i have 2 phone that still using 2.4g wifi. both does not have internet connection while connected to wifi. it will have internet if connected to wifi that not host by asus xt8. all my iot, can connect to 2.4 asus xt8.

i try reset everything again yesterday night. i stop manual changing channel for 2.4 band (control channel is 11). and both phone (xiomi mi 6 and realme 5i) start working again. then this morning, i notice suddenly my phone s10 connect/disconnect on 5gh2. then i check my network, a few item is disconnect. realme 5i is fine, but xiomi mi6, cant connect to wifi at all. i need to reboot the router again.

I recently purchase RT-AX88U and RT-AX86U. I have setup my RT-AX88U as the main wireless router, and RT-AX86U as an AI-Mesh node. Both are updated with the latest Merlin firmware 386.3.2. Using ethernet backhaul connected to LAN port in AX-88U and WAN port in AX-86U. Using CAT5E cable. My ISP package is 300mbps.

I recently found out that when my device is connected via Wifi or LAN to the Ai-Mesh node, the speed is cut by nearly more than 50% (110mbps).

Is others also facing the same issue? Not sure whether is this a known issue.

Even after resetting to factory default a few times and re-adding the node, speeds are still cut by halve.

are you run in merlin?my ax11000 3 pcs of nodes doesnt shown many detail like yours in network(i mean connected device with ax or ac)

Router RT-AX3000 with firmware 3.0.0.4.386_45898-gfa90458 failed to update DDNS (domain.asuscomm.com)

Recently I have reused my RT-AX3000  and found that it has failed to update the DDNS when the WAN IP changes.  Before reusing the RT-AX3000, I have updated the firmware and reset it to factory default.  Then reconfigure to use it for internet access.

Any insight on how to solve the DDNS update problems would be apprreciated.

Hi guys, I bought a TUF-AX3000 recently. It keeps getting disconnected, weak signal, high ping...what's wrong with this router?

Bought it to replace my unifi router but I'm having the same problems as the stock unifi router. Damn... frustrating.

Hi all, i m using Maxis Fibre,  currently wana using aimesh XT8 in order to full cover the wifi signal.

The maxis provided the modem i think is ZTE brand, the router is AC 120x( forgot the mod3l).

If i wanna use existing router which maxis provided and connect wireless from XT8 to router, it only success to let me set repeater, if bridge will hnable to connect at all.

And everytime new reset to XT8, after setting the  admin name and password,  no more action and enable to enter GUi via router.asus.com

I don't recommend people to use DFS channel too.
If you take a look, the DFS channel transmit power is limited to 250mW.
Low transmit power plus higher frequency = bad combo
Then again, if non-dfs channel is really overcrowded, dfs channel might be the only solution to get higher downstream speed.

Any XT8 user here using smart connect? My XT8 with smart connect enabled is facing constant connectivity dropping (every 5-10s) for devices on the 5GHz, but no issues for devices on 2.4GHz. The 5GHz becomes normal again when smart connect is disabled.

Frustrating when u buy a mesh wifi but cant utilise the mesh feature.

My house has 2 floors with around 23-30 devices connected most of the time. Unifi package is 500mbps. However, the speed is capped at max 280-29x Mbps with LAN. Currently using 7 year old router ASUS RT-AC55HP.

Other bigger issues are:
1. some users experience super slow internet (as low as 3mbps) or keep disconnecting despite connected to 2.4ghz.

2. Certain areas also have very poor connection or completely no signal (example: washroom upstairs).

Any suggestions? I need a new router and mesh, few members recommended RT-AC86U & TUF-AX3000 (For wifi-6) however I don't think its necessary for my usage.

I found other models such as RT-AX55 but I will probably need mesh for second floor. Any recommendation? ZenWIfi XT8 is out of question as it's not within my budget.

I also found RTAC59U (which comes with 2 units), should I go for that one? (cost effective)

Which Asus RT-AX* supports (1) Maxis Fibre AND (2) the VoIP phone line that comes with it?

TM installer supplied the Zyxel ONU, but it seems the VoIP line is to be connected to Huawei Wifi router supplied by Maxis installer.

Or, do I have to forgo replacing the Huawei router?
