QUOTE(Wogarious @ Feb 16 2013, 08:02 PM) ZZZ, my phone just shut itself up and now i cant switch it back on. Holding on the power button doesnt help at all. Haihz.. You need to soft reset the phone. Hold power button + the volume down button for 10-15 seconds and the phone will vibrate and restart. It's like taking out the battery trick in old nokias.

QUOTE(Wogarious @ Feb 16 2013, 08:57 PM) will it wipe out any of my phone information if i do soft reset? for example pictures No. You probably just need to set the time and date again. All data will not be wiped.

Looks like Rei7 found the winner in terms of random reboots issue. Now need to start uninstalling legacy apps as well. December cutoff date for apps sounds like a good idea.

I had 2 battery status apps installed. One was from Tomas which worked nicely before the latest updates. After the latest updates, the battery drain is significant and I have identified it as coming from Battery Status and the option to collect data for the statistics. Once I disabled that function, the battery drain is back to normal. But obviously this basically made the graphing capability useless because the app is not collecting any data. As the adage goes, don't fix something that is not broken.
Due to this problem, I installed Battery (another app) but I believe it was polling the battery status every minutes (as I enabled it to run in the background). Last nigh I fully charge the phone by 10:30PM and disconnected it from the charger. At 6AM this morning, I had 18% left. This has never happened before so off to the bin with the Battery app.
I wish Microsoft can just do the battery percentage thing like iOS ... is that so hard to do? I know you want to be different, but trying to be different for different sake is plain stupid.

QUOTE(EXkurogane @ Feb 19 2013, 08:09 AM) That's new to me. Im using something called Battery Status, it updates every 30 minutes ( i think...) or everytime your open the app, instead of live monitoring every minute. Some may not like it but i believe it will not drain much energy. My phone battery life under moderate usage has been stellar. yeah I have Battery Status as well from Tomas. It was working fine before but I have just noticed that after the new update for the app, my drain is much faster. Once I disabled collecting the data, the drain is back to normal. The app that seems to poll the battery in the background continously was called Battery (just battery, not battery status). I read in WMPowerUser that it was free so I downloaded it and it looks okay at first, but last night ... man 82% drain in 8 hours when I was sleeping is nonsense.

QUOTE(solution2u @ Feb 19 2013, 08:30 AM) I am also using Battery by Enless where it contains 2 unique features:- 1. Alert when the battery is draining quickly 2. Show phone connectivity / shortcut Are you using the same app ? It happen only once where it drain 40% at night when I using the other battery app with chart. Forgot the name already, but I am not sure if the old battery app cause this. I think so, I have uninstalled it so can't really remember ... lemme check WMPowerUser Just read this in Gizmodo as well http://gizmodo.com/5982478/the-best-smartphone-camera

Someone needs to start v3. MS really needs to get their House in order. It seems like they work in silos. Skype is doing one thing and completely ignoring WP8, when they in fact are owned by MS. In corporate dabbledegook, MS should try to harness their competitive advantage but instead they enrich their competitors ecosystem. Video messaging went with Apple ecosystem first. How the fu*k did Balmer let that happened? This empire building by each business units is really killing MS especially WP8 and Balmer should be accountable for all of the fiascos.

You need to go into the router settings and change the wifi channel from Auto to a specific channle like 2, 6 or 11

A lot fo the times when Wifi signals from neighbouring houses are also on the same signal (since everyone uses Auto), it could create some frequency conflicts. I have mine on a specific channel as well.
