Root AND Deodexed. Odex is a type of file in the ROM. Most custom roms remove the odex file so it's "de-" odexed. This allows theming IINM.

Yes, you are on an "odexed" rom ie usually stock. You can also flash stock, rooted, deodexed like mine. Go xda N2 forums and find the thread from user i9000.

Don't think you need root for that. However most of us here who want to use Chinese input are on rooted roms, so don't know who can help.
