In cases of dam fishing, I think you have higher chance if you are fishing from a boat than on land. Then again, not everyone can deploy a boat. Try asking the locals around, type of fish, bait, etc. Where is this dam anyway? Looks like a rather nice place
*
this dam is in Bentong, Pahang. It's called Perting Dam near Chamang Waterfalls.

my uncle who is a senior fishing guy told me that i should find spot where there are shades especially when fishing in the afternoon. i have to agree about the boat, there are many areas where i believe would have fishes hiding but juz could not reach the area.

would fishing at night be better since these fishes would come out and feed?

hey guys! newbie here, if it is possible i would like to have advice and suggestions by you guys here. ive been going to a dam near my place

user posted image

however after many many tries, me and my friends could not get anything at all. not even a nibble! i am really annoyed and wondering how on earth can a damn so big can have no fish in it!!

probably we are casting at the wrong places, or maybe we should fish there at night since fish will look for food at night. the bait we use are nightcrawlers (fat earthworms). the damn is very deep as you would expect.

Details about the Dam
- Very Deep
- Has grasses and weeds along the banks.
- Has birds flying around and picking up small fishes on the surface
- occasionally has fishes splashing water on the surface
- water is dark slightly murky black

any suggestions would be great! thanks!

if you fish at a huge lake , i would suggest you bring bait that have strong smell

such as chicken intestine , since the lake is huge you might wanna consider feeding the fish at the same spot
for several days with fish pellet before you fish, just to attract the fish on the area to gather around

good idea, that's what i thought also. gonna try it one day. i think i wanna try buying chicken intestines like u said and let it rot a little juz to make the smell stronger. i think i might nidda put on shoes and trek around the place to survey a good spot.

Nice place you got there Sneaky Leaky.

If not mistaken, it's a direct river flow into it. Not a very big damn tho, approximately 700~800m line of sight. Dont mind to make a trip there. smile.gif

possibility of toman very little, perhaps you may want to target sebarau or baung. smile.gif

Was at Rawang area today and i passed by Jurassic & Exotic to tengok2 for the first time.
Apparently there's a lot more people in exotic and many of them are using dedak to fish.
Btw RM50/hour for tilapia worth it meh

jpond.would say chances of hitting fish there is 90%
exotic probably about 65%
still..depends on what bait ur using.
mmm, jpond use lure. morning n evenin time..
exotic use lure also can..very slow, bottom bait depends on the area ur casting, time ur fishin n baits ur using. morning 6am afternoon 4pm night 9pm.

do i tie a long line to the milo tin? i need to retrieve it after i toss it right? seems kinda irresponsible to just leave it in the dam lolol
