that price. doh.gif
no choice, USD price just increased. thats why it affects the local market.

also MYR vs USD is weak lately, definitely affect brands when they set the price. Just bad timing for Malaysian when Haswell is coming up sweat.gif

on G505s with A6-5350M + HD8570M
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Lenovo...ok.99459.0.html

on performance of A4-5000, maybe can look at this:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Toshib...ok.97804.0.html

G400s, Pentium 2020 + Intel HD@RM1349, 4GB, 500GB, W8
G405s, A4-5000 + AMD HD@RM1099, 4GB, 500GB, FreeDOS
I think we can safely say the G405s will run longer than G400s, but is less powerful.

Dell Online Malaysia seems to be doing a major clean up now. Lots of variation disappear (including lots of Haswell spec). 14z left with 1 option laugh.gif

I don't really like the design though haha, like you said, they look thick!

Not too sure I like the new naming scheme by Dell.

I already has a slight adjustment to do when I look at the Latitude.
Last time we have, eg:
E5430, E6430, E6430u
Now, it's like:
Latitude 14 3000, Latitude 14 5000, Latitude 14 7000.
And the 3000 series look really entry level (more like Vostro, I also see model name like E3440), the 5000 series (E5440 in some doc) look worse than E5430 (in my eye), and 7000 series also carry model name like E7440 doh.gif I suppose if Dell feel like it they could come up with 6000 series later (E6440 perhaps, just to make it more confusing whistling.gif )

I supposed for Insiron, it is not getting any worse:
Last time we have:
14, 14R, 14z
It will change into something like:
Inspiron 14 3000, Inspiron 14 5000, 1nspiron 14 7000

But generally, I really prefer the "series" indicator to be in front of the size "indicator" in a model name tongue.gif
Guess I just have to get use to it.

Can't seem to find it lol
*
It was me tongue.gif Could be found last month when Dell Malaysia has a "Haswell spec" page showing all the Haswell spec laptop models, now that page memang sudah hilang doh.gif
Inspiron 15 is at "clearing stock" stage, Dell Malaysia Online only showing Ivy Bridge spec now sweat.gif

Z500 (and Z400) is just troublesome to get access to RAM slot and HDD bay. Some re-sellers don't want to bother with helping buyers do upgrade after-market sweat.gif

Actually it is not that hard. Just need to unscrew the back panel, insert the screwdriver through the screw holes to push the keyboard now. Unscrew the screws under keyboard, then you can remove the backplate now.  wink.gif

I have done it 2 times, 1 for replacing thermal paste, and another time is for swapping out HDD for SSD.

sifu, you are a pro rclxms.gif notworthy.gif
I'd seen a technician did it once. iirc, there were ~ 40 screws before he get to the RAM hmm.gif

Thanks for the input sifu notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Well, the notebook already come with mSATA and HDD stock, pretty good already I suppose haha  laugh.gif
*
5mm SATA SSD is hard to find (and expensive compared to normal 7/9 mm).
Also the mSATA slot is not easy to get to (for Inspiron 14 7000), apparently. So trying to change the mSATA SSD to higher capacity (and make it the boot + app drive) also is quite a challenge hmm.gif

Yup, sifu lee_what is right notworthy.gif , (looking at all the screen shot I could find and the manual) the 15 7000 and 17 7000 are using the normal z-height HDD. But the strange thing I did not seem to find / see mSATA port for 15" and 17" hmm.gif laugh.gif
