TCM sure profit a lot from tis model. checked the japan nissan site u will get these info.
Cheapest Serena S-Hybrid¥ 2,598,750 =rm 82,461.31 Highest Spec Serena S-Hybrid (Rider Black Line)¥ 2,924,250 = rm92,789 So where is the Green Tax rebate on this , or rebated into TCM's own pocket lah...
From TCM web site preview, its coming with the most basic spec, no on wheel media/radio control and without panaromic sun roof.

As commented by most forumers in Hong Kong who receive this new c26 earlier this year, the fc is around 10km/l to 12km/l only. Not as efficient as quoted by nissan japan official statement of 15.2km/l. This is mostly due to hotter climate in HK which reduce the iddle start stop efficiency I.e. engine would always on to drive the air cond. Can't imagine how much left the shybrid saving when its in Malaysia.... take my word, dont expect the 15.2km/l to be achieved anywhere in Malaysia

At 150k there are plenty of choices of good quality cars though it may not an MPV. The truth why poeple choose recond mpv like alphard or estima may not 100% becos of the need of space but becos of good features offered within. With such strip off and that price range, TCM may not attract much potential buyers...

QUOTE(winkiedilwy @ Jul 11 2013, 09:41 PM) 150k, and this price is only valid till year end. next year dunno what price ad. Believe very soon TCM will introduce CKD ver. with more ripping off at lower price.. Cos gov policy will end the hybrid duty exemption by introducing more tax relief for local assembled hybrid car. Not worried too much about price hike for tis SERENA S-Hybrid, gov now is under pressure to reduce car price . Eventually we may get other car/ MPV with less price or better spec (if car dealers not willing to reduce price). The choice is ours as consumer. We reserves the right to refuse the products thats having to many levels of exploitation.

With the exemption of 75% excise duty, the remaining tax items left only the 30% import duty +10% sales tax. Says if TCM get the basic ver priced RM 82,461 +30% import duty RM 24,738 = 107,199 +10% sales tax RM 10,719 = 117,918 RM149,500-RM117,918=RM 31,582 - TCM tax/duty?

QUOTE(MGM @ Jul 15 2013, 05:19 PM) Read from PaulTan that this is only a simple-Hybrid. May be that's why the price diff in Japan btw S-Hybrid and non-Hybrid is only about 10% becos not much of advancement in tech. If non-Hybrid is selling in Langkawi at rm88k, then s-hybrid should be about rm97k. So hopefully(my dream will be realised, hahaha) S-hybrid would be priced around rm100k. At this price point all other MPV sales would halt immediately. Bro MGM please wake up from your dream, the S-Hybrid is set with the price of RM 149K oledi..... Simple, to know the price, bring any check book to TCM showroom, showing you are very confirm to get one. Then the SA will tell lots of their info.

QUOTE(MGM @ Jul 16 2013, 12:37 PM) So you have given them your check and that's why you know the price has been set at rm149k? I am not an expert but from what I read, technolgy and cost wise PRIUS > JazzHybrid > Serena S-Hybrid and if price diff btw JazzHybrid and JazzPetrol is less than 10%, Serena S-Hybrid which uses a simple additional battery would be priced at RM149K compare to Serena @RM97K(diff of 53%), both prices after tax exemption. why u need to compare with other brand hybrid price over petrol ver.? As simple as it is, get the price from nissan japan website, all actual prices are there. About the check? Make a guess. HAHA

QUOTE(MGM @ Jul 17 2013, 12:46 PM) It's tiring talking to a person not on the same wavelength. By comparing only then we know @rm149k the S-Hybrid is overpriced. Moreover we are comparingwith cars of better hybrid/battery technology. The 10% diff of Serena and S-Hybrid are based on the lowest prices of the respective models taken from Nissan Japan website(~rm69k vs rm76k). Knowing these prices and Serena Price in langkawi we can roughly estimate the price of S-hybrid. Assuming no other cost, S-Hybrid(highway star) should be rm97000.*76/69=rm107k Bro MGM where u get the S-Hybrid price in Langkawi?? The Nissan website price for the current SERENA is very different ( very outdated ) C24 model. S-Hybrid model is C26.... By the way , just got SA informed that the car is launching on 23 July at TCM showroom Melati. This post has been edited by sianglee: Jul 17 2013, 01:46 PM

Seems abit over price for this level of mpv. RM 150k can get a lot of better car. Serena chasis is more or less like nissan B segment such as latio, syphy, nv 200 and livina. They only modified it with longer wheel base and add. height.
Its well accepted in japan and hk as they mostly use more city drive and limited space. In contrary we got more highway and more comfortable parking space here, RM 150k is more justified to get those D segment cars ,instead.
Considering Mazda 5 or Pug 5008 ....

QUOTE(terabite @ Jul 26 2013, 12:34 PM) Anyone received any additional discount for this Serena other than those advertised officially (2.38% loan, navigation/reverse camera unit, free service 3 times, free PA)? 2.38% loan for less than five year loan maybe, SA told that Tan Chong not even interested to consider any 9 years loan.

QUOTE(frank76 @ Jul 27 2013, 09:16 AM) did anyone notice new serena have no spare tyre?!? it only have what they call a tyre repair kit! Aware of that already. checked crv and cx5, the 17 in spare wheel taken almost 1/3 of the rear space. Something to give and take, want more space u lose the spare wheel. Want spare wheel , have to sacrifice your space..... This post has been edited by sianglee: Jul 27 2013, 09:17 PM
