garage sale topics are sort based on RANK

pls make it sort based on LAST POST like before

tq lyn team.

Rank = last post like before.

We changed how bump works so that it doesn't update the last post time. Because of this, if you sort by Last post now, bumped threads won't be on the first page.

The new bump feature is quite confusing too. Like last time, any new bump/post is consider latest/active threads. Now if i sort by Last Post, some bumps are months ago yet the post is new. And those thread which bump recently, i can't see it with sort by Last Post.
*
Yes, so don't sort by last post if that's not what you want. Last post literally means last post now. Sort by rank (the default) if you want to see bumped threads first.

As quoted from ciohbu above, i prefer the old view of showing the time format in [Date][Month][Year], [Hour][Min], eg: 1st January 2013 - 04:11PM or Today, 11.11AM
*
I decided on the "XX minutes/hours/days ago" format because it looks neater when you have a pageful of threads. You have a valid point though - perhaps for threads updated Today I can show the time instead.

Just noticed a bug, but not sure if it does happen before the changes recently or after. But if the user's name comes with pipe character |, like [This], no results will be returned.
*
That's an old bug and is related to the default behavior of IPB mangling pipes (and some other characters) in usernames.

Hello admin, can you please at least put bumped beside the ts name on mobile version? So that we wont confused?

Thanks for your reply. So i tried to view threads that are bumped first order by Rank, but based on the screenshot below, is not sorted properly?

user posted image

Regarding the time format, will you revert to the old format?

Thanks again for your prompt reply smile.gif Keep up the good work!

Edit: Just found out that Order by Rank is follow like previous sorting. So either bump/last post whichever comes first will be the most recent 'active' threads. Now just hope the time format can be improved? Thanks

Hello! I bump using search result's Bump button or thread's bump button but it wouldn't top the thread:

Hi Admin,

I think there is something not right in the Last Bump vs Last Post sort in the Search Result list page.

From the screenshot, taken today at 12/01/2013 3:38PM, where I just bump one of my thread minutes ago.

user posted image

Notice that the sorting in search result was sort based on Last Post date, not the Last Bump date as previously.

Thus, even if I just bump my thread, my thread will be lost in search result if my last post is weeks ago. BUMP feature suppose to prevent people making new post everyday,
but if using the BUMP didn't have the same result as making new post, I think people will start posting new post everyday again.

Please kindly look into this issue smile.gif

Same here. The search results don't show bumped threads making it look like very little activity.
Now I have to visit the main forum index to see the active (bumped) threads.

I did not notice this Feedback thread earlier so I posted this > http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2666444

Hello, one customer posted in my thread and after i replied to him, my 'bump' button went missing. Is this a bug or its how the new system works?

It is normal

If your thread got someone post a comment, considered you bump for the day

You can post a reply but that doesn't bump your thread

Update: search results are now ranked by bump or last post time, whichever more recent. Previously they were ranked by last post time only.
