go for the neo bro .. as you said you will have extra 400 cash in your hand.that can go into your saving.or do up your car.or you can always afford for a nice wine and dine in a while
with the chicks thumbup.gif .and may b after 5-6 years you will sure earn more . than str8 upgrade to evo.. no need lancer .. haha

Lol, this made me laugh. Yeah i mean, it seems more reasonable to wait till I have more cash to spare to get a higher priced car. Neo R3 would definitely be a damn good plus point for the chicks tongue.gif

Opting for R3 performance parts would be great, but I don't know how would the power gain against fuel consumption be. Anyone got experience in this?
Was driving behing a CPS R3 earlier, looks damn chun. But kinda wished the spoiler looked like the CPS one.

Short term = Neo CPS R3
Long term = Lancer GT

You don't want your future wife or mother in law to sit in the cramped back seat of Neo.
Even kids know how to appreciate the spacious rear seat tongue.gif

Proton car buying new or used almost same. Just a matter of how the previous owner take care of it rclxub.gif

i have modded my cps and it improves fuel economy. not by much though but still there is improvement in both performance and fuel consumption - did not change my driving style to achieve better consumption. my parts are all r3. except for air filter and plugs which they don't have.

Bigger car means the in-laws keep asking you to carry them or some big hardware (like ladder or TV or Ikea). Get a smaller car and destroy their hope of asking you to carry random stuff.

Plus you never know the CVT gearbox condition in the 2nd hand Lancer GT until you own it and cry.

A Neo CPS R3 manual sounds safer than 2nd hand CVT.

Lots of negative feedbacks for the Lancer GT. Thanks for the feedbacks guys, saved me from making a potentially bad choice and wasting a lot of money.

"Destroy their hope", lol. In-laws and kids are the least of my concerns because I still have a couple more years until I can even think of getting married. And i'm pretty sure i'd be able to afford a better car at that time. For now, looking at the responses, the Neo is definitely the best choice in terms of affordability and reliability. If everything goes smooth, i'll be posting a picture of it soon smile.gif

Checked out the R3 Performance Package online from Proton, RM10,499. Freakin expensive! I don't think i'd be able to afford the entire package.

i knew that 10k for the package is not worth at all plus expensive (with some amount budget u can get much2 better hp n torque gain) whistling.gif ...

You obviously did not read this entire thread well. The reason why I posted this thread was because I wanted to get some feedback if the Lancer GT is affordable for me or just settle down for something slightly cheaper.

Keep aside adding the perforrmance package into my loan, you're trying to differentiate monthly repayment and a onetime purchase of RM10k? Seriously?

With that price, I think you can get an used 308T also. It has the look as well as performance. It is just that the brand is not really associated with reliability.

really ah...what is so difference? u pay 10k with neo also almost same as u buy USED lancer gt ..bcoz r sure that lancer gt wont bring u prob?...used car..please..

n i bet the cheapest u can get lancer gt is around 70k...10k differ than new neo...

forgive me if my thinking is incorrect...

still...if u think u can afford..juz buy it..u r the one who drive it...i'm not side of lancer gt nor neo...both car for me are great..choose wisely bro...

Trust me, driving a satria and a lancer/inspira is two different experience altogether.

Both cars are fast, despite the CVT.

Those who say lancer gt/inspira is slow because of the CVT obviously do not have the cars.

Source - I've got a satria, and an inspira.
