You will never know what my best friend told me today. There was one day she went out with a friend yamcha and started talking about mobile phones to my friend.
He is a silent reader on LYN and told my friend, "There is this forummer on LYN is a very knowledgeable person. "He" knows a lot of things and is active on forum. "His" ID is fruitie."
My best friend laughed and told him that she is my best friend, also corrected him that I'm a female.
He said, "Really ah? Cannot believe leh, fruitie is a female and so knowledgeable." My friend asked him back, "Female cannot be knowledgeable one ah?"
I don't know to laugh or cry now. Who is this silent reader, you better reveal yourself. Are you in this thread?

Hmmm....so I haven't been hanging out at other threads, but since I'm just taking the biased view of being in the Android forums, particularly this one, the general stereotyping is still that flashing (the rom kind

) and hacking and tweaking are male activities by far. So for females to get into that domain at the same level of knowledge goes against the pre-conceived stereotype.
So your best friend's friend is bigoted? Well, we all are bigoted at some level.
FWIW, couple of years back there was some shots of the world's best female Doom player...man is she hot. So she didn't fit into the stereotype of horse faced, flat bosomed, bun-haired, horn-rimmed glasses techie female.
hahaha.
