TJ,
one forumer ask is this correct?
GT60-2OE, i7-4700MQ + Nvidia GTX675M + (1920x1080; anti-glare)@RM4299,8GB, 750GB(7200rpm), W8, backlit keyboard

I think this is GE60-2OE, and the GPU is GTX765M.
Could you confirm?
Thanks so much notworthy.gif

With Haswell you need LP DDR3 RAM, it won't boot if you insert normal RAMs  sweat.gif . Haven't tested with other brands yet.
*
sifu, is it applicable for all Haswell, or just those ULT stuff? (can understand ultrabook want to cut down on power usage). Not easy to find LPDDR3 (some blur blur counter person don't even know what it is) hmm.gif (is it even available on retail?)
And man, if all Haswell use LPDDR3, the price for it will shot through the roof doh.gif Even if only ultrabook use it, it will make life difficult for owner who want to upgrade RAM aftermarket.

agree. the pricing nowadays for RAM aint cheap either. RM11x for a 4GB slot, compared to RM9x from last time.

if LPDDR3, perhaps RM13x or something. shakehead.gif

I think they did it on purpose since current RAM prices have depreciate alot  sad.gif
*
Raymond, I think the price you have in mind is for DDR3L.
LPDDR3 is another story sweat.gif I could not find it in any retail shops at the moment cry.gif
And if my eyes are not failing me, the LPDDR3 in the latest MBA seems to be soldered and I suspect all the ultrabook that use LPDDR3 will do the same doh.gif

Haha, same here  tongue.gif

I'm having some minor lags editing my raw 36MP photos even with my current spec, and the sifus at the photography thread recommends RAIDing  laugh.gif

I hope by the time I buy SSD will become a whole lot more cheaper  laugh.gif
*
Don't do that kind of editing myself. But someone did mentioned
turn off page file, up the RAM (he was in the 32G territory laugh.gif ) hmm.gif

Feed back from sales , haswell max battery only 4 hours, no much improvement from iyv bridge.
But samsung has 1 model max battery life is 10 hours
*
Please understand there are a lot of components within a laptop that are drawing power from the battery, not just CPU.
How long a laptop will last running on battery power obviously also depends on the battery capacity.

For example, MacBook Air, reportedly improve battery running time by 40-60%, moving from Ivy Bridge to Haswell platform.

So please don't make this type of generalised statement lah icon_rolleyes.gif

Personally I still don't like WRT... For that price I will go for the Acer W3 laugh.gif
*
I think WRT is dead.
new 22nm Atom is coming out this year, from what I read, it can be slapped into tablet / phone, and run proper W8, and competitive vs ARM+Android.
It's weird when we have windows and somehow not backward compatible laugh.gif (wasting time explain to people "don't install windows apps onto WindowRT rolleyes.gif )

I've noticed that most mid-range notebooks (RM2-2.5k) don't come with mSATA SSD anymore... which is weird... its sort of like a downgrade again @_@
*
cost, cost tongue.gif Small capacity mSATA SSD price move up, making them not very competitive any more in cheap laptop.
I was hoping 1 laptop brand will come out and for models of all price range, give a standard spec of 256G SSD only (cost of this is only ~ RM400 from OEM hmm.gif ). That will be the day rclxms.gif
Also the latest form format craze seems to be the m.2 port. Start seeing it even in Lenovo Y series, and more prominently in MBA. So maybe mSATA will be phased out gradually in next 1 or 2 years hmm.gif

Nice! Another 2 models with GT750m.  rclxms.gif

Sad thing is still using 4GB DDR3 Vram which limit the bandwidth to 28.8 GB/s and bottleneck GT750m like N550jv, haiz.  laugh.gif
But they are advertising on 4 GB VRAM which are overkill and no performance gain.  doh.gif
15W i7-4500U probably will also bottleneck the gaming performance.  hmm.gif

N550LF has an Ultrabook ™ sticker on it. It has a DVD drive too. No hybrid SSD. Saw it in the shop just now.

Don't think N550LF can pass the Intel Ultrabook criteria (for Haswell spec) hmm.gif Max z-height allowed is 23mm under current ultrabook definition, but I see that N550LF is 27mm thick hmm.gif
Also need to wake up from hibernation within 3 sec. (if without SSD (any form), not likely to meet this criteria)
