QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Apr 27 2013, 07:55 PM) Trip to Bali, hunting season? Not that bad lah, 3 cells but rated at 50WHr. Review feedback in China seems pretty good. Have 2 internal fans, but only 1 RAM slot. I just wish it come with matte screen instead of glossy |

LenovoY500, i7-3630QM + GT750M(GDDR5) + 1920x1080@RM2999, 8GB, 1TB, W8, red backlit, swappable ODD, 120w psu, 2 yrs Best bang for your buck if you are looking for 15" gaming laptop. Later on when you have more budget, buy an ultrabay GT750M and go SLI |

QUOTE(thekid94 @ May 8 2013, 07:33 PM) what about y580? Y580 is old model. Y500 is new model.Y500 latest spec come with GT750M (latest gen GPU from Nvidia), which is ~ 10% better than GTX660M (Nvidia GPU line-up from last year), according to some benchmark. |

QUOTE(raymondtong94 @ May 21 2013, 10:34 PM) QUOTE(PF T.J. @ May 22 2013, 11:26 AM) Yeah its pretty good-looking will definitely try to abuse the hinge when I get my hands on a display unit 2.4kg for a 15 incher is still alright I guess? Some more got IPS screen But so far this is the best hinge design (on paper at least, and if it really can stand the abuse) that I've seen, better than the XPS 12 or the Sony Viao or the Lenovo Twist. And the fact that Acer feel confident to put it with a much heavier 15" screen This post has been edited by nexus2238: May 22 2013, 12:13 PM |

I'll keep an open mind on the touchpad for now
The main advantages of the touchpad placement are these, I think 1. palm no longer has to rest on the palm rest area (which usually are a bit warm (personally I just find it uncomfortable). 2. the screen could be moved a lot closer to the user. No longer need to extend the arm across. Really help the utilisation of touch screen. 3. On W8 desktop mode, could push the screen back to "normal" position, and make touchpad available. I will try it out later and see if using the touchpad will make me accidentally press any button on the keyboard Will go look for it and test it out next Friday (this Friday is public holiday, not going into town to work |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Jun 10 2013, 11:15 AM) Asus pricelist updated, something interesting coming up it seems Business class ultrabook from Asus. Unless Asus Malaysia upgrade its warranty support service or farm the warranty support for its "business class" machine to more reliable parties, I will take a pass 14" Asus [Ultrabook]BU400A-W3212G, i5-3337U + Intel HD4000@RMTBA[1.64kg], 4GB, 500GB, W8P [Ultrabook]BU400VC-C3086G, i5-3337U + Nvidia NVS5200 Optimus + 128GB SSD + 500GB HDD@RMTBA[1.64kg], 4GB, W8P [Ultrabook]BU400VC-CZ072G, i7-3537U + Nvidia NVS5200 Optimus + (1600x900; anti glare) + 256GB SSD@RMTBA[1.64kg], 8GB, W8P |
