QUOTE(counterp2 @ Dec 6 2013, 01:04 PM) i am considering of getting a serena due to the uncertainty of the next year tax excemption and the RM 8000 accessories offered. is it a good choice to buy now? i believe the newer facelifted serena will be here next year. http://paultan.org/2013/11/20/nissan-seren...led-tokyo-2013/(switching accord to serena because of the serena space and accord waiting period is too long) Considering Biante which is wider and having rear multilink suspension.waiting for test drive next week.

QUOTE(lunchtime @ Dec 8 2013, 10:55 AM) Me check and double check and triple check, no CKD plans in the near future. If no tax exemption, Serena price go up to estimated 180k. TCM not brainess, they aware that there wont be any potential buyer at 180k price and wont sell too. By the way biante at the similar price range in jap can be sold here at 149k, for no reason why TCM cant sell it at same price here.

No need tripple check or quadro check bro, paultan mentioned again the s hybrid ckd by 2014. Read this link to paultan post about the ckd plan and others paultan 2013/12/08Its the lastest facelift we will get for ckd, seems TC 6K year end cash rebate not so attractive now.. Should wait for new facelift next year, cheaper and newer version... This post has been edited by sianglee: Dec 9 2013, 08:02 AM

QUOTE(Yamy @ Dec 8 2013, 09:45 PM) Understand TCM quite well. For CKD, some specs will be downgraded...you may expect 4AT instead of CVT Somehow i would say it's not a bad thing getting CBU from JP. their QC and finishing will be more promising For that price range not such thing like 4AT speed gear to happen lah. Did you see any sylphy comes with 4AT? or TEANA getting 4AT ? Uanble to deny that some parts will be locally supplied such as seats, shock asorber and air cond compressor. But as core technology of S-Hybrid, engine and gearbox are not able/ready to manufacture locally yet. I own a grand livina, mostly locally manufacture , but i dont see much problem with the car except the low resale value. This post has been edited by sianglee: Dec 9 2013, 08:01 AM

But sorry its written in chinese. http://www.12365auto.com/dcbg/2013-11-27/2...7075927_3.shtmlThis post has been edited by sianglee: Dec 9 2013, 03:45 PM

The latest Jatco CVT 8 which so much optimised for high fuel efficiency does have plenty of premature failure in US for Altima end Pathfinder. The same technology was used in the SERENA too. Worried about the reliabilty. Check here and u will see both cars using the same CVT8 gb http://www.jatco.co.jp/ENGLISH/products/cvt/cvt8.htmlThe issue is now burning hot in US untill the Jatco vice President, Tomoyoshi Sato was removed from his post immediately... QUOTE(frank76 @ Dec 10 2013, 10:37 AM) When biante lunch at 1 Utama, I went and have a look there. I feel that Serena room leg are better than Biante. I feel serena are roomier than Biante (maybe because of the high roof). I am 5'9" tall. I try seat at the 2nd roll and driver seat. I feel its smaller compare with serena. For Serena I seat at the last roll still very comfortable. Its my personal view only. Well Biante is shorter by about 60mm but its also wider by 60mm too. It's pretty subjective either u prefer a wider or longer MPV loh. But i do agree that SERENA have much better seats design compare to Biante's weird seats configuration. Anyway both car still having the wheelbase of more than 2850mm which is very much more than those medium size sedan like Accord or Teana already. QUOTE(tehqy @ Dec 23 2013, 11:50 PM) last minute research... I am glad I found this site... anyway, I've placed a RM1k booking (refundable, according to TC salesman)... test drive the car and I like the driving experience... but now I am just having second thoughts.... 1. next year we will be at 2014, and I've read in the previous post that the facelift model is coming with better technology? but then will the price be the same?... 2. The special interest rate of 2.41 (5 years) and 2.48 (7 years), is this the lowest in the market now? The rate is from CIMB and recommended by the Salesman...anyone has information on other banks? I don't know guys... maybe I just need somemore information to make a decision that I don't regret later... it's just something about wanting to make sure $$$ is well spent. Btw, I saw the Almera with nismo package in the showroom, quite a nice looking car (after modified). and p/s merry christmas and happy new year to all... Its high possibilty CKD version would be the lastest facelift with better FC. However i choose to take the current CBU version as this could be the last chance to have fully import SERENA. The CKD one may looks better but very sure TC may slash/ rip off plenty of features to offer with lower price. Anyway you get what you paid for. QUOTE(tehqy @ Dec 24 2013, 10:11 AM) Thank yo Siang Lee, and Jack for the feedback, I guess I can't just compare the current one with the facelift model if I want the current price that they offer. Well, it's good to talk to people sometimes to make a better informed decision. I'll just go with the current model. I've been holding on this big purchase for 3 years now, and don't think my old faithful (Iswara 1.3) can tahan anymore. Checked with my mechanic, the next service is going to cost around RM3000 due to overhaul and driveshaft change (making noise), so took the opportunity to upgrade to a family car, now can drive 3 kids and grandparents without cramping the tradin cost is RM2000 for the old car (1998)...I think a new iPad is more expensive then my old faithful now... oh, and to Pg84, I did check out Estima 2008 model, superb looking car and driving experience is also good, was quoted RM140k++ but after considering with the same amount I can get a new car and lower roadtax, so in the end, I choose "value for money" over a 6 year old MPV + the class and style of it... (I really like the spaceship design...hahaha)... btw, anyone can comment on the bank interest? is 2.41 and 2.48 lowest in the market? I got Public bank 9 yrs loan at 2.41%

QUOTE(frank76 @ Dec 25 2013, 08:17 PM) lucky u . We the first batch buyers miss this great full spec offer. How can TCM do this to us anyway welcome to the club Its really unfair to those early birds who book much earlier but I believe TC never mean to slash the price last minute within such short period. It could be their misleading marketing strategy causing this to happened. First they putting pretty much profit margin during the first launch, but cant blame them cos they need to play safe for such limited market product during initial launch. Maybe the high demand or booking making them feel confident to bring in a lot more unit which is going to make them rich. However TC forgot that this segment of mpv are pretty limited potential buyer and the worse thing is their sa really squeezing customers who trade in nissan cars. Finally too much leftover units need to be clear off by year end or TC really need to fork out plenty of money to buy all of them in order to enjoy the hybrid car free duty. QUOTE(jackbanner @ Dec 27 2013, 05:44 PM) So you get rm8,000 discount plus free mm navigation and lcd. It pays to be patient. Congratulation! Just got the car yesterday evening. So far quite satisfied with the performance, just feeling the noise level abit higher than grand livina. I choose the 6k cash rebate instead of the accessaries offer. Just wonder how much more offer would be given by TCM for 2014 serena. This post has been edited by sianglee: Dec 29 2013, 09:28 AM

QUOTE(jackbanner @ Jan 2 2014, 07:24 PM) So how is your experience with the mpv? Any regret? Value for money? How is the mpg as compared to livina? "Satisfied with the performance"; is it better than livina 1.8 in terms of performance? If you dont mind about the fc, the mr20dd engine really rev as you wish. In eco mode the engine power is very much suppress but give nice fc about 12.5km/liter as shown in average fuel. Anyway my g.livina 1.6 is slightly more fuel saving compare to tis serena. But the level of finish , space and comfort is not wat g.livina can give.
