I was about to post my comment to their advert in Creative Homes, however after I submitted, it says 'awaiting moderation/approval'. So I guess my comments to them will never make it to reader's knowledge at all. Here's my comments to post on their advert....

The following serves an information for some of you guys who ever considered Signature Kitchen at the first place..

Signature Kitchen is a big NO NO for me even with the budget I have. I first walked in to the TTDI branch.. Noone came to assist me and my husband. The staffs were busy chatting among themselves at the table, so I had to call for help from one of them!! Dealt with Rachel who didn't look too happy at first (that's fine, cos I probably interrupted their interesting conversation - but I still think that's not how it should be as I feel they should at least greet customers with a HI or WELCOME). About Rachel - she didn't bother to explain much about any products to me when I asked about the different table top materials, etc. But I remember her pointing to my MYvi car parked outside, saying 'It's just like buying a car, depending on the money you invest, that shall be the quality you get'. Fine - fair point! But in my opinion I think it was rude to begin with; whether she has said that intentionally or not. Then she copied our floor plan and said will get back with a quote in 2 weeks. I called back once or twice after 3 weeks, but she was always out for fair or had an appointment. I left my number each time with her colleagues so she could call me back - but never did she. I called a few more times for status updates, even leaving my number, my husband's number... still nothing from them. That's when I decided THAT'S IT! Until I saw this advert from Signature Kitchen that says “professional consultancy”, it starts boiling my blood again. I decided to call to their hotline to let them know how disappointed I was with their service. Spoke to the product manager apparently, who said he will investigate this matter and get back to me in 2 days. FYI, it's been more than 2 weeks now, but I'm still not hearing from anyone yet. I'm really curious to find out what has happened to my floor plan and quote - I seriously don't need their service anymore now that I've engaged another, but all I want to hear back is to understand what exactly has happened – did they really think I can’t afford their kitchens?!
Would you even dare to think what will be the after-sales service like, say your BLUM soft close mechanism doesn't work as expected, so on and so forth?? So, need I say more?

Seriously Signature Kitchen, regardless of how good your product may be, if the service is going to be like this, trust me, one of the days YOU will lose out to all YOUR competitors. It's no wonder people say YOUR sales representatives get enough commission by just closing 3 deals of RM50,000 each in a month, so there's no need of more customers. I guess that's very true..

Good sharing. Really hates those cocky seller that look down on customers. Shame on that branch for hiring lousy quality staff. Small companies also can do awesome job.

I supposed you were unlucky to get this particular staff to serve u. I have used them before but i signed up during a home fair. The guy who served me was pretty good and responsible and always picked up my calls. On their quality and workmanship, I generally do not have issues, met my expectations. But in hindsight the price i paid was of course much higher than if i were to engaged other carpenters.

I also went to SIgnatuer Kitchen to their factor/showroon in Kota Dsara. The service i got was great. Cappucino and bsicuits while discussing my plan. The whole quotation received was RM 42k (which scared me) then was informed can get good discount during Homedec in KLCC. SO i packed my wife and baby went to Klcc early in teh morning to avoid crowd and tehy gave me a RM1,300 discount. Was so dissapointed used another KC provider about RM 12 k less . Wasted my time only smile.gif
They are ridiculosly priced.

They either have too good business, or if your kitchen is small that they know they can't make a lot of profit out of you.

But why sig kitchen , to me they're just some overprice kitchen contractor.

good point. i was wearing short n sliper when i went to new house show unit. most of them just ignored me (perhap i look like a student) until here come a sale lady who attended to me and showed me a smile face and never looked down on me. i was happy with her service. after a day of consideration, i decided to buy the unit which is worth more than half a million. so i went back to sales gallery and looked for her. but she was on leave tat day. then i left and went back again the next day just to look for her to seal the purchase as im happy tat she earn the commission from my purchase.

Totally agree with you guys. Service is everything in that industry but sadly its quite lacking.
Considered signature kitchen but for the price i got quoted and i even had to look for a sales person to attend to my enquiries i honestly doubt i would ever again consider their services.

I hv engage Unity Kitchen for my KC.I hv to say that I got enough attention although both Erny n Patrick are super busy.I value my time n I can tell u that they are quite punctual n take effort to drive all the way to Cyberjaya several times to measure. They are quite patient with the changes I make.
However,I hv yet to complete my whole KC journey! All I can say is so far so good!
If they manage to complete my KC satisfactory... I will share my review here!!
Wish me luck...

But signature kitchen design is very nice. Though their price is expensive, was wondering whether other carpenter can copy the design with much lower price?

Saw their advertisements on Astro a few times. Apparently this company is from Singapore. Never crossed my mind to look for them cause I know they are definitely expensive. Out of my range.

Btw, I drive Kelisa, and also wear bermudas and t-shirt. Went to Sri Petaling SenQ and HLK a week back, walked-in, look-see, walked-out, no one entertained us. All sales persons were talking among themselves. Maybe they are thinking, "Poor old man, sure won't buy anything" Lol. Good service is rare in Malaysia. They either follow me like a hawk, or totally ignore me, not sure which is better.

Yeah agree ikea design is also quite nice. Somemore with 25 years warranties but their price r not cheap either. Small kitchen for condo can easily set you back more than 10k. Needless to say if your kitchen size is big like link house or superlonk.

Yes, some time when I go to shopping, the sale person also sitting there and chit chatting until I walk up to them and ask for assistant they only come to me.
frankly, I think a lot of sales person in malaysia have this kind of attitude.
A lot of consumer as you n me have bad experience with those sales assistant too.
I think they really need to improve themselves and should put more effort with their work.
may be the person wear t-shirt, pants & slipper is millionaire, who knows?

I spent a lot of time doing frequent trips and loading stuffs from the Ikea As Is. Managed to get this for about 7k, not including the appliances and the porcelain sink. There are ways to get cheaper kitchen smile.gif

No idea where I keep the original pic. This is the one that I keep in flickr. Think yours is definitely doable. I imagine using the 60cm wide high cabinet, maybe can use similar to mine (the one with the oven) if you want to stack the dryer on top of your front loading machine. Or use the higher cabinet.

BTW, I designed my kitchen first and look for what I wanted in the As Is and brought home a few pieces at a time. Some cabinets I bought new. After that, I got the ikea staff to draw the design, ask for a quotation to assemble, and get the contractor from Ikea to assemble for me. I saved about 4-5k from the original quotation that I got from Ikea.

That's my strategy. Wear short pants and bargain with them. Then give them the price I want. If can't, i will leave them my contact and tell them if can offer the price I want then call me.

Surprisingly, it works most of the time. Coz sales hard to do. If they want hit target or what or no sales in certain month or day. .. They will definitely call you up. Haha.

I'm doing some survey on the KC for my new house and i like to go around those shop to ask question and some estimate pricing. Some of the shop when they know you are asking question on pricing or too many questions they will react one kind or they think you are not the potential customer mad.gif . I did went to the SK branch at IOI and is ok. I was attended by 2 personel and 1 is the ID designer (She gave me her name card). She explained all the questions i asked and show me their laminated door types. As i went there with my colleague (Both male) and he asked about those installation process and she patiently explained to him. Another i went was aino kitchen at Sunway, the sales guy also quite friendly by explaining me about their product and estimate pricing for 1 normal module. tongue.gif

For your information, we provide quality materials and accessories as good as signature kitchen and ikea or even better, but at a more affordable pricing as we do not do any branding. We also offer high quality workmanship with mainly Chinese experienced workers. We emphasis on customer satisfaction and there will be no hidden charges too!

Feel free to browse our website at Built In Furniture for more information.

10 years warranty but how is the after sales service? Will they come onsite to service? How is the T&C, those have to take into consideration.

10 years warranty is normally just an advertising tool. You can be free from worry as we only use quality materials with high quality workmanship.

Charges depends on the type of materials you used, even for formica, it can range from RM50 psf to RM500 psf. It all depends what materials you would like to use. As we focus on custom made furniture, we don't have specified pricing for a module. If you would like to do a like-to-like comparison, you could contact us with the exact measurement and specification and we will give a quotation. Then you will know whether we are charging exorbitantly or reasonable. cool2.gif

If it's a genuine faulty from our side, definitely we will definitely provide the necessary after sales service.

Hi all, just to share similar experience in this post. I'll start with cooker hood hob and oven. My bad experience was at taipan the row with few appliances shop. Namely HLK ESH Onking and forgot another. That night I was just after work and still wearing uniform (factory uniform same for bangla till gm directors).

All this so call chain store doesnt seems to serve a factory worker(not a factory worker). All is either busy talking near entrance or dont look me buying anythg. Finally the last shop I visited a lady approached me and straight away introduce me a never heard b4 brand with 3 items 2k. Then she asked bout my budget which I reveal is more than double of what she is offering. Too bad that branch doesn't offer what I am looking for.

Based on hood hob n oven, builders hardware kepong n jf appliances gave me really good service.

Now I am looking for kitchen cabinet. So far Unity and DFormat providing good service during first visit but I yet receive the design and quotation. But defilio is a never go for me. The first question they asked was how much other company offering and followed with our 3g door is more expensive compare to others. I was patient enough to keep the conversation going for asking all the necessary. Between, They would ask 10% before measurement. Another 40% upon 3d design and full payment atleast a day before the KC is installed.

Looking forward for a good experience golden carpentry and everskill for this weekend.

Wish me luck.

My neighbor installed signature kitchen.. same material as ikea (chipboard - inside cabinet). Just the door is very nice, joints use high quality material. I dont see why need 20k+ for kitchen cabinets.
Yup. Agreed. My first and only experience with Signature Kitchen was very pleasant. Me and wifey went to Home Dec and initially planned only to do our wet kitchen which is 11 feet long and with a small L at the end for a sink. Cost about 10k including all fittings (Franke sink and taps, Ariston hood, hob etc) for their Finoline laminated series with their cheapest corian hardtop glacier white. Further on, after much deliberation, we decided to change our U shape dry kitchen with small island in the middle as well since new wet kitchen and old dry kitchen does not go too well. Cost 20k with the same Finoline laminated series with glacier white corian hardtop. They allowed me to used back my oven, kitchen hob and hood for the dry kitchen and I just have to provide them the model / dimensions of my kitchen appliances.

Anyway, the thing here is sometimes the sales people can make or break a company's name. It just takes ONE bad sales person and the whole company is made out to be bad which is actually incorrect. I have my fare share of bad sales people and sometimes it makes the purchasing experience sour even though the company and product is good. All along I always thought Signature Kitchen is only for the rich (which they do have and me and my wife dare not ask for their high end line which we saw at their Kota Damansara showroom) but they do have their affordable line to cater for the medium range as well.

Probably it's just about luck as u getting a sux salesperon.

I went to HOMEDEC on 1st May at KLCC and drop by at Signature Kitchen booth. I also wear tshirt, jeans and slippers tongue.gif Was attended by a friendly malay lady salesperson. She explained about the promotion etc. I brought my floorplan and she draw the kitchen plan and ended up quote me RM26K for the KC including Ariston hood, hub, oven. Its kindda good deal tho.

But to get the price I need to put deposit by this Saturday. Still deciding whether to choose SK or keep on surveying as I think mostly the price almost the same. rclxub.gif

I guess that's very true..

bro, u r lucky to run away from this! no regret for you! below is my mightmare! what you said is very true. It is very scary, now i am not sure who to turn to and i am not sure i want to give them a lawyer letter as today is the 4th installation and again they realize there are mistakes where need to uninstall (important parts) the cabinets again. I am really tire after involving in this endless incidence for 6 months. My Friend who is a lawyer suggest me to issue them a legal letter.

I went to SK for my dry kitchen due to the “said” reputation. After I had done tones of research, and based on the professionalism (first image) of the friendly designer when we first met and the materials in the SK show room we decided to go for the SK. After I paid for my kitchen and sign the contract. My worse nightmare ever begin!

Everything is different the minute we paid. The sale person/designer starts to sound as if we were very annoying when we have enquiries. After the 1st installation, the whole cabinet slanted (SENGET) to left!! Moreover, the inner wall of the whole cabinet full with unnecessary holes here and there due to the drilling not to mention all those countless defects and scratches. So they come again and remove those ugly parts. After 2nd installation finished, only they realize the aluminum which is the main carcass is few cm shorter! OMG! They only realize this after installation??? They should check before they come or at least before install! So later, they uninstall all parts and plan to reinstall the whole thing again. 3rd installation, they install halfway and then suddenly realize that another part of the aluminium got problem and can only come and install next time. (by this time is already about 6 months since I sign contract with them and I have yet to move in to my new house because of this). So, I get angry very disappointed and tire after the 3rd installation n call to the customer service of SK, the operator pass me to more than 4 extensions but no one pick up the phone (at about 4 pm). So I ask for handphone numbers for managers or who ever I can talk to. I myself have call 5 handphone numbers, not even a single one pick up the phone. In total I have dial more than 10 numbers, both landline and handphones but not a single person pick up. The most ridiculous part is not in the picture yet. Until, finally the operator pass me to the customer care line and talk to this Anita who is loud, rude and sounds like an insane, she said: “ who who who ? Who you want to complaint? Tell me la tell me la! A, B, C, D or E? ” straight after I told her politely that my kitchen is not yet completed after 6 months . Anyway I answer : “xxx branch”. Then she increase her voice: “ Sales person sales person la!? You did not say who is the sales person who knows!!” so I increase my voice also as I am annoyed and said : “ why you talk like this how am I suppose to know u want the name of the sales person or the branch?” then she almost scream: “ since you talk like this, ok bye!!” then she hangs up the phone very hard! WTH!!! I really feel like crying. This is so ridiculous!! So, later operator manage to pass me to Ms Leow who is the head of customer service ( the head of Anita) who I thought finally I can reach someone who can assist me, mana tau she sounds as if I own her money. Anyway I told her my problem (as she is the only one I am able to reach), then I stop when I realize she was talking to someone else while I was talking to her, she just emit the sound: “ hm, hm uhuh..” pretending she is listening to me, I finish my complaint yet she did not know and still : “hm, hm, hm.” Until I told her loudly that I am finished, then she said : “O.. I need to investigate.” without even listening to what actually happened! Ms Leow did not apologize on behalf of SK. She said she will call me back but she did not.

I am feeling helpless as a customer and this is the first time FOMCA (Federation of Malaysia consumer Associations) comes into my mind. I cant believe this is SK, which is wrapped up by the advertisement so professionally and nicely! very organized, very quality, superb QC and customer service! U think so?! I strongly believe most of those good reviews that I have read in lowyat or other website about SK are made up by themselve. My friend have warn me once about their bad customer service after payment but I thought is just her bad luck to went to the wrong branch (c’mon who will believe this?!! Is SK! is realiable!!). But now I am totally, completely regret for not listening to her!! I had my other cabinets and wabrobes done by others but their workmanship and customer service is way much better than SK! SK is costing me too much not only money but hassles and time. This is so disappointing! I pay them and I have to do their job, I have to stay in the kitchen to keep an eye the whole day during their installation if not there sure be major reinstallation (eg the 1st installation) and imagine, they had come for at least 5-6 times for the installation and uninstallation excluding sending in materials for installation. Luckily I got help from my relatives to keep an eye on that, but who is going to be so free and taking day off each and everytime? In addition, I have to spend hour to take those pictures of defects every time after installation and send them and point out bit by bit, they are like babies. Everytime got problems they will push the problem to other parties. And yet until today the installation is not yet done after 6 months.

Well, I am happy with the showroom service and quotation is prompt at the Mid Valley branch. Have yet to confirm but so far so good. Finger cross hope that things will turn well. My neighbor did their kitchen and I am impressed with the design and built. Will update if there is any highlights. rolleyes.gif

I wear short and t-shirt walk into the fair, not even one person entertain me too, but that is okey, because whenever in the fair, I just want to see the quality of the works, and apparently only the outside is good quality but inside is really out of my expectation, would most likely not to use signature kitchen in that case.

Wow, this is a fair sharing. Hopes it will helps others forumers in selecting their KC supplier. IMHO, i think this is reasonable cause due to big company, in 10 cases. got 1-3 cases which lead to vain, its normal. But I still believe, there is a lot of successful cases. IF not, why Kixns Clas so much branches close down ?? Come back to reality , you think those exhibition rental cheap? those A&P no need money ?They not only need to cover their production cost, they also need to cover their operation cost , and those person who pick up your call and pass 1 by 1 to others. all this is cost.

Thanks for sharing your bad experiences here. So, in the end which KC company did you use (Q targeted at MyRants). I'm still looking for a supplier for my kitchen cabinets design and hopefully can find one with good service and reasonable price.

I agree that our service level in Malaysia is still lacking in many areas. They often judge people by their outlooks before wanting to serve them. Perhaps companies should really look into hiring better and more polite sales persons as they are representing the company. I personally won't consider getting service from a company that are having bad sales person as I would think their after sales service leave much to be desired.

It is true that salesperson play an important role in ensuring whether you'll have a pleasant experience or you don't. Due to a not so nice experience with a salesperson X, I've talked directly to one of the bosses of a kitchen cabinet company and was given a 2nd salesperson to take over.

So far things has been good. Yet to install anything as I am still waiting for my renovation to be done for the kitchen before actual measurement can be taken.

ps: This is not about SK, I'm just giving my general comment.

Signature Kitchen has been really pushing hard on marketing as usual. There's an ad that keeps running on Astro and I've seen them sponsor a kitchen on one of the Asian Food Channel cooking shows.

I engaged them before. The quality and workmanship is good thumbup.gif . The only concern is the time taken to fix the cabinet. It's a longggggggg process.

Day 1 - Deliver cabinets
Day 2 - Cabinet Installation
Day 3 - Table top measurement
Day 4 - Fix table top
Day 5 - Plumbing
Day 6 - Cleaning

I got no problems with SK but I did went to three branches before the last one were willing to quote me exactly what I wanted.

Everything done very professionally. My only complaint if any is that they dont have proper tools to drill the hole for the backboard so that they can pass the wires through. I wish they drilled the hole more nicely and put a grommet or something. Just a small cosmetic matter.
