At first, I thought portico update comes to msia then I just realized you are not in Malaysia now. Haha

hahahahahah. Sorry guys. I'm in the middle east and usually we get our items similar to the European countries.

Noticed that my auto-brightness is acting up (just like some people have reported after updating to Portico), the screen brightens up, then down then up .... decided to switch off the Auto feature and set the brightness to medium.

Finally managed to het H+ speed but damn the phone started to heat up really fast. It has been a while since the phone heats up like that. Had to put it on Airplane mode to cool it down.

The phone is good, zippy, no random reboots yet but let's wait for another couple of weeks and we'll see on the random reboot front.

someone mention the price.... charging plate RM319 and charging pillow RM309...
*
That is insanely expensive. The wirless charge is supposed to go for 79.99 I think in the US and over here in Middle East, it's SAR245 or around RM190.

Portico update - had my first random reboot AFTER Portico. I suspect it was due to the CPU overheating. I mean I haven't had this CPU overheating for a while and now after Portico, the CPU is really hot especially if I use cellular data. Using Wifi not so much.

If the Wireless Stand (DT-910) is RM310, then it makes sense because it's going for USD99 in Amazon and SAR345 (RM270) in Middle East. Wireless Plate at RM200 is reasonable.

The JBL is going for SAR1200 here so that would be about RM960 so around the a thousand mentioned.

One thing that I notice after the Portico update is that the moment you pull the headphones out of the phone while listening to a song, there is no more of that one millisecond where sounds comes out from the phone. They must have fixed that.

My Lumia is still experiencing random reboots. It rebooted once yesterday and I had to soft reset because it was still at the Nokia screen after 2 minutes. After the soft reset, the store says I have 15 new updates ... downloaded all of the updates and very happy that my Money Management software has been updated and all the feature requests that I requested was implemented.

So giving a shout out to Bank Account Manager (BAM) version 8.20, the developer rocks!

bro, camera picture quality better or not? last time asked you still no answer.  yawn.gif
i have a hunch that the random reboots have something to do with memory management; whenever there is a read/write, the communication clashes with the kernel or something. hmm.gif

anyway, there was a leak that microsoft is building something big for W8 RT, W8 and WP8. hopefully things get better with that.

Aiseh, ainuddin, tak sempat lah nak ambik gambar. A bit busy preparing some slides for my models .... one slides takes 10-15 minutes so a bit swamped. Nanti I will take photo during daylight and post it in the forum.

I was told that restart is required after soft reset, otherwise live tile might not update properly
*
Hmmm that could be why some of my live tiles are not updating properly (Battery Status, Weather Flow). Will do a restart then. Thanks!

Battery drains to 50% after browsing for 4 hours straight from 8am to 12. Not bad.

After uninstalling all the WP7 legacy apps it seems that I haven't been getting any random reboots for a day now. Will see if this continues for another day or so.

How do we know which app is a legacy Windows 7 apps?

Does anyone have the problem of dust trapped in the front facing camera? Under sunlight, the camera is seen with a lot of dusts inside. How can I get them out?
*
I have them too .... pissed me off as well. If you search the web, some suggested using a compressed air blower to try and get the dust out..... this always happens with Nokia

So when I flash it. The phone will be like new I guess? Just wondering if I could do a whole backup to update to Portico.
*
That's the thing. WP8 backup system SUCKS!!!, sevennet has done a field test and review of the backup and it's not pretty. MS needs to really implement a full backup system like the iPhone (where you can do a full backup -- game saves, app data etc etc) to the computer. Skydrive only backs up certain things.

so did you ever get the compressed air? And where to get them? It's kinda a hassle to bring it to Nokia centre just to clean the dust up..
*
I had those compressed air for my DSLR but that didin't really work. I think you need to get those compressed air from the can type (aerosol type) for this to work. At the moment, I am just living with it ...

ok great. from your eyes, do you see any improvement on the pictures?
*
You cannot really see a difference using the phone screen. I mean the zoom level in 920 is not like the full rezz zooming on the PC so you basically have to transfer it to the PC first to tell the difference.
