QUOTE(RBR @ Jan 4 2013, 09:28 PM)
Hi traders,

We propose to shortly implement a new code change which will result in posts made by a thread starter not bump a thread up the index.  Posts by other users will  continue to bring a thread up the index.

The decision to implement this change has been made to address the volume of reports on members 'indirectly bumping' threads.  It also acknowledges that there may be circumstances whereby members may wish to post a 'PM replied' or 'thanks' in response to a query or complement on a thread.

Once this change has been implemented, we will cease enforcing the prohibition on indirect bumps.  We will however continue to take action against people who spam.  While spamming would not bring a thread up the index, it is a waste of server space and is annoying.  We will also double our efforts in finding and stopping traders who use duplicate accounts to imitate sales.

Please let us know if you have any comments.

how many can mod control? these back to the very essential to the topic itself, because too many people bump their own thread..indirectly.. why mod dont take action to mute them but instead open this very topic here? because mod want to use the automatic system to monitor..

because flood is too much.. it is impossible to keep every citizen here obey the rules..unless this forum can automatically disable dupe to bump his own thread.

Hi

I agree too with ts replies will not bump the thread

Btw not sure if it is due to the code changes but I notice even using normal bump button has weird results

The thread seems to go up the index but the timing recorded is weird. Looks like it shows last post time stamp but not the normal bump time stamp

Is this a bug while doing code modifications?

Thx

Dear Mod,

Is there any view such that the trader could see their last bump date & time? Since once a day bump rule still applied, it will be good for trader to see when is their last bump.

the new system bump is showing the last reply date...

but sellers would prefer the old system where we can see when the last time the thread was bump so that we can avoid bumping the same category threads..

i would actually +1 for the old system bump thingy...
