The Lenovo Y series is your best bet. Otherwise, within your budget looking for GT650M or better:

Asus 15"
N56VZ-S3151H, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT650M@RM2799[2.7kg][B&O], 4GB, 750GB, W8; color: black

Illegear 11.6"
R-11, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT650M@RM2999, 8GB, 500(5400rpm), FreeDOS [CPU options: i5-3210M-i7-3630QM]

I need a recommendation on ultrabooks.

What is the cheapest ultrabook that I can get that is decent? Is it possible to get one below 2500?

Thanks for any reply.

Definitely, due to the pretty loose "requirements" as an ultrabook, some can be very cheap yet still being called an ultrabook, it all depends on what you want nod.gif
Mind sharing what you will be using the ultrabook for? Normal office tasks? Gaming? etc.? hmm.gif

Asus

HP
Pavilion Sleekbook 14-b010TU, B987 + Intel HD@RM1399, 2GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W8
Pavilion Sleekbook 14-b051TU, i3-2367M + Intel HD3000@RM1499, 2GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W8
Lenovo

Ok I'm sorry, I will basically use it a lot for school and eventually work, I guess.

I don't plan to game on it a lot, some odd indie games here and there. I have a PS3 for "proper" gaming.

I just want a light laptop, that will last me forever (ok, not forever, but for a long time) means it needs to be relatively durable.

And I prefer proper Windows software on mine, not one that I need to buy separate, so maybe not freeDOS.

No HPs though, bad experience. Unless there is a really good one out there.

Thanks in advance people!

I'm contemplating between the Dell 14R SE (i5) and the Lenovo Z480 but the Dell I read has a lot of issues (BSOD, WiFi and etc.) but its cheaper and has a faster HDD.

So which would you choose around that budget and why? Thanks.

Budget : Around 2.1k

If you look hard enough, you will notice that all models have issues laugh.gif
For your budget, its better for you to go for the Z480 with 2 years warranty rather than the 14R SE with one one year warranty nod.gif
You can always upgrade to SSD later on~

Normal office task would be right, yeah. I'm currently studying but I'd like to be able to use this laptop for work as well. I think I just want a slim one that I can lug around anywhere and everywhere I go. Gaming not so much, just the odd indies here and there, 2d games mostly. Preferably with something with an i5. I just want it to last me for awhile, durability-wise, and spec-wise.

Any ideas bro?

1. Definitely no Acer, or Alienware.

2. Within RM3k-5k

3. Gaming. High fps on dota2 and cs:go with high settings. Best if its able to run upcoming games at above average settings.

4. Full HD 15.6"

Which brand has good customer/warranty service?
Also prefers laptops with good cooling system

1. Preferred Brand: Any
2. Budget: Around 3K
3. Usage: Mostly web surfing, watching Full HD videos, out to TV.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: Any as long as there is touchscreen.

I'm looking for an ultrabook with the following features:

1. Lightweight
2. Long battery life
3. Touchscreen
4. SSD
5. Able to output Full HD videos through HDMI
6. Won't heat up easily

How many ultrabook has the ability to flip the display totally to the back and sort of use it as tablet?

Illegear is a Malaysia company selling Clevo barebone.
www.illegear.com
You can talk to Prince J, who is from Illegear, in this thread:
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2613184
There is some non-photoshop photo of the Illegear laptop in the thread as well.
Warranty service is good. Illegear offer 3 year warranty if you are willing to pay.
Do note the R-11 is 11.6" smile.gif

For Asus Vivobook X200 and S200 series

Pros:
Cheap in price, solid build quality, nice in look, light in weight
Touch screen

Cons:
Small screen (11')
Onboard memory, no RAM slot, cant upgrade
temparature is killing, many user claim achieve 70c when watching movie. 80c above on full load.
