ? Same goes to back case , it will not cover every part of the bezel unless it's TPU/silicon case . As for flip and diary case , there are a few makers who made the phone holder out of leather like what our taiko joytest posted , Melco . Since it's soft , it's possible to cover it complete . At the same time , there are disadvantages to it as well . Being soft , your phone tend to move around a bit in the case . Sometimes , your speaker holes get covered or u find it hard to press the edges of the screen as the case is in the way , covering it slightly .
*
I used the melkco for my Note1. It had the occasional movement, but nothing major that couldn't be solved by a quick squeeze at the side to push the phone back in place.

There's also a Korean seller going by Jaclyn or Jacklyn that makes these full body flip cases with wallet features.

We shall leave Sony Z TS to his vices and devices..... reading his replies actually causes confusion and he just humbugs it then backtracks and tries to cover his ass. At least KuLi did not confuse, he simply insulted.
