what do u guys think of fw 6.1.E.3.7?.. should i update or not?.. now my status bar got this persistent fw update notification.
i'm happy with my current fw (6.1.E.2.68) & not planning to update untill JB. but i hate that icon on my status bar. |

Confused between SL, ION, Acro S, and S. Anyway, why is Xperia S priced much higher than its cousins in the official SONY website, like 1799 S vs 1599 ION, when ION is upgraded S..?
I am thinking of getting this phone anyway, or if you have better recommendations for 1.1-1.2k budget, let me know |

One of the reason we (ion owner) bought it its becuz it was larger screen than the S. and comes with memory card expansion. I personally bought it its becuz it comes with so sexy RED which I dnt think theres any devices out there can beat the design and quality of Sony's ion.
Ion is alot more worth getting now, seeing TX and V and the just announced Z/ZL, price definitely affect on ion's and best thing as well is that, dealers usually pack lots freebies with it now compared to what we got it when it first release in msia back in Aug 2012. ROM and tweaks for ion might be Less compared to other Xperia (S especially) cuz ion did not have any chance to gain attraction eversince S released, thts one thing im pretty annoyed back then when Sony released NXT series and kept ION aside for 6 months after S released. Im still very proud using my ion even till today though. Ppl and friends around me always amazed by the screen itself and ask me what phone.  To me, iPhone is overpriced and Samsung is overrated as in too many features and I seriously doubt, how many of them who bought it will fully utilized it besides the camera and social media? Correct me if im wrong. Just my personal thought on using the xperia ion after 6 months purchased. Sorry if i mentioned too long. |

Ion battery is actually pretty sufficient for average daily usage. Sms, calls, social media, camera. It actually can last for 10-12 hours depends on usage.
I updated my ion to the latest on 3.7 2 weeks back and i was impressed by the improved performance but not with the battery life compared to the 2.8 So i flash back to 2.8 and flash the Cyber shot mod in my ion and my battery still maintain longer than the 3.7 currently. Im still waiting Sony to come up with battery fix and even better performances like faster loading, louder volume if possible, more responsive touch button, perhaps more or better features on the Walkman or Camera at least? |

The moment you update to latest firmware 3.7When loading album photos u will find improvement on loading the photos and responsiveness. Then when you start browsing around your ion say, just update apps or twitter or facebook, you will lose 2% in a minute without realizing. Neverless i had tried to sw On wifi from morning 9.00am till 5.30pm then reach home to sw back On wifi again approx 8.00pm and battery still last untill midnite(battery flat).Personally these Xperia Ion impress me on bigger screen.I was actually targeted Xperia S(white) but end up it's own by my home minister  Didn't update new version software , remain use stock software....... |

Update to jelly bean is in mid Q1.
After the JB updates on Xperia TX,V only comes to ION and S. Reason why i root it as well cuz i found out i can actually delete/disable app tht comes frm Sony and with this, it helps save more RAM. |

Can we use Ion's dock (if we can find one..) without opening the flap? like acro S? It's really annoying having to open and close the flap every time i want to charge my phone.

Morning to all, I'm a proud owner of Xperia ION (RED). Just to check did anyone have the same problem as me. Whenever I played game the sound of the game is inconsistent. Sometime getting louder and sometime getting softer. Example of the game such as Subway Surf, Fieldrunners and etc. Is there anyway to fix this? I'm under Build Number 6.1.E.3.7.

Really dilemma i would suggest ion because larger screen, getting JB soon, got microsd card, and better battery.SL has faster speed, larger internal storage but no microsd that mean cannot expand memory, bluetooth 3.0. go play with SL and ion in sony centre n choose what you like most. basicly both are good phone for your budjet. |

G morning, black ion owner here,jes wonder bout the battery comsuming of this phone. If put the phone there to stand by,the battery wont drop much, but once i surf net or play around with the phone, man,the battery jes drop too fast. I monitor the usage n find out that each percent drop within a minute if u let the screen active. For normal usage (pick up some calls, check for fb updates, minor surfing), my phone can barely stay up until bed time,n a full charge is required each day. I ve check the phone's background running apps n ensure the memory is cleared all the time + pull the screen brightness almost 0 but all those tricks didnt help any. So, dear fellow ioner, does this situation happen on ur device? Do u feel like ion's battery is jes too weak to sustain for a full day use? Even my wife's iphone 5 has better battery consumption than mine although a lot hav comments that iphone has bad battery consumption. Other than that, the device is good, jes hope that sony will solve the battery issue for the coming update release...

Got latest update? I checked from software update section but its oredi up to date...i know bigger screen,faster speed will increase the battery usage,but cant just sony engineers realize tat issue n add bigger capacity of battery?lol....short battery reli make the phone feel so inconvenient, say, charge the phone anytime when needed whenever u r charging it in ur car or using a power bank, but doing so wont make the battery life span become shorter? Since full cycle charging is not applied.

Hi! I just installed XTXperience on my Xperia Ion LT28h. After installation, everything works fine except that my phone won't detect my external sd card. I opened astro and can find the ext card with all my media files but when I go into settings>storage i cant see or mound the ext card
Can any please help? Thanks!! |

I tried to take out the sd card and insert it back in. Still doesn't work.Btw I restored my phone with cwm. Then i tried to install cybershot with cwm. I wiped cache partition and dalvik cache before installing. But when i reboot I could not find cybershot in settings>apps>all. please please help  |

After your phone vibrate 3 times, release both keys. Make sure you wait until the phone vibrate 3 times and not one time. if this doesn't solve your problem than step 2 2. hard reset your phone. this will restore factory default settings. you will loose your data ---- to do this press and hold down both power key and volume up key until phone vibrate 1 time than release the power key while still pressing the volume up keys. follow the instruction on the screen. don't release the volume up keys unless the instruction on the screen ask ou to do so. if this still doesn't solve your problem you need to decide weather you want the warranty or not. If you want warranty than send the phone to SONY MALAYSIA. If you don't want the warranty than unlock boot loader, root the device and use custom rom!!  |

and one more thing.
you can also repair your phone using PC companion. just connect your phone and once windows finish detecting your phone press update firmware. than click repair and its done. remember this always SONY XPERIA PHONE CANNOT get unrepairable unless the hardware fried! |

i am trying to unlock boot loader now.. but am stuck at the drivers part, as the Win7 autodetect and installed a driver for xperia and it won't let me update to the android AOD driver which i need for unlock later.. still trying.. wish me luck

Aku ada try cyber-shot mod ver. 5.1.1 tu.. Lag lah.. Pastu try downgrade ver 4.7.2 aku rasa mcm ok sket... Pasni nak try yg xv camera yg niaboc port plak.. Nak tgk jadi mcm mana... Ahehehe kesudahannya app camera zoom fx gak yg aku selalu pakai... Cyber-shot 5.1.1 mod tu lambat benor nak focus..

I just got x.ion,this is very good quality phone no plastic feel like Samsung,,4.0.4 running smooth,picture quality tip top,battery life normal as every PDA.I like it.
Only it feel hot quite fast.I hav two Q, 1.after insert micro USB to the phone(top left),I can feel it is a bit loose mean it can fluctuate a bit left n right,is it normal? 2.my headphone attach show not support after insert? Tq |

i stated my problems before and now few more doubts to clear bought new Xepria Ion with this firmware ICS 6.1.E.1.20 Update to this firmware (because it prompt me to) ICS 6.1.E.3.7 phone doesn't work with UK simcard, when insert UK sim it keeps restarting... after googling and came here for some suggestion.. flash it back to this firmware ICS 6.1.E.1.20 > and it works now it is working on my UK simcard... but it keeps popping up the update means I should NOT update it to avoid the same problem...? could it be because this model Ion is not available in UK market that's why the latest firmware reject the Sim Card (all UK sim, O2, T-mobile, 3mobile etc that i tried on) |

I would say the camera pic quality on the average side. It has very good sensor just that Sony need to put better camera software to take advantage of it (faster focus, better filter etc). |

lol~now im back with ion again.suprisingly the latest firmware bring huge improvement to the camera..the noise reduced tremendously..still have the focus issue but using the physical shutter button tackled that issue..

Thanks waja for ur respond. Currently trying Paranoid ROm and so far very good. Very smooth on every aspect. I liked MIUI (used on my previous N1,NS and Desire HD) but the current MIUI for ION is not stable and not fully working. I got many error msgs here and there (I flashed twice).
Any good thing about Xperia NExus ? still ICS rite ? |

i didnt do any editing on the script. just normal flash and make sure u clear cache on /data filesytem (beside the dalvik,cache etc)

maybe they are rolling out start from 1st batch to 2nd batch? I bought mine Jul/Aug 2012 if not wrong. |

so far very (.211).. very smooth but occasionally keyboard lag... I downgrade the cpu to 512.. batt can tahan 2 days.. but still very smooth..but then I just use a phone/youtube/browsing..... no gaming..

Dont know why, bila lock screen guna apps lock screen tu, dia menyala sendiri lepas lock. Then, bila guna unlock key, tekan sekali hanya lampu button yg bawah tu je menyala, kene tekan sekali lagi barulah boleh nak unlock screen.

i'm still on ICS. Recently my phone gps got problem. When i try to search some location using google navi, waze, even turn on FB, speedtest, the phone will auto turn off and restart. No problem from 1st day( almost 10 months ) only this month got problem. It only happen some times when gps not able to search.

for me JB ni not the best la..
1. incoming call voice always slow and i'll have to push volume + to increase it. 2. app screen off and lock not responsive very well with JB. lastly i'm reverted back to GB rom..smooth and steady even it now outdated.. |

The only complaint I got with the official JB for ION is that..
video recording for 1080p LAGS mad =.= battery were better than ICS, to my personal opinion after using for about 3-4 weeks now. |

reverted to ICS after few days with JB... really like the new features, interface etc but the performace sucks, sluggish when scrolling, bad camera and so on... hopefully sony will rectify this prob a.s.a.p

so far on .211, my phone no problem on volumn button bug. Even the GPS problem also solved. No more auto restart after failed to search GPS some time while using maps, waze

I've new problem with my own ion, after full charging, battery maintain 100% for around 3 hours, then when reached at 30%, it will automatically turn to 1%, in 5s it already power off.....anybody got this problem?what should i do?

Just swap my ZL with my wife ION. I'm using her ION because she always nag about slow performance through out her whole experience with ION.
Sigh, I thought Qualcomm cpu with 1gb of ram going to do just fine. Turn out my sister ninetology with Mediatek cpu and 512mb ram perform better on 4.1 than ION. Come with pre-applied Screen Protector?
Well actually that is not a screen protector, it is shatter proof layer. If you want to keep the shatter proof layer and avoid it to be scratched, just apply a screen protector on top of it. But it might reduce the touch responsiveness. has anyone remove the shatter proof layer? is it ok to remove it and replace with screen protector instead? |
