Nice place you got there Sneaky Leaky.

If not mistaken, it's a direct river flow into it. Not a very big damn tho, approximately 700~800m line of sight. Dont mind to make a trip there. smile.gif

possibility of toman very little, perhaps you may want to target sebarau or baung. smile.gif

1 more thing, i juz got info that the dam is 18 meters deep and took a boat ride (someone's boat biggrin.gif ) beyond the area where the photograph was taken. its pretty ... long lol. there are many area that are rather inaccessible though .. if one has a boat then everything would be solved

Bro Acheong and fellow Anglers,

Below is the design which i could think of and it's one of it's kind in term of design.

I have also mix and match from various rods available and ABC into one.... smile.gif

All comments appreciated.

In order to lighten the rod, there will not be any winding check and aluminum bling blings... smile.gif BUT again, i may add 1 or 2 winding checks to balance the rod effectively.

Comments?

very nice, rory ... personally prefer a shorter butt end with the slant the other way around ... as in when the rod is laid to res in a rod holder, the butt is level or flush with the ground
also prefer non-ACS trigger ... find the ACS a wee bit ... bulky
but yes, salute !

skeletal or two piece seats will save weight, and increase sensitivity, too ... but no idea bout the cost tho'

do i tie a long line to the milo tin? i need to retrieve it after i toss it right? seems kinda irresponsible to just leave it in the dam lolol
this seems like a really good idea! thanks!
*
Tie with line so you can retrieve it later or to adjust the position. Do remember to add some stones in the tin to prevent it from moving too far from the targeted position. Judge the amount of weight to put in depending on the current smile.gif

hey guys! newbie here, if it is possible i would like to have advice and suggestions by you guys here. ive been going to a dam near my place

user posted image

however after many many tries, me and my friends could not get anything at all. not even a nibble! i am really annoyed and wondering how on earth can a damn so big can have no fish in it!!

probably we are casting at the wrong places, or maybe we should fish there at night since fish will look for food at night. the bait we use are nightcrawlers (fat earthworms). the damn is very deep as you would expect.

Details about the Dam
- Very Deep
- Has grasses and weeds along the banks.
- Has birds flying around and picking up small fishes on the surface
- occasionally has fishes splashing water on the surface
- water is dark slightly murky black

any suggestions would be great! thanks!

bro try live frog...usually this dams are filled with haruans....dont believe try try.

Bro Acheong,
The picture above is not meant to scale. I'll do another one which have proper scale for you to see... smile.gif The angled butt can change direction.

If non ACS, then there's only ECS and TCS. ECS and TCS more bulky leh. Not so much of finger resting position too... smile.gif

As for the split handle, need to specifically order from Matagi which is around 25USD each. Our Fuji disti in Malaysia(Sea Tackle) doesnt carry these fancy reel seat.

Split handle AKA Acid seat AKA Naked seat

However, if you still prefer the split reel seat type, i could figure something out wink.gif

We'd tried gizzard,livers and intestine.
Haven't tried dedak b4.might workout,no harm trying
Mind I ask which package ur planning to take?
Coz rm 100/3hours pull fish only.
Rm 50/hour - jackpot+ fish below 1.5kg can bring home,certain species only.

BTW u might wanna consider to bring your own rod stand, those rod stand which provided from the pond are all homemade welded metals. Which might dmg ur Eva handle when u attempt to pull your rod out from striking a fish.
