Hi Guyz,

Just a few question:

if want to get second decoder, they will change existing decoder to multiroom decoder? Cant use existing decoder?
So primary dish would be multiroom while secondary would be normal PVR unit where it can be used anywhere?
Then Why must we change to multiroom decoder?

I just got my 2nd decoder from kampong, now bring it to apartment. Tried the quad LNB on my neighbor's dish (black one coz my decoder is hd) but it is not working sad.gif when i go to setting it says the signal is 0...no signal. But my neighbor's is ok. Don't know what's wrong. Thanks to reply.

i added 2nd decoder to my house account. and brought it over to work place, paired with a 4 y/o dish. it worked well. only problem is HD channel doesn't auto adjust screen ratio according to tv screen size.

lookin to get a 3rd decoder. where can i get a used dish for cheap price or free?

PVR needs two cables due so that it can record in the background while you watch another channel. You can technically use only one cable, but if you want to record anything you need to be watching that channel

Press "home" button on your Astro remote control, Settings>Your Settings>Display>TV Settings
Make sure the option for "Conversion for 4:3 video" OR "Conversion for 16:9 video" is setted to "Fit to screen" as shown in the picture.
HD channels will appear fit entirely to your TV screen without black bars at top and bottom (known as letterbox).

Hope it helps.

Need some opinion here

i have a current iptv setup on maxis - if i apply for this multi room, what will the second decoder run on? wifi or dish? can i opt for the dish? i still have a dish here, the black one

so the plan is, i would like to move this current iptv setup to my new home, then get them to come over and setup a second multi room decoder, and was wondering if this needs to run on the wifi or can use the centralized satelite connection as i would then move this back to my old house for my mom to use

anyone think this is possible?

Wow, this would be challenging to do so. I'm not sure whether it is possible to do so.
Since now you are using Astro IPTV, and you want to add multiroom subscription, definitely they will connect to your modem, not the dish. Unless if you add the 3rd decoder, then only it will use the satellite dish instead of connecting to the modem. For Astro IPTV, it only support max 2 decoders (1 primary decoder, 1 multiroom decoder) in one home.

If you want to relocate house permanently, you shall inform Astro about this, especially for Astro IPTV.

When you install multiroom, Astro installer will use back the same existing satellite dish as what you have right now at your house. Yes, thwy will provide second decoder and remote control.

If you thinking of taking the second decoder into another house, make sure the second house has satellite dish installed. Otherwise, you can purchase Astro satellite dish.
