For Dell Inspiron laptop:
Essential - NBD on site service after remote diagnosis.
Basic - Essential + cover accidental damage (pour the whole can of coke on the laptop keyboard, drop the laptop onto the floor, leave laptop on bed and son jump on it, electric surge .... Dell will fix it no question ask smile.gif )
Premium - Basic + software support (don't need lah sweat.gif )

Basic is almost double the price of Essential (and you should see why).
Go for the longest period possible (you want at least minimum cover over long period; rather than max protection over short period then no protection in the longer run). Then if you think you are really "kelam kabut" kind of person, opt for Basic.

Please note for XPS or Alienware line, Essential / Basic / Premium mean different thing (all include NBD on site, cover accidental damage, software support, just different length of period).

Perhaps the Z500 touch? hmm.gif
15.6"
Lenovo Z500 touch, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT645M + (1366x768; touch)@RM2249, 4GB, 1TB, W8; backlit, 2 years warranty

But I think you are going to have to wait a bit for this one since its still fairly new. And do double-check on the pricing as well since its a bit "too" cheap for the specifications laugh.gif

Whether the laptop has long lifespan, well it depend on luck (every brand has lemon unit) and how you take good care of it smile.gif

True, but based on your choices you are already considering 15.6" notebooks ins the 1st place right?
S56 and S550CM are both 15.6" notebooks, same size as the Z500~
