dear all,

since astro is hvg a promo for 2nd decoder, was wondering, is it possible for subscibers to subscribe for 2nd decoder at RM 50, then use it at different location, i.e. 1st decoder at landed, 2nd decoder at condo?

anyone tried?

thanks

legally, of course not... and furthermore... all astro installers are now astro's own people... even less hope...

unless you can find some technicians willing to do so...

i am also thinking if i can move the second decoder to my new condo..
my condo is using centralized astro signal.. there is already a cable link to each unit.. (no extra installation needed)
can i just watch astro using the second decoder?
the second decoder comes with new smart card?

Both decoder come with independent smartcard. Your 2nd decoder won't be able to support HD channel unless it's supported by the centralized dish.
thx

If the 2nd (extra) dish come with a different type of LNB.
You might need to access the decoder's installation page.
Last time i tried to do the setting for a different type of LNB,
....need to change the base frequency parameter in the decoder but unable to change it.
was able to do this with the older decoder, but with the new decoder - it look like there is no way to chage the base frequency setting.

What is a LNB (see picture below):
