ASUSmy,

for RT-N66U what this means "Upgrade NVRAM size from 32KB to 64KB"

_nvram_init: allocat header: 2183725056, size= 65536

what are the benefit i will get? will router perform better. i mean especially dealing with video streaming or etc.
btw when with ASUS release the replacement for Maxis Fiber Thompson router. many ppl are anticipate the new model from ASUS. to date ppl find access to TM fiber ONT. it will take time till TM find ways to seal the backdoor. i mean using all tech patches and legal means via user service contract.

just think of it, the innovation will inturn benefit ASUS. for this is what ppl actually wants for now and the future. it's a win win situation for all. where it can support basically all ISP availablle without hassle.
*
Hi toh2020,

By having bigger NVRAM, it allow you to do more setting and reduce the risk that the router will hang.

As for the thomson router we currently don't have the replacement yet.

Thank you

Hi Asusmy,

I have this wireless router RT-N13U which comes with 3 years warranty for 1 to 1 exchange. This set is still under warranty. Can you please tell me where in KL I can go for the exchange, your service centre?

Thanks.

Hi digipaq,

You can send back to the place you bought but they might charge you for the service charges due to most of the dealer only help send warranty for free within first year.

If you don't want, you can send back direct to our supplier.

Hi,

Thanks for your prompt response.

Since I didn't buy the router from your suppliers, hence I believe they will charge me a fee. How much do you think is reasonable if they do charge?

Thanks again.
*
Hi digipaq,

They will not charge you but before that can you PM your serial number to me? I will help you check from which distributor this router are from.

Thank you

can this router replace my Maxis fiber thomson router?
and can u teach me how to configure, cause i already find many way to configure it, but still can't get internet connection.
*
Hi trowa123,

The RT-N12 C1 can support Maxis broadband but cannot be used to replace the Thomson router if you want to use the VOIP.

May I know what is the firmware version or your router?

Hi ,

You can refer to the link below as a reference if you want to add another router. Or you can put the LAN cable between RT-N12 C1 LAN port 3 and Thomson WAN port.

Please flash the firmware provided by the link below, it is newest firmware for RT-N12 C1.

Hi Asusmy
I have purchased 1 unit of Asus RT-N53 Router which i am connecting to the  Huawei DTU unit.

The firmware is ASUS RT-N53 Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.264
I tried to setup to connect to the Internet but it fails everytime with the error :

"Detecting the internet connection type timed out, do you want to try again"

I have double checked my user id and password which is correct as it can log in to Unifi OCC.

As such please advise what to do next?
*
Hi VCBlogger,

When selecting the connection type, at the bottom there is a check box. Tick the check box and a list of ISP will show up at the right. Select your ISP and see you can connect or not.

Thank you

Could not work as well

Error below :

Authentication failed.

The account name and password are not correct.
Click Wireless Setting to enter the login information again. Click Select Internet Type to select another Internet connection type.

Its definitely not the wireless setting otherwise i could not access the 192.168.1.1 address.
Its definitely not the unifi password as it can connect to unifi online system.

Is this a firmware bug or incompatibility?
*
Hi VCBlogger, have you try do a factory reset to see the problem still persist or not? And we got user using this firmware and they didn't have this problem.

Hi ASUSmy , I'm also interested in RT-N12 C1. I have two questions.
1. Does this model support TM Unifi VOIP & IPTV? since u said not for MAXIS..
2. I heard there's an firmware for this model called as "ASUSWRT" which officially made by ASUS. Is it available on ASUS official website?
*
Hi CuteSniper22,

I think there is some misunderstanding, what the previous question asking is about the modem not the router. In term on router only, yes it use for the Maxis Fiber Broadband but due to the RT-N12 C1 don't have phone cable port, you will need to use it together with the Thomson router in order to use the VOIP.

And yes we do have the ASUSWRT firmware but not yet upload to the website.

Thank you
