so i tried this method, all very gung ho

i install multiroom in my kampung, they come and change my existing one with pvr and install another in my room. i wasnt there when they install. they also change the dish.

the 2nd set they install in my room, connect to another dish, which belongs to my sister, unused, and thus it is old byond set not pvr.

i changed the pvr to my room to test it with byond dish and it works perfectly so i say hey lets take this back to my apartment in another state

i have a beyond set in my apartment, what im gonna do is plug in this pvr set to my dish and if it works im gonna terminate my astro in my apartment and use the one with multiroom i registered in kampung, but sadly it is not working

there are two port for cables, in my room at kampung i plug in the cable at the top port and it works perfectly, but here in my apartment, this happen. i can't turn it on anybody got a way to solve this?

You just swap the cable. Try and error. I've tried this before. Need to swap the coxial cable top with bottom vice versa. If you just use single cable then you'll not be able to record any channel.

For my case
a) Second decoder worked in another state
b) My decoder is using lan cable (subscribed under IPTV/Time), so I need to change the setting so that it will get signal from coaxial cable. The steps are something like, turn off the power, turn it own while holding on power button or volume up or down button, then u will see a page asking you to get signal from LAN cable or disc (please verify with your astro installer)
c) just buy a coaxial cable splitter so that you will have two cables for your decoder. Or you can modify the cable yourself. However, you might not able to record one HD channel and tune to another channel.

So I'm planning to do this multiroom as well

House A in Penang has pvr. Planning to multiroom to this account but questions
1- so they will change the dish in house A?
2- assuming I have the black dish in kl house can I just plug and play the decoder after they install? What's the deal with the dual lnb?

Anyone has any points to this?

They will change to 4 LNB.. since u are using PVR, I assume now u r using 2 LNB. Once they install at House A, u can just bring it to KL plug and play. I did mine.. main account in KL, bring back two decoder to penang.. working fine

my gf's parents has astro subscription.

i plan to terminate her subscription and apply 2nd decoder because my subscription is full package(more channels).

my question is when i get the 2nd decoder, can i just goto her house and plug and play the decoder since we already have the dish and cable installed?

Hi sifus, anybody successfully setup 2 PVR using the multiroom? Do they allow? Plan to get the first PVR by upgrading to multiroom (topup RM100). Then upgrade package to super pack plus and get the second PVR free.

Once everything install. Planning to get the outdoor unit with 2LNB myself and transfer the 2nd PVR unit to another location.

dear all,

since astro is hvg a promo for 2nd decoder, was wondering, is it possible for subscibers to subscribe for 2nd decoder at RM 50, then use it at different location, i.e. 1st decoder at landed, 2nd decoder at condo?

anyone tried?

thanks

You can't watch Astro if your decoder doesnt have any smartcard... Not even mention installing to other location.

Hi,

Assuming I can move the 2nd decoder + smartcard from primary house (main account has HD channels) to my apartment, if the centralized dish does not support HD, I can still view SD channels in the apartment, can't I?
