My daughters have been drinking Similac from step 1 until now step 3 and 4 respectively, no issues so far.In fact both of them are very active. If you do not wish your children to be not so active you can try Dumex Dugro (not so expensive).

The enfalac DHA is sufficient for baby.
If possible dun use S-26 as it is very heaty.

We used to use Friso, very good for her digestion because of the probiotics etc. That's what I think lah, because when we changed to S26 her pooping pattern changed. Sometimes one whole day no poop, sometimes few times a day etc. Used to be quite regular once a day, I suspect the lack of probiotics lah, but don't know for sure. Trying to give her more yogurt to make up for it, but don't think it compensates.

When they suddenly increased the price we tried to change to other milk powders - Anmum, Dumex, even Friso Step 2, she was vomiting etc. Don't know for sure if it was because of the milk but looks like it lah. Tidak ngam I guess. So now she drink S26, so far ok, but her pooping pattern has changed.

Hopefully if we can find more money maybe we change to Friso again huhu

Frankly...all these expensive brand are all marketing hype. They seems to comes up with some new ingredient every few months and hype it like it will turn your kid into Einstein. AFAIK, i am quiet sure Einsten didn't have access to S-26 or Enfagrow when he was a kid with the latest killer formula.

The part i am not convinced is because there will not be enough time to do any clinical studies thoroughly to see the effects of their latest formula. You will need for a good samples of kids growing up with the new formula before any real results can be analysed which will take years if not decades, yet all these milk companies can come up with new formula every few months and claim it's the next Holy Grail??

The only thing that is probably useful are DHA and AA. When baby is your their body cannot convert the chemical from other compound (Omega 3 or 6 or 9...can't remember which), then it is good to have the DHA ...once the kids grows up a bit to 2-3 years old, their body can star functioning fully and do the conversion to DHA and AA. It's better you feed them fish for DHA source then to rely on these formula by then. smile.gif

My older daughter is lactose intolerant, so the other cow milk brands are out of the question. I'm feeding her Isomil Plus as their ingredients are soy based. My daughter loves it, the taste is great. But make sure your hot water temperature is just right. I tested out their sample packs before purchasing, just incase my daughter doesn't like it.

I get my samples for Isomil Plus in their website: http://isomilplus.com.my/ the process of getting the samples a bit long, I spent around 5 minutes to register for a free sample. But then what is 5 minutes if youre getting something for free hehe.

My son on the other hand (second child, and last hehe) is a really picky eater. He hates vegetables, fruits, and anything green. I've been trying to feed him veggies by hiding them inside sausages and chicken drumstick. But most of the time I get caught and he spits it out. Sometimes, a bit tiring to feed him, so I just thought of supplementing with milk.

So, our family doctor suggested us to try Pediasure, I've requested for the sample AGAIN (BECAUSE I LOVE FREE STUFFS) the website I get is this one http://pediasure.com.my/ and am still waiting for them to send it over. I've read a lot of reviews about their products as well and all looks pretty good, so I'm hoping my son would like it too.

I hope my sharing can help some of you new moms out there to decide on your milk powder brands for your kids.

Not all milk powders are the same, my family doc always say: consult with your doc first before trying things out on your kids (especially when it comes with food).

Hi Parents,
As a parent, i know the cost of purchasing milk is quite costly and i manage to get hold of a distributor then sells mini packs (200g). After price conversion to the standard pack it is cheaper by 20% which brings a great value over the years.

I am able to get good price for Step 1 and Step 2 for S26, Enfalac A+, Anmum and Snow.

Please pm me if interested.

I've been feeding my son Dutch Lady the cheapest milk i assume since day 1, and he's now 2 year old.

He has no problem memorizing alphabet A - Z, digit 1 - 10, most of the standard shapes (heart, diamond, oval, square, circle etc) and even most basic colors. He could even speak and name all these when given in random order, with 100% precision, and also most animals i taught him. He catch up fast and have super good memory. And to me i think he's very smart (maybe i'm dumb) and i'm thankful for that at least he's healthy and decent as an average kid that behaves normal.

I did compared the formula content across all brands available and to be honest i found barely any difference. There are about the same nothing great to shout. And about your kids intelligence 70% are inherited and 30% from food and environmental factor. So if you are dumb most probably you will raise a dumb kid don't blame the milk formula and this was told by my doctor unless he's also dumb to tell me the wrong info. Feeding your kids expensive formula does not actually make him smarter. I know all parents showing too much of concern over their kids intelligent and everyone wants their child to be smart but please don't fool by those advert telling you fake shit believing in nonsense.

Baby formulas are definitely overpriced in Malaysia and to me i'm just not the kind believing in "expensive thing must be good" kind of person. I can definitely afford but not this way if even the cheap one yield the same thing. It wasn't justified why consumers should buy expensive milk formula unless it's proven cheap formula produces dumb kids... which i don't think so.

By the way as you all know the best is still the breast milk and natural food.

my baby was on Enfalac A+ Step 1 and breastfeeding DL.
around 50%-50%.

then the fake milk issue come out.
we stopped for a while, and exclusively breastfeed.

then when Mead Johnsson replaced our Enfalac, my baby no longer wanna drink formula.
only breast milk.

previously i use dutch lady, cheapest. but recently i found nestle lactokid is even cheaper. i don't believe in small diff caused a double price increase. if you drink 1 cup a day while i drink 2 cups a day, i believe my cost is lower n the nutrients i get is higher.
